Jungkook was 13 years old when he joined as a trainee and 15 years old when they debuted. The Korean age system has always been different from the rest of the world until they changed it to the international system this year. In Korea when you are born you are 1 years old and when the baby’s first new year comes you turn 2 year old and by the time your first actual birthday comes you turn 3 years old. So, when you watch their documentaries and the member mentions their age you need to subtract 2 years. It is my belief that Korea changed the age system to international system due to BTS and their popularity. The international fans were so confused about their age system that they decided to go with what is the norm. I think that it’s a good idea to start from the beginning because you will be amazed with the progression. I’m also glad that you are going to watch Taylor’s guide. If you are going to start from the beginning I also suggest you incorporate the document- series called the rise of Bangtan. This is the most comprehensive documentary about BTS and it takes you back to prior to their debut. I believe there are 22 chapters and each chapter is about 20 minutes long. This documentary was done by an army who’s name is Aneesa and she is brilliant and admirable as she spent so much of her time to do this documentary. She was planning to do more than 22 chapters however when she found out that Disney was going to do an extensive documentary she stopped. She was extremely upset however I found out from another army that she eventually got hired by Disney. She deleted all of her contents and we really don’t know why as she has stayed quiet about it.
BTS are a very versatile group, they do pop, HipHop, ballad, RnB, Latin pop, etc. BTS also have 3 rappers and 4 vocalist. The rappers are RM, j-hope, and Suga. The vocalist are Jimin, V, Jin, and Jungkook. BTS are the group who introduced the world to kpop. BTS started from the bottom, When they first debuted, BTS and their agency, Big Hit Entertainment, were considered small players in the world of K-pop (during this time kpop wasn’t worldwide it was mostly just listened to in Korea). As a result, they struggled to get recognized among their more established peers. Other kpop groups even looked down on them and mocked them without any reason. And yet BTS managed to be bigger than the Kpop industry itself and that’s why many army’s don’t view them as Kpop since they go beyond that. BTS even made their small company which was about to go through bankrupt, become the biggest company that they even have other groups in their company such as New Jeans and that company (HYBE but used to be just Bighit) also goes beyond kpop now, they signed Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, etc. BTS also write their own music and they also produce. BTS also has two professional dancers which are j-hope and Jimin. Also RM and Suga were underground rappers before debuting in BTS. They went through many hardships, I really hope u get to know them and their music more 🫶 I would recommend reacting to the guide to the BTS members by Taylor and also watch the series of the rise of bangtan 💜💜💜

I love my baby JK. I’m also a baby ARMY. I accidentally got into them when one of my FB friends posted a concert of them November of 2021. From then on, I’m literally “obsessed “ with them esp with JK. I went to my first concert in Las Vegas then followed Jhope in lollapaloza and recently Suga in Oakland. I can’t believe how massive they are here in the states. I can’t wait for JK’s solo concert coz he’s the most famous of them all. Thanks for the reaction guys💜

I got to know BTS through a very random watch through of their videos because I only looked them up out of curiosity and I had NO idea I would become a fan, so I didn’t have any orderly or documented process. Sadly I can’t even recall what I watched early on. I do know I didn’t make it to No More Dream and the other early stuff until I was already a big fan, and a few songs like Blood, Sweat, and Tears really made me know I wasn’t turning back. ❤
Actually I saw a video of all of them doing that move and I nearly lost my shit to see Suga and Jin's abs. They seem the most reserved on that stuff so I feel like I'm doing something wrong by looking. 🤣
Their name is Bangtan Sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boyscouts) and their logo was a bulletproof vest. They were originally supposed to be a hip hop group only, but their label changed their mind in the end became more of an idol group. But were free to write their own music according to their lives and feelings. Their first songs were about teenage issues related to school, pursuing your own dreams instead of your parents’ or society’s, or not having a dream at all… they were relating to the kids their own age at the time. “No More Dream” was their first song where they told kids it was ok to not have a dream yet and to not want to follow other people’s dreams. Their next songs were “NO”and “We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal”.
They were 15 - 20 years old in this. In the Taylor guide they will mention older ages, but that is because they counted age differently in S Korea until just recently when they switched to global age counting. Previously, they considered you one year at birth and another year at the new year, even if you were born at the end of December, like V. So you could be a few days old and would still be considered 2 years old. You can always just use their birthdates given in the Taylor guide to figure out how old they are now or were in 2013. Jungkook is 25 now and will be 26 in September. So Jungkook was 13 when he moved into the dorm with the guys, still in middle school, and he was 15 when they debuted with this song. V and Jimin were 17. RM was 18. Suga and j-hope were 19 and Jin was 20.
I wish I knew about them back then just to give support... they went through some really tough times. Did you know they came to LA to learn more about hip hop (RM and SUGA grew up loving old-school American rap) Even got to ride around with Warren G... he bought them hats and he produced a music video for them! S Korea has the highest suicide rate in the 10-19 age range in the world. So this song is encouraging them to find and fight for their own dreams and reasons for living. They are well known for writing bangers in various styles that are great music while also being lyrically really powerful and profound messages, with messages on everything from history, to socio-political issues, to psychological theory, philosophy, mental health, personal struggles, and more, inspired by literature, art, culture, world events and so on. They are brilliant. Their early logo was the bulletproof vest and there is a lot of gun noise and imagery used in earlier music and choreography, and also lyrical references to bullets, bulletproof etc. It is always in reference to facing all the challenges and pressures and remaining strong and still standing, both for themselves and as a shield and voice for others, especially ARMY.

