      There was a game in the early nineties where that scenario almost played out. It was the mets vs somebody (I forget). They trailed by 10 in the ninth, and put up a nine spot. The last out was a sharp liner that would've tied it, but it was hit right at the shortstop.

    Bottom of the 9th, losing 12-1, two outs, need 11 to tie and 12 to win. That would be a game talked about for centuries.

      If the Rockies did this last night against the astros and they held the astros to not score in the bottom of the ninth, they would’ve won 15-14

      The braves did that but they was down by 5 or four i dont remember and they got a grand slam at the end to win it in 2010 i think

    This video is proof why stringing together a ton of base hits can be way better than clearing the bases with a home run.

      Sometimes home runs slow down a team’s momentum and then before you know it the inning is over without anymore damage.

    Where's the Red Sox vs. Marlins in 2003? Sox scored 14 in the 1st, scored 10 before an out was even made, Johnny Damon had 3 hits.

    Tigers scored 13 in the 9th inning in Texas back in 2001. Game was tied at 6 going into the 9th and the Tigers won 19-6, so it was a 13 run 9th inning.

    Two missing Phillies games - 12 runs in the 1st against Washington at home on April 8, 2017, and a 13-run 4th against the Reds in Cincinnati on April 13, 2003. Yes, 13 in the 4th on the 13th day of the 4th month. The final score in that one was 13-1. It set a team record, and possibly even a major league record, for most runs scored in an inning in a game in which the team didn't score in any other inning.

    I remember watching my rangers put up 16 in an inning on Baltimore. Probably around 95-96. Then about 10 years later, they scored 30 in one game. Also against Baltimore.

      Wesley Antrim No I wasn't at the game, I was supposed to be but couldn't because I started my current job. I'll never forget my grandma's friend calling and telling us the score. Turned it on to see the final three run home run. Hate to say it but even as an oriole fan I was half laughing.

    So Joe Buck is even bored during a 12 run inning? Cheese and rice that guy puts no life, energy, or creativity into anything he announces.

    • @sportsmaster1364
      @sportsmaster1364 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      He's gotten better and more enthusiastic lately, but yes, for a time there, he was pretty monotone.

    • @eternalreign2313
      @eternalreign2313 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      He says he sees all the criticism about him online and even gets a lot in person, so maybe he's trying to better himself, but even that's not working. He's still awful, especially when he's calling NFL games. It's beyond me how an announcer can be so hated, unpopular, and be as boring and lifeless as this guy and end up on the #1 announcing crew at a such a young age. Can you say nepotism? I think FOX expects the same kind of magic from him that they think his dad had, but it just isn't happening because Jack Buck wasn't all that great either.
      I remember the '91 World Series between the Twins and Braves and Jack Buck was so biased in favor of the Braves and dull as a play by play guy that he made one of the most exciting WS ever seem like he was watching paint dry. Puckett hit one of the most clutch HR in WS history to win game 6 and all we got was a dull unimaginative, "and we'll see you tomorrow night" which was laced with disappointment.
      Jack Buck and Tim McCarver were so bad/biased in fact that after me and some friends drove down to the dome after Game 7 to celebrate, we decided to make our way over to their trailer behind the dome. Not to our surprise there was already a large crowd gathered around heckling and chanting how they sucked. It was glorious lol.
      So I still don't understand how Joe Buck got to where he is today. He sucks like his father, he's very unpopular, he's boring, unimaginative, lifeless, and he's ruined so many fantastic moments in sports as a result. Just watch any of these videos like this on YT which are some great moments in sports and it's like calling the play is just something Buck is doing in the background as he works on his brony costume for the next brony convention.

    • @baseballcinema
      @baseballcinema 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a game I've been requesting to get from MLB for some time now. April 19, 1996 Orioles at Rangers in Arlington. Rangers were leading 10-7 going into the bottom of the 8th. Then, they tacked on 16 more runs in that 8th inning, including 4 consecutive walks with the bases loaded, highlighted by a Kevin Elster grand slam. An absolute implosion, to put it lightly, by that '96 Orioles bullpen.

    • @fryncyaryorvjink2140
