  • How are lexemes and objects related? How can we define the relationships between the lexemes of a language? These questions are central to word semantics and defineits main branches reference and sense. This E-Lecture provides an overview of these main areas of word semantics.

I´m a student of linguistics as well and I also wanted to thank you for the great videos, they make everything sound so easy and they´re great for revising stuff! It would be great if you could upload more videos about semantics in general, thematic roles etc. Thanks again!

Our goal is to record all possible fields more or less related to linguistics, from top to bottom. So formal semantics/logics will follow, may be later this year.

I'm about to do my first year exam in Linguistics tomorrow and I wish I had found your videos earlier in the semester! You explain things in a visual way so much better than my lecturer! Plus you are easier to listen to! A big thumbs up from me for all of your work. Thank you!

Really excelently presented, you speak really well. Please put more up, maybe a bit of formal logic relative to semantics?

Professor, let me tell you 'hongera' as we put it in Kiswahili when appreciating such ingenious teachings.

Thank you - even though I cannot translate 'hongera' into English or German. I hope it's something nice.