It’s time for y’all to watch Taylor’s Guide to BTS. There are 3 rappers (RM, Suga, and J-Hope). 4 vocalists (Jung Kook - also raps in earlier songs, Jin, V (the blonde) and Jimin). In the guide, when JK is talking about his age when he joined being 15, he is talking about Korean age, which was different than international at the time. He was actually 13, I think. He was 15 when they debuted. V and Jimin are the next youngest. They are both almost two years older than JK. The video will tell you what you need to know. It was so fun watching y’all try to figure out who the members were. I, too, got Jimin and Suga mixed up at first. And there were times that I got Jin, JK and V mixed up. RM is the only one I didn’t get confused with anyone else. It’s a learning curve.

The guide just gives you a background on each member and how they got into the group. They have so much content they have 10 years of albums, they have mini albums. That just music they also have a variety show called run BTS. They have vacation shows called in the SOOP. They have a show that shows behind the scenes stuff called bangtan bombs. Its slot of content. They also have dance practice videos of most of their songs not all. Oh not all of their songs have music videos. If you watch the guide it will tell you this stuff and more. It doesn't play their songs but like little snips.
This is why the guide is SO helpful and I promise it does not feel like a spoiler! 😂You guys Crack me up. They change their looks even throughout the one video. 😅 As others have said: Rapline- RM, Suga, J-Hope Vocal- JK, V, Jin, Jimin They all do so much and aren't in one box though as I've said before. You will also learn who is each member and what they bring into the group. Something you definitely need to know is that BTS is family. They lived together for more than 10 years and it was not until 2021/2022 that they each got their own place. Also Korea had a different age system than all of us so when JK says he is 15 yes old he was 13yrs old. But watch the guide. Trust me we love watching reactions to the guide.

BTS were still different in how hungry they were, and their message was on levels beyond their years. I think bouncing around is the best choice don't put too much thought into the BU storyline and chronological order. If you see a video you wanna watch, watch it. The Guide is still a necessary step, I just felt like it was too early only 2 videos in, alot of us watched guides when we first joined. It could also help you find out which path you want to explore.

First rule, do not try to learn members by hair color. In this video, their outfits and hair switch. Y’all so wrong so many times 😂, I remember those days. I only started my journey 2 years ago. I know y’all think watching the Taylor guide would be cheating, but i think it is necessary to really move forward on your journey if you are serious. Just watching their videos will not help you learn their names. Fans in the beginning, watched their Livestreams and other content to get to know the members. Y’all need to fast track a bit. Even with the guide, it will still take awhile to pick each member out in the videos.

Their albums follow their growth and experience. They started with their experiences as adolescents . You might want to listen to tiny desk concert as it gives an overview of their songs progression that can show how their music changed. And how good they are. Also BTS festa 2021. Also watching a medley of their live performances from their concerts will tell you a lot about who they are as artists through their stage presence. You need that overview to be the backdrop before you go into Taylor's guide. After that decide if you want to go album by album BTS as a whole than progress to each members solos. or go through the discography of their songs. Warning: Their B sides songs and Japanese songs are amazing and you should at certain points go down those routes because there are many gems that showcase their vocals, lyricism and their take on social phenomenon which make BTS who their are. That's my take. And then when you realise the depth of BTS music and lyrics, go back and watch these videos again that on the surface may look funny and sound different because they are in a language we may not be used to but underneath hold important social commentary about issues which can be interpreted into anyone's daily lives. That's when you realise why you are an army and why you have to be. If you are a person with a musical background, you will come to appreciate the genius of their lyrics and music even more. Outro Tear might be a good one to try to wet your taste with while you think about things. Truth untold and house of cards will show you the power of the vocal line. Whalien will haunt you. And listen to V's solo songs Singularity and Stigma for a different vibe. But OT7 solos are offer so much and you wouldn't believe that this is from one group.
I didn’t watch the guide until I had really watched quite a lot of their videos. I was already very fond of each of them and really intensely curious to learn more details of their backgrounds. It’s hard to say what the “right” way to do it is. If you just watch what you want to watch as your stumble upon things then that strikes me as the most natural way, at least that’s what I did, clicking on suggested videos and reading video comments that sometimes made me want to do specific searches.

