As a person who was overweight for years and one day decided to lose a hundred pounds i understand a person will only lose weight when they are ready. Pressuring a person to lose weight never works. In fact it could make them do the opposite.

Wow, you seem to have missed a lot of this episode. He didn't just throw her food away, though throwing away her Thanksgiving meal because he thought it wasn't healthy enough was pretty bad, particularly when he did it in front of others. It's demeaning her.
He took her phone and hid it, interfering with her business.
When she didn't want to wear what he told her to wear, he threw her dress that *she* wanted to wear in the trash, so that she couldn't wear it, then he decided that as she didn't wear what he told her to wear she would have to stay at home while he went out and enjoyed himself.
