As far as I see it, my coloring is my time so it doesn’t matter how long it takes me. As long as it brings me joy and helps my mental state that is all that matters.
Honestly, I am the slowest ever when it comes to coloring! That page probably would take me 36 hours.......also, color pencil is a super slow medium. I think though that is kinda the point for a lot of colorists....it takes their mind off of whatever ails them and they can get lost in the process.... Personally, I enjoy staying lost for long periods.
Please continue noting the names of your color choices like with this wolf. I’m not going to copy your work but it would help me to grow in my color choices and learn more. I never time myself I just color for awhile until I done with a part of the picture and feel refreshed when I come back to it.
DEFINATELY more than 12 hours. A one page Kerby page can take at least 9 hours at least. To save time I could use inktense to base the picture and then just go in to shade & highlight. Loved your werewolf!!! Much love *virtual hugs* xxx love from Perth Western Australia xxx
I love your channel. I don't think time matters or that you should time yourself in any creative outlet that you do. The whole point is to enjoy what you do and hopefully relax. I think setting a time limit or timing yourself just adds stress or anxiety. You are an amazing Colorist!! I only pray one year I can be half this good. It was interesting to see how long it took because Kerby's books are so very detailed. I enjoy how you talk through your process and choices.. It's stunning!!! Thank you so much for sharing your gift, your talent. Have a blessed weekend. 😊❤
I love hearing the crickets in the background! I like it better than the music . 😅. I am lucky if I can sit for fifteen minutes at my desk before pain sets in. I love your colour choices and hearing how you go about choosing them. I struggle with colour choices. I have three Kerby Rosanes books and I love every single page! I can’t wait until I collect the rest.❤❤❤🇨🇦
Nice video. Keep up the great work! That would have taken me at least 30 hours to colour. I love to draw, however... colouring has always been something I felt ruined the images I drew. When adding colour to my page, I typically through highlights and shadows out the window. If I even thought about them at all or even adding texture through layers / shades of colour. I have got back into colouring though since I've been working on something of my own. No page has been under 30 hours since getting back into colouring for me. I'm too.... picky or hard on myself that I may do more work than is needed. A page is never done. There's always something to add.
Stunning! I love how this turned out and now will be on the hunt for that coloring book. I have Animorphia and have yet to start coloring in it but i think ill give the book a try tonight to help wind down before bed.
Thank you for sharing this info. Like when I started in my world of bead weaving, I watched a ton of YT vids and bought a lot of materials. I was surprised at how small everything was and how much time it actually took! 😂 I love my beads and jewelry making but I also love coloring and learning about watercolor, etc. All of the coloring vids are hyper-speed or done in short segments so it doesn’t give a real indication of actual time...I shouldn’t expect myself to complete a huge piece in 30 minutes!
I really never care about the time it takes to color although I have looked at that from time to time . In the hole of it - it is a hobby and I go into a zen state and love it....... and I love your coloring too. Energy too I live in Shorewood Illinois I would love to learn from you . Do you mentor? Your in or near Chicago?
You amaze me! I am pretty slow when it comes to coloring and I have so many pictures in various stages of completion. My hand cramp up after about 30 mins lol. I guess I’ll continue to color vicariously through you. 💕 Hadassah
I too get some cramping in my fingers after a bit and often color in time blocks. Its probably good to take a break every bit of time anyway :) Thanks for watching!
I just love your channel. Always informative and you learning something and taking us a long. I will see if I can time myself, although it won't be a Kerby book.. they are just too overwhelming for me and can't take months to finish (I have to take long breaks to reset)
Honestly, I've just started my colouring journey and I think that would be about 3ish days broken up with breaks for my hand.... so 36? I really enjoy your videos. I cannot shade, always been hopeless but you are the best I've found for a novice hopeless, but determined colourer who wishes to learn and also be inspired.
Coloring for me is not a race. I have never actually timed myself but I color anywhere from 4 to 8 hours in a day and it generally takes me from 3 to 6 days to finish a single page. For what it’s worth, that was time well spent on that tree!
I can say tht I have never timed myself doing colorings, Especially Kerby Rosanes! I know it will take me a lot of time and I enjoy working on those double spreads. I did the chinese dragon in the same book and I know it took me at least 15-18 hours as I tend to critic myself way to much. I have been learning to except some things and just go with what comes out of it. I really do not mind the time, I just do not time myself anymore as it was taking the joy of the coloring down for me.
I don't really think of coloring in terms of hours. So it would be difficult for me to judge based on that. I have a lot of chronic pain everyday and cannot color long at any particular time. I take weeks to color double spreads. And I love getting lost in it so it doesn't bother me. And I don't judge whether it's worth it our not by the amount if time it takes per picture. Maybe I would if I did try to jam it into a day or three AND did that every day and neglected my family or the house upkeep. But otherwise it is our recreation time. Some like sports or television and spend hours each week on that so I don't feel like spending that time coloring is any different. All that to say I hope Rachel that you don't feel guilty and limit doing a hobby you love. Love your background especially. I struggle so bad with them I usually skip it because I keep ruining my pages attempting to get the hang of it.
I definitely secretly wish I was faster because I want more finished pages in my books 😂 I have yet to complete an entire book and I’ve been coloring for 2yrs daily. This page would have taken me a week at least 25hrs? That’s a guesstimate. I seriously wish I was faster lol I am exploring watercolor and inktense to attempt to speed things up as I explore mixed media. Thx for sharing!!!
I think your conclusion is wise. Why time ourselves to see how much time we are spending re-centering, soothing our souls, creating, and de-stressing. It’s not likely that the important things are being neglected. So color away!
Hello. My name is Mocha. I am new to the adult coloring community. I searched for a color-along with Kerbes book. Your video popped up. I really enjoyed this video. I like wolves. I have one of his books, but I have not colored in it. I will wait until I get more teachings. I like that you explain what you are doing and the supplies you used. Question: 12 hours is a long time. Would you break a page like that in 3 or 4 sittings? Do something else like sleep? 😂 I just subscribed. I'm excited about getting to know you. Be blessed.
It is gamsol or oderless mineral spirits, similar to paint thinner. It blends colored pencil well but you have to make sure to use it in a well ventilated area.
I'm guessing, around 30-35 hrs? (edited) I'm taking it back! 😱I might take around those hours 30-35 hrs to finish this age, not sure though. It's really a great experiment, I never timed how many hours I spend from coloring 🤔
I’m a very slow colourist that really focuses on details, hence why I stopped colouring in Kerby’s books, it takes me forever to see a finished piece and it’s really only me that sees it so rewards aren’t huge when it’s simply a turn of a page.
I'm no where near your league so I'm sure it would take me forever. I love how you colored the werewolf. Never would have thought to put the skin tone in there. Just wondering, how long have you been coloring and how long at this level? Love your work and watching you. Great tips
It would probably take me about 10 hours because I don’t add the layers that you do. But I have never timed myself and that was a double page. I would like to have a goal of doing one page in about 3 hours, because that is probably the most time I would spend in one session. I would like to do one page a day so I can make a dent in some of my books. Something to try to work towards.
Did you actually sit for 12 hours coloring? I am not able to do that because my brain energy can only go for so long. Consequently, I decide what I will work on for each sitting. That way I'll want to keep going. I'm slow with things like that. I have to hit every detail. I love how it turned out. I think I might give this book to myself for a Christmas present. I always love your videos and always learn something from them.
Very interesting video! I've spent about 8 hours for 1 page, so 16 for double spread before. But after I've started my coloring youtube channel and record my colorings on camera now it is 5 hours and 10 for double spread:)
She did mention that in some cases they are kind of lost and she feels they are extra. I think changing your style is a great way to grow and make what you're doing more pleasurable!
les Prismacolor coute une fortune.... Je suis obliger de prendre les Brutfuner... Mais j'ai peur que le résultat soit pas le même que toi... J'ai peur que ca fasse des grumeau;
Thats kinda scary to me because the werewolf is supernaturally real...might think I'm strang but, well really im not...although I like the picture...ill pray for you on this...
I cannot find you under my notifications will you please upload your notifications I can find you so far nothing but I really like the werewolf a picture we’re just really awesome great work with at the background and my other question is how come you never say my name in your videos and how come you didn’t check out your Instagram I am at your Facebook page because I sent you Some of my artwork photos for you never even care so please give it a check and please message me if you have the time happy holidays your best friend Brandon

