Thanks! Yeah the TV coverage has been previously quite poor here in Finland as well. But the WRC+ All Live service is really good in my opinion (when there are no technical problems). Unfortunately there’s not going to be many events for the remaining WRC season.
In the U.S. They probably have too many security regulations and wouldn't allow the fans to help! Ive never seen a U.S. Rally other than Baja a long time ago. So I don't know how they work things.

I’m glad that you enjoyed! I try to capture the new Rally1 (WRC) cars this year when the Rally Finland is held at its typical time in early August.
Been there many times, you can never understand the noice and the power you feel when these machines come meters from you at full throttle, you need to feel it live, its so much better when you are standing next to them...

I remember for this sentence every time when i see a rally car in the air.
Well you need to fly a bit if you want to be fast in Finland 🙂 And to my knowledge Röhl never raced in Finland because of that. Regarding the last jump in Ruuhimäki it is just a spectacle piece.

I love seeing them jump and the suspension hanging like 24 inches and they land and it's the softest landing you can imagine. Like nothing.
Their suspension travel used to be classified. I believe it's now limited.

国挙げてのビッグイヴェント〜この映像が良いところ個人的に映像がクリアーで(ワークスチームのラリーカーの足回りが鮮明にに見られる所が良い。
同じ(ルーズグラベルステージで有っても足回り設定が皆同じと言う事が良く分かる)
規定内のコンセプトは一緒=例えばタイヤを止めるボルト本数が5本は一緒だが！！
各チームのラリーカーの車体形状と主体性が違う故に(足回りの設計もコンセプトも皆違う)
ディスクプレートのサイズや冷却効果を上げる為に刻まれた数や形状も個々のチームでも違うしディスクブレーキの設定場所も違う。
ショックアブソーバーのストロークの長さもステージ毎でも違う。ショックアブソーバーを覆うスプリングの形状や太さそしてスプリングの巻いて居る数も違う。
オーバーフェンダーだろうが車体形状が違えばストロークの長さ=言わばジャンプした際のショックを吸収出来る容量と和らげ方も大きく違って来るしブレーキの冷却如何ではブレーキの効き方を大きく影響を及ぼす。
ストロークの短い物だと其れを取り巻くスプリングは当然短いかく成る。
そう成れば〜ジャンプした際の車重と落下時に生じる荷重の吸収が出来無く成る。
解決策はスプリングの太さを太くし剛性感のある柔軟性が必要に成る。
其処はチーム毎のノウハウで解決だけどその分車重が重く成る。
その影響に直結するのがトランスミッションのギヤ比です。
加速性を重視したミッションか？
トルク重視のミッションかと言う事です。
どちらか１つを犠牲にしなくてはいけ無い。
況してや、フィンランドの様にルーズグラベルステージdrは高速走行を要求されるステージですから尚更です。
思案所。
アヴァウトにワークスチームを分ければ(加速重視のガズーとヒュンダイ)と(トルク重視のフォードとシトロエン)ですから。
後はトランスミッションのギヤ比の選択での争いと言う事に成る。
大雑把に言えば〜(ターマック用のトランスミッション用とグラベル用のトランスミッションが有りステージ毎にギヤ比を細かく変えて居る分け)
この違いが車重を大きく作用する。
抜粋して言えば〜ギヤ比を変えるだけでもパワーユニットでパワーを出す際の(放射熱)が大きく変わる〜その放射根で悪影響を受けるのが配線です。
幾ら耐熱性に特化して居るとは言え走行中ですから最初と最後迄同じ状態って有り得ない事ですし事実オルタネーターやラジエターの急激な水温上昇とか蓄電出来無く成るとは考えられ無い事です。
枯れ草がマフラーに触れただけで発火して燃え上がるのですから。
パワーユニット内なら尚更です細かく配線されて動いているのが今のラリーカーの最新メカニズムですから。
シトロエンとヒュンダイと言う対照的なラリーカーでのフィンランドラリーでのルーズグラベルへの対応策が根本的に違うワークスチームだけに短い時間の映像だけど繰り返し観れる事で驚かされる事も有る。
素人は、短絡的に認識し其れが事実と思い込んでいるのが〜(フットブレーキやブレーキ)と言う物は(操作したら即反応すると思い込んでいる様だが)
ラリーでは其れは(状況で大きく変わると言う事だ〜ターマックでの効き方とグラベルでは全然効き方が根本的に違う)
と言うと言う事です。
其れもステージでも大きく変わります。
ステージ毎にブレーキの効き方を微調整するし1番大事なのは其れを操るラリードライヴァーの癖や性格に合わせて三者三様に異なると言う事です。
ステージが終わる毎にドライヴァーとメカニックは話ベストを模索するんです。
F1やオンロードレースとは、大きく違い面白いのがラリーの特徴が此処に有る訳です。
オンロードレースのターマックコースを繰り返して走るレースとは根本的に違う。
ラリーは第１に(同じコースを走ら無い)
第2に(刻々と変わる路面状況で同じ路面と言う事は無い。)
第3は(F1の様に前以てコースが分かり状況を把握して走り己自身で減り張りを付けられる程のラリーでは無いと言う事だ〜常にMAXで走行して気を抜ける瞬間が無い緊迫したラリーをして居るちっとした事が瞬時事故に繋がる様なタイトロープ状態だと言う事実をドライヴァ〜は把握して居るし覚悟や度胸を持って挑んで居ると言う事スタンスが抑違う)
意図的にブレーキの効き方を悪くし四輪ドリフトが出来る様にセッティングをして居るステージ毎に。
其れが、凄いのはドライヴァー毎でも四輪均等にセッティングしてい無いと言う事です
みんなステージで四輪のブレーキの効き方を変えて望んで居ると言う事。極端な例えでは(ステージでカヴァが右回りが多いのか左回りが多いのかでもブレーキのセッティングを変えます。)
ドライヴァーでも得意なドライヴァーも居ますから左回りカーヴが好きとか得意だとかと言うドライヴァーは。
使われる(ブレーキパットもピンからキリ迄用意されその上ソフトからハード迄有ります)
全てドライヴァーに合わせます。
ブレーキパットの効果も前後輪で皆一緒と言う事は無い。ステージの路面に合わせてブレーキパットを前後輪を変えて来ます。
例えば、グラベルでもどんな路面か(砂地なのか？/砂利道なのか？／泥地／粘土質なのか？)でブレーキパットを変えますしその際の駆動形式でパワーー配分をどうするかを路面状況で決めてからブレーキパットの種類を選択する訳です。
一例で言えば(砂利道や砂地)の場合はパワー配分は後輪駆動で臨みコーナーやカヴァは前輪のグリップ力を起点として攻略する訳です。
此れが、逆で粘土質や泥地の場合は、前輪駆動で対処して後輪を起点として攻略する訳です。
こんな芸当は素人では無理だし市販車のノーマルの四輪駆動の乗用車で100キロ以上の走行状態からフルブレーキングしたら四輪ロックして運転操作出来る状況では無い。
幾らアンチロックブレーキングシステム搭載と言っても順応出来無い世界。
況してや走行中に其れを状況に合わせてでの対応。又凄いのは、ワークスチームの財力故にいろんなバリエーションのブレーキからタイヤチョイスが出来ると言う事です。
弱小のプライベートチームでは無理。
無料での支給では無い領域ですから有料の領域。
WRCが無料で提供出来る範囲は極僅か。其れに預かれ無いチームも有る〜其れをフォローして救い上げて居る代表が(ピレーリー)と言うタイヤメーカーですが〜⤵️💭
ラリーなだけに其の性能の差が如実に表現される。
比較検討を客やファンにされて認識されると言う事ですしラリーの知識が豊富な玄人ばかりですし原因が何かも知っているから辛い。

