I agree that going straight fighter is more optimized, but it's less Inuyasha because of it. He clearly has Rage powers, he also fights without armor. 3 levels of path of the beast would do it.
And TBH, the first time I saw the character his pointed ears, demon eyes and use of claws all screamed cat demon to me, not dog demon. When was the last time you saw a dog use claws?
Super cool build xD giving a single class/subclass some spotlight always feels nice. No sleight against multiclassing, of course, but I think its also neet to see one single class fully realised to bring a character to live in such a neatless manner.
I feel like fighter makes it a bit easier to do no multi-classing, mostly because they have so many ability score improvements that if you want to grab a feet it's much easier to do that and get a little more customization out of your character
@@dndbuilds absolutely. I also really like the various fighter subclasses and how they bring unique magical abilities to the table. The samurai is an excellent example with how he brings martial and fighting spirit to life. Fighters just feel like the most customizable class, only challenged by maybe warlocks and artificers.
Just kind of weighing in my own opinions about multiclassing vs. maxxing out one class. I've never played a campaign far enough to really even get to level 3, much less all the way to the top, but I also have a big collection of D&D books and I've seen that these classes have some really cool features as you get to the high levels; I have no objections to one day taking a single class all the way to 20, and I definitely don't have any problems with anyone else doing that. That being said, in a context like this? Imagining DnD Builds one day taking a character from my main storyverse and giving them this treatment (unlikely, but it's fun to imagine)? My world is amazing, but it does have some restrictions, and I'll have to do some very careful cross-referencing of the higher-level skills vs. my worldbuilding to see which classes can ACTUALLY be taken all the way to level 20.
Worth noting on Strength Before Death: if you already have advantage from another source (prone, flanking, Silvery Barbs, etc.) you can instead use your bonus action to second wind. Which means that after getting knocked to 0 HP, you stand up, take 7-9 attacks, and then you keep fighting. Very cool.
One thing about Great Weapon Master that got glossed over is the extra attack it gives you when you reduce a foe to zero hp or crit. Meaning that when with all the extra attacks you already make you have a very reasonable shot at gaining 2 extra attacks to your Strength Before Death tally.
Theoretically you could take a 3 level dip into Barbarian (path of the Beast) for the claws And also because the character sometimes flies into a blinding rage
I would love to see Krieg from Borderlands 2 adapted into the 5e formula. I love the idea of a slightly nonverbal psychopath talking about meat bicycles while turning bandits knees into spaghetti 😂
I was expecting a shifter, since that’s a close proximity to half demon half human wolf person since lycanthropy has in some beliefs been connected to the demonic.
Yeah I was tempted to do that but I wanted to make sure I highlighted the fact that he's actually part demon and not just go purely animalistic, but I was definitely tempted to and if they had had a shift or type that used clause I probably would have but the only one I could find is only in the Play test material and not an official one
Awesome vid! I wanna use this with a few of my own adjustments. Not sure where to put requests for your next builds but have you ever thought of doing eragon since we have the drakewarden now? Curious to see what you’d do with that.
Doesn't feel like Inuyasha to me. I feel like he would be much more likely Barbarian instead of Fighter. Probably could have gone Shifter, but Tiefling works. The desire for claw attacks via Magic Initiate felt like a diversion that you would never end up using since it is a lot worse than just attacking with a greatsword. Also nothing here that simulates Wind Scar, but I am not sure what could be used to simulate it. Closest thing that comes to mind is maybe Steel Wind Strike, but no builds that fit his character get that spell.
@@justinbent9320 Yeah Ranger would work pretty well I suppose - things like zephyr strike and long strider to boost move speed and such. Maybe a barbarian ranger multiclass?
I would have gone custom lineage with the druid magic iniate druid as the feat and agree with my dm that I'd have the dog like features, and just use the extra feat later to bump wisdom. Since helish rebuke doesn't fit his Character abilities, but otherwise excellent
Totally understand, I feel like some people might benefit from being able to play with an AI, it can be very hard to find a group, and some people might just prefer it. I thought it was an interesting service, but I understand not everybody would be into it.
I would add at least 1 level barbarian and have maxed con instead of wis so that way you can have decent AC and HP while just wearing robes.
Go 2 so you can get Reckless Attack. Out of Fighting Spirits? Well, what if you had advantage anyways.

Also, the extra fighting style could net you Interception or Protection to save Kagome.
For the race, I've used tabaxi as a stand-in for most half animal races and in this case whats the difference between cat human and dog human

I would go 12 lvls samurai fighter, 8 lvls into conquest paladin or 20 lvls in conquest paladin, or 20 lvls samurai fighter.

@@dndbuilds now of you were to pick a shifter which Subrace would you pick? With and without UA.
The removal of bloodlines sucks.
I know right!!!
It still shows all the different bloodlines for me on dndbeyond. Did you not own the SCAG before they removed it from the store?
@@Cloakedinvision I had bought individual pieces, and apparently never bought the bloodline before they removed it
Honestly, I would've used Custom Lineage or something else from an earlier Edition, after a brief Discussion with the DM of course.

Inuyasha is retro now 😮 brb gotta find my casket
Tabaxi could make the build work but inuyasha is part dog NOT part cat so it would only be inspired by him.
You can still do it because Flavor is free.
Playing Inuyasha in D&D was *unironically* my first D&D character lmao
lol really?
Hey, how would you do Jekyll and Hyde? I'm trying to do that build for my next playthrough.
I really like an Alchemist Artificer/ Barbarian Multiclass for that flavor.
I am convinced Sesshomaru is the next build 👀
You should have talked about targeted search for magic items
Great job
Unless you are contractually tied to Hasbro, I say go ahead and do lineage. I'll bet this build would have been even cooler with your tiefling lineage
He can’t put it on the sheet for his patreon buyers.
@@AtelierGod Aw Nuts!
Heya I was wondering if you would be able to build Hidan from Naruto, I was thinking Death or Grave cleric would be the most accurate
Great video again, gonna throw Raikou from Fate/Grand Order into the hat once again
This is the Zoro build v2.
Pretty darn similar with a couple different feats and going with a great weapon instead of dual wielding

Can you make an itachi build please? 🙏🏾
I think blood hunter for his build, but this build is great
Can you build Jack of blades from fable
can you make a build based on cid kagenou
I'd be totally fine with the best builds not being available in dndbeyond in the future
Seshomaru next?
Hey can you do me a favor and make liono from ThunderCats
do one for brook from one peice!
How did you even manage to see this video? it's not even posted yet lol. (legitimately curious in case I messed up some setting)
@@dndbuildssometimes a video appears on your homepage even if you haven’t posted it yet.
This is interesting, ngl
Yeah instead of samurai is go eldrich knight
Day 7 of asking for uncle Iroh
you should at some point attempt to make the 7 deadly sins characters
Wow... they got rid of tiefling bloodlines? One of the best ways to customize your characters? Wotc strikes again

This works great- just flavor the Tiefling’s form to resemble an Inuyasha type doggo and we good 👍
