Helpful video, won a rutus 71 at detectorcon in the raffle, I already have a ctx 3030 but this machine will be a great spare, just need to get my head around it, this video helps, cheers & all the best
Great vid - thanks for sharing. I have an Alter 71 too - You will get used to the tones & screen. The deep iron sounded just like deep iron, the hodograph and numbers confirmed it and the sound had a definate irony signature. I have also dug large iron that shows up with very high numbers 100+ and is 12" or more deep. Worth digging everything to understand the machine :)
Hedgehog Playz thanks for watching and your comment. I do love my Alter 71. I think mainly because I have an online following Rutus have asked me to be one of their team experts. I’m not an out and out Rutus expert but I have been detecting 30 years. I look forward to testing their next machine and hopefully helping grow the brand a lot.
Great vid mate. Never heard of them on this side. Sounds like you enjoyed it. Trigger for ground balance sounds like Fisher. Think will see you using it more
Nice video guide, you got me pumped up to finally get mine out of the box after three months and try it, I have been hesitating to use it because the lack of coil covers but as I opened the box and inspected the coils they are quite heavy duty so maybe there is no need for the coil covers, so I was kinda waiting for them to produce coil covers, seems there is no need because of the heavy-duty design. This machine looks very well built can't wait to try it out.
I find keeping iron volume on a low figure helps on iron object recognition.....just put it on 1 to 3 and it will give you the iron buzz at the edge. I noticed yours was set on 0 ...
I recognize that gent with the doormat 😀 Was that your dad in the video saying beep beep beep? I've actually not heard of your machine until seeing this video. But I am very new to metal detecting so 🤷 It looks to do a good job of it 👍