SPOILER OR NOT, you need to see the taylors guide at some point in order to fully understand their group storyline and parallel universe throughout the album. *They were ages 15 to 20 during that era … JIN was 20 and JUNGKOOK was 15 years old which this was his rapping era as well.* Also back then there was not need for captions until they started entering into the mainstream with this aggressive concept which was the only way they knew how to grab our attention because majority of us born Americans grow up in and around the old school culture of the hiphop/rap and such into the now known fusion of music and dancing.
TIP: If you want subtitles on their older songs you need to get them from the TH-cam channel 1theK. It's just as official and safe to react to. It wasn't until later they started their current YT channel and they didn't bother with subtitles on the oldest songs. 💜😉👍💜

RM and Suga came from underground rap and had names there - Suga also had learned something about song production in a small studio. J-Hope was a dancer on a dance crew called Neuron, even won a competition on the national level. Jimin also was successfull at dance battles but did a bit more formal modern dance. The guide WOULD help. To get accurate subtitles for their first few songs use the channel *1theK* - they have also more accurate translations for "Fire" - which is kinda important. If you want to understand how revoutionary BTS were (for their time) in Idol Music (and the world - I'm really not joking about that) try bby gang mag "BTS: More than K-pop" Try, please. I definitely agree with going chronologically, it's nice to watch them grow up that way. But i do recommend also trying to fit some of their solo stuff along the journey. J Hope, RM and Suga have a lot of solo music. they released mixtapes early on, so it's worth going through that too. Especially if you're interested in their ""rebellious side"". That being said, BTS as a whole, since their debut, were breaking the social norms in the k-pop industry with their lyricism since they focused a lot on korean stigmas in school culture and mental health. So in that context, you could consider them a rebellious group

I love my baby JK. I’m also a baby ARMY. I accidentally got into them when one of my FB friends posted a concert of them November of 2021. From then on, I’m literally “obsessed “ with them esp with JK. I went to my first concert in Las Vegas then followed Jhope in lollapaloza and recently Suga in Oakland. I got to know BTS through a very random watch through of their videos because I only looked them up out of curiosity and I had NO idea I would become a fan, so I didn’t have any orderly or documented process. Sadly I can’t even recall what I watched early on. I do know I didn’t make it to No More Dream and the other early stuff until I was already a big fan, and a few songs like Blood, Sweat, and Tears really made me know I wasn’t turning back. ❤

Their name is Bangtan Sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boyscouts) and their logo was a bulletproof vest. They were originally supposed to be a hip hop group only, but their label changed their mind in the end became more of an idol group. But were free to write their own music according to their lives and feelings.
Their first songs were about teenage issues related to school, pursuing your own dreams instead of your parents’ or society’s, or not having a dream at all… they were relating to the kids their own age at the time. “No More Dream” was their first song where they told kids it was ok to not have a dream yet and to not want to follow other people’s dreams. Their next songs were “NO”and “We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal”.
They were 15 - 20 years old in this. In the Taylor guide they will mention older ages, but that is because they counted age differently in S Korea until just recently when they switched to global age counting. Previously, they considered you one year at birth and another year at the new year, even if you were born at the end of December, like V. So you could be a few days old and would still be considered 2 years old.
You can always just use their birthdates given in the Taylor guide to figure out how old they are now or were in 2013. Jungkook is 25 now and will be 26 in September.
So Jungkook was 13 when he moved into the dorm with the guys, still in middle school, and he was 15 when they debuted with this song. V and Jimin were 17. RM was 18. Suga and j-hope were 19 and Jin was 20.
I wish I knew about them back then just to give support... they went through some really tough times. Did you know they came to LA to learn more about hip hop (RM and SUGA grew up loving old-school American rap) Even got to ride around with Warren G... he bought them hats and he produced a music video for them! The meaning is about being impervious to the criticisms, prejudice and hate that flies like bullets at young people. Their lyricism was incredibly political, right out of the gate and they were controversial and took a lot of heat from those in power. This song is referring to all the pressure on S Korean students who don’t have any dreams of their own and are just striving to reach goals their elders set for them, to the point of despair. S Korea has the highest suicide rate in the 10-19 age range in the world. So this song is encouraging them to find and fight for their own dreams and reasons for living.
They are well known for writing bangers in various styles that are great music while also being lyrically really powerful and profound messages, with messages on everything from history, to socio-political issues, to psychological theory, philosophy, mental health, personal struggles, and more, inspired by literature, art, culture, world events and so on. They are brilliant.
Their early logo was the bulletproof vest and there is a lot of gun noise and imagery used in earlier music and choreography, and also lyrical references to bullets, bulletproof etc. It is always in reference to facing all the challenges and pressures and remaining strong and still standing, both for themselves and as a shield and voice for others, especially ARMY.

