What are the Vedas? That the Vedas are the very basis of the Indian ethos, their all-inclusive nature, and all-welcoming spirit is brought out in this episode. That this Vedic wisdom provides us the means to beatify individual life, uplift society, and integrate the totality is bring out in this episode. For introducing this beautiful concept, the scholarly Mughal prince Dara Shikoh has been chosen. The story begins with Aurangzeb arresting his elder brother Dara Shikoh. In prison, Dara Shikoh narrates to his son Sipihar Shikoh how he is inspired by his Master - Miyan Mir, to translate Upanishads into Persian, and how he goes to Kashi along with Pandit Chandrabhaan to learn this knowledge from Baba Laaldaas.

When 9.29 of Quran says "Fight those who don't believe in Allah" can be seen in two perspectives. When the Prophet Muhammad (PBUT) received this instruction, the pre-islamic Arab were fighting amongst themselves with lack of a true religion to unite them. Each tribe worshipped some element of nature or animal with bloody sacrifices that they killed other tribe members thinking they are satisfying their gods. Islam came as a uniting concept. So Allah says 'Fight them..' as the other tribes may dissuade people from a true uniting faith. Allah's power is love, compassion, kindness and wisdom..and truly these powers unite all humanity and hence also in the name of Allah. Fight doesn't mean attack or kill. The other perspective is to consider our internal enemies - anger, jealousy, hatred, fear, delusion, greed, lust and pride - with the support of faith in Allah.

Perhaps you have forgotten that Aryabhatta( 476 AD - 550AD)(1500 years ago, not 1400) declared 1000 years before Copernicus that Earth revolves around the sun, the cause of eclipse and that the Earth is round

बेटा---पर आप इस तरह इतने शांत कैसे हो सकते है अब्बाजान..... मौत हम दोनों के सामने खडी है, और आप इतने सकून से ....... मौत ही तो आख़री सकून है बेटा...
मौत का वक्त ही पिया से मिलन की घड़ी होती है........ मरना ताबूत में कैद होना नहीं है , वह तो आजाद हो जाना है ...... हमारी जिंदगी, पानी के एक बूद की तरह है ..... मेरे बूँद की तक़दीर में दो चीजे थी.... या तो यह बूँद, मोती बन कुछ दिनों चमक सकती थी .... या फिर यह बूँद अपने सागर में मिल सकती थी ..... जिस छोटी सी बूँद को इतना बड़ा समुन्दर बनने का मौका मिल रहा हो तो उसे ख़ुश होना चाहिए या दुखी........!!....दारा शिकोह और उसके बेटे की बीच बातचीत जेल में, जब वे औरेन्जेब के द्वारा बंदी बना लिए गए थे !

शहजादे, हिन्दुस्तानी मन को, दुनिया पर विजय प्राप्त करने वाले बड़े-बड़े योद्धा भी नहीं लुभाते ! उसे बड़े-बड़े सौदागर, बड़े-बड़े गुणों की खान वाले महानायक भी नहीं लुभाते !
फ़िर हिंदुस्तानी मन को, कौन लुभाता है पंडितजी---उसे तो खुद पर, विजय पाने वाले जितेन्द्रिय ही लुभाते हैं ! उसे आकर्षित करती है, पवित्रता ! इसलिए हिंदुस्तानी मन को, फकीर आकर्षित करते है, जो निर्धन है, पर पवित्र है ! उसे आकर्षित करते है, वो ऋषि, जो सतत आत्मा की उपासना में लगा हुआ है ! एक बात मेरी समझ नहीं आई पंडितजी, सदियों की लड़ाई और गुलामी के बाद भी यह देश कैसे बचा रहा ? शहजादे,- हिन्दुस्तान की तहजीत, समस्त मानव जीव के, आध्यात्मिक एकता के सिद्धांत पर टिकी है ! इसलिए कभी भीतर, तो कभी बाहर, की लडाइयों के बावजूद, ये देश जिन्दा रहा, तो सिर्फ इसलिए, क्योकि उसने अपने आत्मा की अमरता के संदेश को, पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी अपने जेहन में जिन्दा रखा ! आत्मा का विज्ञान ही, देश की शक्ति है ! इस देश का चरित्र है ! ऐसा नहीं है कि, यहाँ का हर व्यक्ति दार्शनिक था या आध्यात्मिक था ! ऐसा भी नहीं है, कि वह जीवन के रसों से , सुखों से बहुत दूर है ! पर यहाँ के आबो हवा में कुछ है कि हर आदमी खुद से यह सवाल करता कि मै कौन हूँ, मेरे जीवन का मकसद क्या है ? और अगर कभी वह यह बात भूल भी जाता है तो यहाँ के साधु-संत, फ़क़ीर, दर्वेश, उसे यह याद दिला देते है कि तू सोच, कि तुम कौन हो ?

I understand your emotions but it's kind of like a grey zone. From my point of view it's actually good that this part of Aurngazeb and Dara Shikoh was included. Because we still have great number of people who are fascinated with Aurangzeb and consider him an idol. Maybe it's good lesson for them to understand whom they are worshipping.