Thanks! The video is shot with Sony's HXR-NX3 and NX80 cameras using external mics. One small handycam is used as a cold cam for the static shots.
Pardon my ignorance, but are the flags all Estonian? I don’t think I saw one Finnish flag in the entire video. I might be wrong and I’m sorry if I am.
Yeah most of them really are Estonian flags. I did carry a Finnish flag with me but I didn`t setup it in sight as I got stuck filming stuff :D I don`t know why we Finns carry so few flags to the rally. Maybe we think that they get in the way of seeing the cars? Or we just don`t care that much about cheering overall.

Why doesn't the WRC have any events in the US?
That is a good question. There is an American Rally Championship which is driven in the northern parts of the US if I’m not mistaken. So a WRC event could be arranged there. Maybe the people aren’t so interested in the sport?

Why do channels have great video and engine sounds but play horrible music over it?
The intro and outro sequences?? It’s a decent production/compilation of the weeks’ action. It’s a recognised editing tool and adds to the professionalism of the amount of footage captured and edited. It’s only for a minute at the start and end and is played over scenes shown again in the middle of the clip so you’re not missing out on much.

Kiva että pidit videosta. Kaikki videot on kuvattu Sonyn HXR-NX3:lla ja -NX80:llä. NX80 on ollut käytössä 2018 alkaen. Lisäksi molemmissa kameroissa on ulkoiset mikit, joilla saa hyvän äänenlaadun myös tuulisessa kelissä. Pari pikkukameraa toimii staattisina kylmäkameroina, joita voi laittaa mm. paikkoihin joissa ei itse voi kuvata.

Ruuhimäen lopun rakennettu osuus ja loppuhyppyri....toivottavasti ei mihinkään enää vastaavaa! Sillä rahalla olisi voinut edistää kilpailua ja/tai oheistoimintoja monella tavalla.
Tietääkseni sen maalihyppyrin on pitkälti rakentanu maansiirron opiskelijat, samoin varmaan sen koko loppuosuuden. Voin toki olla väärässä. Mielestäni se hyppyri on toimiva, mutta toki keinotekoista showta. Voisi olla paljon pahempikin, esim. joku ramppihyppyri, joita muissa ralleissa on näkynyt. Mutta kyllä itsekin toivon että laitetaan paukut esim. kunnon reittiin.

Either way,rally is not a cheap sport. Especially wrc. You need factory backing or else you won't make it. There's a reason only a few manufacturers run and only a limited number of drivers. Because the cost is insane. You're regular average person can't do this just because the costs are so high.
Let Peugeot build a factory in Gawadar if they want. Or even VW.

I wonder how these best rally car drivers feel when they get stuck on traffic jam on their way to work.
I guess they would first take the ”shortcut” through the smaller country roads. But in a city that would not be possible. And if completely stuck the feeling may be like after a race retirement. Like you just have to deal with it.
