What a shame that the KCC could let this happen. I was born and lived there until my 20's and just to think that this gem of the south coast , this Victorian beach resort could go down like this . Great Video
How sad! I used to love going here as a kid and now it's just a dump. What fantastic photography though, thanks to whoever did this. No thanks to the purchaser though!
I'm Craig Peters. It's a shame that Margate Dreamland has become so neglected in the last decade. I hope it becomes an exciting funfair once again like in the 1970s with new rollercoasters, log flume etc an most of all to enjoy stockingfeet fun with a marvellous new Funhouse, with visitors coming miles once again to Margate.
My god. What happened? What is the difference between this and Pripyat looking at this footage? It just saddens me. I used to hear to screams of children and the laughter with the neon lights flashing and gazing in awe over the intense rides.
TOP QUALITY VID! next time ur flying about in margate at night cud u please cruise past the top floor newish flats (rollercoaster house) in between the flats and the promenade with all lights flashing pleeeeease :D lol, keep saying to mate im sooo guna get one of these, want him to get one also, are they as easy to fly as u make it look in the video?
+Danny King Hmmm, it's doubtful. When I filmed last year it was empty so there was no risk of me injuring someone etc. If the park has people in the last thing I want to do is hurt someone. I would love to though.
The scenic railway had a "mysterious" fire shortly after he was told he couldn't knock it down. As did Pleasurama in Ramsgate and one of the arcades he owned on the seafront.
The drone flying in this video may be breaking the safety rules which are in place to protect the public from injury. Under these rules, the remote pilot cannot fly a drone within 50 metres of people, vehicles, buildings or structures or over an urban area or large group of people at any height. The drone must also stay within direct, unaided visual line of sight of the pilot, which is unlikely to be achieved beyond a distance of 500 metres. It's amazing how much this park has transformed over the past 5 years. It's so nice to see it full of life again.
Great music to accompany the video
Great shots - I remember the little shopping centre at the base of Arlington house with the little joke shop - happy times

Awesome footage, well done. I lived in Margate over 30 years and moved away in 2001.
What drone did you use? Thanks.
Hi Marc, you have the same last name as me! The drone I used was a DJI Phantom 2 with a H3-3D gimbal. Thanks for your comment.
How high up would you need to get the drone to see the Essex coast? Best off done at night.
Are you going to-do a new one now the whole site has improved?

Great video & soundtrack. Did you use FPV?
Na I didn't. It was all done 'blind'. Can't wait to have enough money to be able to do it though.
localhobo Makes the video even more impressive! I liked your nature reserve one as well. Very atmospheric...
i remember going there as a kid, it was so much fun, what happen to it
It was bought by a shady property developer who purposefully ran it down so he could close it and build houses on the site.

Poxy music
Here we go again... Kill joys going on about rules.
