It really surprises me when they speak about fights between the couples. I think because I have a level of respect for all they've done in their careers and how they manage their business affairs that I'm really taken aback how they handle their disagreements with their significant others. It seems really juvenile to me and unhealthy. I'm not saying there's no love there (obviously there is), but there are definitely healthier ways to settle disagreements/fights. I like that they keep it real and they're not trying to put up a front for all the viewers, but just surprised with how they speak to each other. And before anyone comments.. that's how Asians are or it has to do with being in a interracial relationship...my husband is Chinese and I'm Hispanic. Yes, in our 13 years of being together, we have arguments and disagreements, we've gone through shit most young viewers here and probably JK cast have never experienced, but I would never put up with some of the shit I hear Bart or Joe say, do, or the tone in which they speak to their significant other (especially when they say most of the time the fights are about nothing)....and I wouldn't expect him to put up with any of that shit from me either. I love the whole JK Crew and wish them nothing but success in their careers and relationships....please take a moment to think about how you all speak to each other.
If you actually go to Asia and meet people from China, Japan, South Korea, etc., they don't act like these guys at all. Usually first generation kids who are born in North America are raised extra strict and almost "fob-like" because parents want to preserve their culture and make sure their kids don't give in to western influences, lose their heritage, etc. As far as eating crazy shit, most Korean people I know (born and raised in South Korea) don't eat live octopus and don't have the stomach for a lot of the wilder dishes. Basically first generation Asians (and I mean continental Asia, not just East or Southeast Asia) lay it on extra thick to make themselves feel different and special.
