Stumbled upon your video and it was exactly our problem, too. Wrapping tape around the end of the stick before taping the bolt to it, seemed to make the tape stick better to both bolt and stick. (End caps on '08 ford f150 just had clips that held in place and could be reattached easily) Thank you!
@@DoitTg Very clever. Although I am glad I have running boards that are welded to the brackets. One less thing to come loose. My problem is the think rocker panel that is cracking and that is going to take some welding ect.
discovered mine have no end caps, im still trying to find a way to make a repair. same problem you had but no way to mount the running board to the bracket.

thank you. i got same issue and welding aluminum nut to chrome board was not an option. You save me few hundred bucks with this simple tip

So the end caps do come off
Yes, they do come off. There is a screw at the bottom that you need to remove.

See if you can find anything like drywall anchors. have to be strong enough.
