The 80s where times when animatronics where very popular List of animatronics from the 80s (that where popular) 1 Chuck E Cheese animatronics 2 Showbiz Pizza Animatronics 3 Teddy Ruxpin and Grubby
Showbiz pizza animatronics were actually creative engineering animatronics, and creative engineering allowed showbiz to use them. (Not being mean, just informing)
Five Nights At Freddy's turned this sorta stuff from mildly unsettling and creepy to full-blown nightmare fuel, LOL. And yet fursuits/mascot costumes DON'T weird me out. Doesn't make any sense, but I guess fear is a very illogical creature. XD
I believe animatronics scare you because they move around like a human, but aren't alive so there's a disconnect there. You know a fursuit or mascot costume has a person inside, so they have an excuse for "acting alive."
Another understandable thing is that animatronics are basically 'robots'. So some folks might be a little scared of such things simply because of that fact. When i was twelve, i used to get really freaked out over Fatz at Showbiz Pizza Place. I was convinced that big ape on stage was real...and it was spooky.
No, don't leave Loonie Bird out in the rain! Drive out to Walmart and pick up a tarp and two mop handles first, then stick the mop handles into the ground or whatever, then run the tarp between the garage door and the mop handles. At least you might keep the rain off of Loonie Bird that way. :(
Thanks...glad to hear you have been enjoying. I do not personally own this particular show...all of this belong to a friend. I helped him restore the cosmetic appearance of the characters, and also lend my eye to the project to ensure the movements and appearance were historically correct for the 1981 PTT time period.
Burt Gaming teddy ruxpin is being remade, could you please stop going on about teddy ruxpin? Theres more important things than a animatronic story telling bear.
They might be creepy when they're deactivated (or maybe when they're active in your case) but they aren't going to hurt you. I personally think animatronics are amazingly cool.
Point of view: Wake up it's 2007 !! You have to go help Jen Mike Manuchia!! To restore ptt bots in mikes garage (you have now unlocked cybervsion control system)
Ah, neato! So these are the original CEC animatronics from Pizza Time Theater? Cyberamic.... That means these are different from Aaron's Creative Engineering ones (RAE) that were simply re-skinned/re-furred with CEC characters, right? Onto part two! :D
Yes, very different. The re-skinned figures you speak of were what CEC did to the Shows that used to be at former Showbiz locations. By the mid 1990s all former Showbiz locations had been phased out and turned into CEC locations. The old Rock-aFire figures at those location were re-skinned to look like CEC characters, much to many a fans' disgust. The figures shown in this video are pre-Showbiz figures in some respects, and designed by the folks at Pizza Time Theatre in the late 1970s. These are some of the first mass-produced versions of the original PTT Cyberamic figures. The Chuck E. shown in this video is the oldest model, dating from 1980/1981 based on it's unique frame setup. The others are all 1981/1982 models. Cyberamics were a completely different animation system then what was used at Showbiz Pizza Place, which was Creative Engineering's amazing 'Electronimation' system. Both used compressed air to power the character movements, but both used very different computer systems to control those movements.
Um one question I just found this vid again and um are they using the showbiz stage to make the old place or something cause then I’m sort of happy they’re making the old Chuck E. Cheese instead of making the new one with chuck, Helen, jasper, munch, Pasqually Sorry if I didn’t make sense
These were collected up over a period of years by the person who owns them ( not me ). He paid many thousands of dollars over that time period getting all the characters and original show controller parts he needed to assemble the complete Show. The various parts were all obtained privately through other fans and friends. I did a lot of restoration work on the figures, repairing the costumes and cleaning them inside and out extensively. The Show was a mess when it was first starting to come together ( first operation was during CheeseVention II in 2004, a fan convention that used to take place yearly ). The Show was very rough then...with little mechanical or cosmetic work able to be done. Much more time was put into it in later years to bring it up to a authentic standard of what it used to actually look like.
I see. I saw not too long ago a Computer, a set of black Warblettes, and a Jasper up for sale but I wasn't able to get my hands on it because I'd had to have driven out of state to get it. No I do not believe I am on the Forum yet

At the time that this was filmed, no, it was not. This Show originally belonged to someone else, a friend of mine who i had offered to help restore the characters.
Another differnce is the snouts. Older masks had pinker snouts, more promenant snouts, larger noses, and from the side the older ones look round, while newer ones look more straighht.
All true. Pizza Time Theatre era mask snouts were also made from different quality fabrics then 'Merger era' and later periods. The teeth were also made from different materials and were different sizes through then years.
@@CircusShowplace Yeah. the teeth looked thinner, so im guessing it's cardboard, especially since they often lost their teeth at locations and had to get them replaced. Another thing is the head was made smaller over time, and the mouths opened farther on PTT mechs.
