    I have used Creator for a year now and this tutorial is superb. I wish this had been available when I started, and so well presented. If this doesn't get uploaded to the Lighform Guide I'll be staggered. Well done.

    Thanks for the clear video, it covers all the basics very well. I would like to know how to use Adobe After Effect to create more costem made project assts in lightform. so use the scan of lightform and bring it to after effects to create effects and then bring it back to lightform and mix it with effects of lightform. I think this will bring the lightform to a professional level.

    Can this be used to do a Halloween projection show like yours?

    • @LumaBox
      @LumaBox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To some extent, yes. Although the LF is geared up more to use generated effects and generic media. The key to my shows is the use of animations which are custom designed to the shape of the house - LF can't really help you with that.

    Are you required to keep your LFC and projector set up wheels creating or can you scan something, go back to your computer and take all the time you want to create then go back to essentially the same projector location and rescan and apply Thais work with some minor adjusting and tweaking to the alignment?

    • @LumaBox
      @LumaBox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The amount of tweaking/minor adjusting required will depend on how exactly you are able to match the original scan position. My impression is that the developers envision you doing the creative work on site while the projector is in its final position -- the system is geared up to produce fast results.

    hey i need a free video mapping software for small family event. can you recomend me?

    • @LumaBox
      @LumaBox  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What are you hoping to do with the video mapping software? Eg what functions do you require? If you just need basic corner pinning you could check out my free tool LumaMap Lite. Another free option is MapMap but that is not actively developed and can be very buggy. There is also VPT but I don’t find it user friendly. If you don’t mind watermarks and other limitations you could explore free demos of the pro mapping software like MadMapper

    Hello, I have a lightform lf2 and I am looking to map video to the visor of a motorcycle helmet. Because the plane is rounded I am hoping I can use the depth map information to create a template for my video in order to counteract the distortion. Is this something the lightform software is capable of achieving?

    • @LumaBox
      @LumaBox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, you can use the in-built generators which will use the depth data to 'conform' to the 3d shape. But I don't think you can use the depth information to do the work of UV unwrapping your visor (unwrapping your 3d shape into a flat 2d net), which I think might be what you are getting at. But I might be wrong -- maybe ask in the Lightform user group over on Facebook or ask their support.

      @@LumaBox Thank you for replying, I recently bought the Dragontouch mini z1 mini projector.
      With android 7.1 of the projector I can set the image corner by corner and project having the device at the side of the bed, with this simple android application I can have a square or rectangle of the size I want while keeping the projector wrong with respect to the image projected on the wall, the problem is that with the mirroring or the android system of the projector I lose quality because the modem is far away.
      So I connect the hdmi cable, and if I had a square / rectangle / big or small before, a parallelogram appears ... (obviously, if the projector is wrong ...) if I could save the screen settings making them be the original ones or if I could find a light and simple application like android I would have solved most of the problem, there are software around for free but they require registration or a connection with cable, in short, further steps ... while on android of the projector, I go to the app, set the corners and open youtube for example ... I can also pay for a software but not the figures of the professional ones, one because I work and I don't have time and I want to tinker and two because I am much money . I need a simple thing to play and watch movies. I could also shell out some money but I would like to unlock the device, update it etc ... (if you are a geek let me know)
      however for the moment if I can solve the first problem it would be fine.

    • @LumaBox
      @LumaBox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can sort of be done, but not very straightforwardly -- this comes down to the fact that you can't corner pin surfaces (only content layers) in Lightform Creator. My shop content is designed to work more with traditional mapping workflows using software like MadMapper, Resolume, etc.