In the guide, when JK is talking about his age when he joined being 15, he is talking about Korean age, which was different than international at the time. He was actually 13, I think. He was 15 when they debuted. V and Jimin are the next youngest. They are both almost two years older than JK. The video will tell you what you need to know.
It was so fun watching y’all try to figure out who the members were. I, too, got Jimin and Suga mixed up at first. And there were times that I got Jin, JK and V mixed up. RM is the only one I didn’t get confused with anyone else. It’s a learning curve.

That just music they also have a variety show called run BTS. They have vacation shows called in the SOOP. They have a show that shows behind the scenes stuff called bangtan bombs. Its slot of content. They also have dance practice videos of most of their songs not all. Oh not all of their songs have music videos. If you watch the guide it will tell you this stuff and more. It doesn't play their songs but like little snips.

They lived together for more than 10 years and it was not until 2021/2022 that they each got their own place. Also Korea had a different age system than all of us so when JK says he is 15 yes old he was 13yrs old.

First rule, do not try to learn members by hair color. In this video, their outfits and hair switch. Y’all so wrong so many times 😂, I remember those days. I only started my journey 2 years ago. I know y’all think watching the Taylor guide would be cheating, but i think it is necessary to really move forward on your journey if you are serious. Just watching their videos will not help you learn their names. Fans in the beginning, watched their Livestreams and other content to get to know the members. Y’all need to fast track a bit. Their albums follow their growth and experience. They started with their experiences as adolescents . You might want to listen to tiny desk concert as it gives an overview of their songs progression that can show how their music changed. And how good they are. Also BTS festa 2021. Also watching a medley of their live performances from their concerts will tell you a lot about who they are as artists through their stage presence. You need that overview to be the backdrop before you go into Taylor's guide. After that decide if you want to go album by album BTS as a whole than progress to each members solos. or go through the discography of their songs. Warning: Their B sides songs and Japanese songs are amazing and you should at certain points go down those routes because there are many gems that showcase their vocals, lyricism and their take on social phenomenon which make BTS who their are. That's my take. And then when you realise the depth of BTS music and lyrics, go back and watch these videos again that on the surface may look funny and sound different because they are in a language we may not be used to but underneath hold important social commentary about issues which can be interpreted into anyone's daily lives. That's when you realise why you are an army and why you have to be. If you are a person with a musical background, you will come to appreciate the genius of their lyrics and music even more. Outro Tear might be a good one to try to wet your taste with while you think about things. Truth untold and house of cards will show you the power of the vocal line. Whalien will haunt you. And listen to V's solo songs Singularity and Stigma for a different vibe. But OT7 solos are offer so much and you wouldn't believe that this is from one group.

I didn’t watch the guide until I had really watched quite a lot of their videos. I was already very fond of each of them and really intensely curious to learn more details of their backgrounds. It’s hard to say what the “right” way to do it is. If you just watch what you want to watch as your stumble upon things then that strikes me as the most natural way, at least that’s what I did, clicking on suggested videos and reading video comments that sometimes made me want to do specific searches.
I don't think they are researching on their own though. The guide answers so many of their questions.

I definitely agree with going chronologically, it's nice to watch them grow up that way. But i do recommend also trying to fit some of their solo stuff along the journey. J Hope, RM and Suga have a lot of solo music. they released mixtapes early on, so it's worth going through that too. Especially if you're interested in their ""rebellious side"". That being said, BTS as a whole, since their debut, were breaking the social norms in the k-pop industry with their lyricism since they focused a lot on korean stigmas in school culture and mental health. So in that context, you could consider them a rebellious group
