Pre-ordered it for 40, saw videos of it and canceled the order. You can get a used 74g gopro 3+ for the same money so went with that instead. It's not 10g but it is below 50g without the battery.
@@IdShift Probably. Xiaomi yi 2k is 33g decased without mounts, because it has a metal backplate. The GP3+ black is 47g without the battery but the case on. With the case it just needs a strap and softpad for mounting, decased cameras usually require 3d printed specific mounts.
If not for the gyro and now working firmware, this would barely justify $20 given the bottom-line cam it has, on par with a cheap cell phone or laptop camera. Blackbox gyro data + split cam would give just as good or better results and still have Gyroflow stability as an option.
I ordered one a while back still not in stock... But for this price its doing quite well I think and the footage is better than the DVR of any analog camera :) and I fly only Micros so the light weight is a plus! Thanks for the review Nick.
Nice little camera for the money. Although, I feel it is not a huge upgrade from a Nebula Pro if you are already using DJI. On an analog quad though, it would be on my shopping list.
Nick, your stabilized video looks very shaky, and I think you may have forgotten to auto-sync in GyroFlow. I updated mine to FW 2.1, and (for some reason) I'm able to get 1080p60 with gyro data. (... Mostly. I think my memory card is glitchy or too slow. I'll try another, but it is at least possible to do.) I have used GyroFlow to get stabilized output (with lens correction and about 0.03 pitch and 0.05 yaw/roll) at a resolution of 3024x1080 with minimal punch-in. It looks rather respectable (way smoother than what you see in this video as "stabilized"; see first point above). The lens correction stretches edge pixels, and for FPV, those pixels fly by real quick and usually end up motion blurred, so stretching doesn't really artifact in a noticeable way.
The fact that changing the exposure value in the configuration file does nothing and that the "daylight" white balance doesn't seem to be 5500k or 5600k is a little concerning. Auto white balance is by far the best of the options, but mostly because the other options are terrible.
I am pretty certain I have the auto-sync with 10 points set on all the flights. I redid the gyroflow a number of times experimenting with different options.
Awesome flying and review, Nick! 😃 Pretty nice little camera! Maybe there's a v2 coming with 2.7k recording? Hmmm... 🤔 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Its called Jello, Not JELLY, been in this for 15 years and we started way back then with the word "Jello" in analog crappy camera's, Jelly is just stupid new term, it doesnt have a "Jelly" look but like a Jello' giglle or real video filmers call it zJitter, not these cell phone want a be's but a Real DSLR camera that can blow away any Cell phone cheap super small lens, cell phones cant preform anywhere a 1 inch sensor can or a 4/3 sensor, on a 52mm lens and 50x analog zoom, NON digital, Jelly, really!!!
lol, it is a concern as I have yet to desire the time to water proof. A few years back one quad did so into the neighbors pool. I might end up repeating. I am hopeful the pool cover is adequate to keep the damage down.

No better image than an onboard 2-in-1 SD cam. Heavier too. Gyroflo is bugged & flawed, and it takes 45min to render 5 minutes of footage. Mine sits in a drawer, because it's more trouble than it's worth. Save your money for a Peanut. You get what you pay for!

You didnt manage thr exposure, that is way overblown highlights. Thumb massively over exposes, and we expect a video where we can expect what kind of quality video thumb can really produce.
I’m glad to see there are more objective comments here. Sorry but this camera is trash and it’s not money well spent when there’s other options with gyroflow that can yelled better results. If this is marked for social media, your video will be trash to almost everyone who watches.😂 It could be nostalgic for a moment but will brake and there is so much better. But experiencing these things in real life and not living through others opinions is more important. Don’t limit tourself to this cost effective product.
the 2 comparisons of gyroflow vs none seem reversed, the comparison, side by side view.... the non stabilized has nearly no vibration/jello and the stabilized is like michael j foxx filmed it.

Can someone link em to me pls ?
Has anyone put a gyro into an FPV camera yet? Runcam racer 5?
How to fix image shake?
Try processing through gyroflow
Nice camera. Nick Better get some of your drone ready for swimming
Pre-ordered it for 40, saw videos of it and canceled the order. You can get a used 74g gopro 3+ for the same money so went with that instead. It's not 10g but it is below 50g without the battery.
wondering if anyone has decased hero3.
@@IdShift Probably. Xiaomi yi 2k is 33g decased without mounts, because it has a metal backplate. The GP3+ black is 47g without the battery but the case on. With the case it just needs a strap and softpad for mounting, decased cameras usually require 3d printed specific mounts.
wow. I just found this video - th-cam.com/video/TuEsCPylQxs/w-d-xo.html the quality is excellent.
sure and my Caddx Peanut does even better than that gopro 3+ by a mile with the Gyro flow state on it.
@@thxkid Not by much, though. And it has the same jello problem all the Gos have.
If not for the gyro and now working firmware, this would barely justify $20 given the bottom-line cam it has, on par with a cheap cell phone or laptop camera. Blackbox gyro data + split cam would give just as good or better results and still have Gyroflow stability as an option.
I have one on way in mail and should be here next week 😁
Neat! I wish I bought this when I started.
No upgrade at all! A downgrade, as the Nebula Pro looked better in all facets of the video!
Oh no, the famous playground has been swapped for a pool of watery drone death! ;)
Pretty nice little camera! Maybe there's a v2 coming with 2.7k recording? Hmmm... 🤔
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
It’s a pretty nice cam. The picture quality is fair.
When it comes with a battery, I will consider it !
The camera is unique, with high jelly resolution.
😆
Its called Jello, Not JELLY, been in this for 15 years and we started way back then with the word "Jello" in analog crappy camera's, Jelly is just stupid new term, it doesnt have a "Jelly" look but like a Jello' giglle or real video filmers call it zJitter, not these cell phone want a be's but a Real DSLR camera that can blow away any Cell phone cheap super small lens, cell phones cant preform anywhere a 1 inch sensor can or a 4/3 sensor, on a 52mm lens and 50x analog zoom, NON digital, Jelly, really!!!
I neglect cameras because I fly so small and light but this one is a good consideration!
Propsoff sent me
I would like to have seen it with the ND filter in place.
Hi Nick, for the price, the weight, small, perfect 😉🌈👍
I really want some jelly now 😬
It's 10grams... that's flicking awesome
I hate to say it Nick but how many quads do you think you are going to loose in that pool 😂
He can afford to loose a few 😆 I bet we'll see him doing touch-and-go on the water.
Well it could also be a blessing,he can now do reviews on waterproof drones ,boats and submarines!
lol, it is a concern as I have yet to desire the time to water proof. A few years back one quad did so into the neighbors pool. I might end up repeating. I am hopeful the pool cover is adequate to keep the damage down.
@@NickBurnsFPV let’s hope so
The price and size are soooo great....but the update needed at purchase instantly set me off. I don’t have a computer so anything needed that I can’t do from my phone kills the items that need them.
Maybe it could be done with an otg cable from a phone?
@@NickBurnsFPV Android maybe, I have an iPhone and they are pretty limited in letting OTG stuff work with them....I’ll keep my eyes out though for a solution.
Thanks
No better image than an onboard 2-in-1 SD cam. Heavier too. Gyroflo is bugged & flawed, and it takes 45min to render 5 minutes of footage. Mine sits in a drawer, because it's more trouble than it's worth. Save your money for a Peanut. You get what you pay for!
take my money!
Uhhohh.. You gotta be more locked in to the sticks now that pool is back there lol
yep, eventually there will be a cover. until this its a bit risky with the rain water sitting in the bottom
I love this little camera ❤ (especially with GF data)
Sounds pretty good for the price.
and yes and no haha for myself i cant find a use of this. i find even mobula6 hd is better to me, if talking budget analog. or i would follow you and make a dji tinywhoop as in your last week video. but seems good for gyro data for those who need that. but definitely takes its place on the market in this category which is almost empty :D
i see 45k subs, almost coming to 50 now
Nebula Pro looks better lol..
For $50, there's little to complain about, I like it. If they were handling them out free, some would still complain.
Jello - How about not liking all that jello? heehee! :(
Excellent
You didnt manage thr exposure, that is way overblown highlights. Thumb massively over exposes, and we expect a video where we can expect what kind of quality video thumb can really produce.
Why is the color so washed out?
Better than session 5
I’m glad to see there are more objective comments here.
Sorry but this camera is trash and it’s not money well spent when there’s other options with gyroflow that can yelled better results.
If this is marked for social media, your video will be trash to almost everyone who watches.😂
It could be nostalgic for a moment but will brake and there is so much better.
But experiencing these things in real life and not living through others opinions is more important.
Don’t limit tourself to this cost effective product.
Disappointing colors. Maybe better with ND filter on? Also should have a cube shape, not look like some Webcam. Good price though.
the 2 comparisons of gyroflow vs none seem reversed, the comparison, side by side view.... the non stabilized has nearly no vibration/jello and the stabilized is like michael j foxx filmed it.
Good review so well in fact , I'll stick with my #32 Key cam and about $10 bucks less than the thumb. I am not into video guru, got to have excellence on YT stuff so cheaper is better for me....Lol
BANGGOOD just got stock and shipped mine 3/31.
why are the colors so washed? not bad for $50, though, NGL :)