Agree. If the point is to relax while colouring, time is of no issue.
I agree, it takes your mind off things and I really do get “lost” while I’m colouring. I call it my happy place.

You coloring and shading is amazing! I love your color choices.❤️❤️❤️
The black on the trees was exactly what they needed. Looking great! Now to finish watching the video.🙂
I have learned so much watching this video. Thank you. Can't believe you did that many hrs.WOW

Awesome pages. Love your backgrounds on quite a few !!! I pre ordered his new one and I cant wait to get it. ❤❤ love your videos erica.

Loved this. So inspirational! Thank you for posting.
She made a Kerby page so simple unlike other artists who add tons of colours.
You amaze me! I am pretty slow when it comes to coloring and I have so many pictures in various stages of completion. My hand cramp up after about 30 mins lol. I guess I’ll continue to color vicariously through you. 💕 Hadassah

Omg that's the Picture I colored around Halloween. Wish I could share a picture here
This page took me many hours too! Good job!
Fabulous looks great. Can you tell me what is the white pencil you use a lot please.Thankyou.👏🌈
New subscriber, great coloring. Love that you mention or show what pencil you start using. You are considered a professional colorist 🙂
Stunning!
Really liked this video ❤ thanks
I’d guess from start to finish, it would take me at least 10 hours total. I’m not really fiddling with too much detail. This looks fabulous
I can say tht I have never timed myself doing colorings, Especially Kerby Rosanes! I know it will take me a lot of time and I enjoy working on those double spreads. It turned out great!
Hi, great work. Where did you learn how to do this ?
If I timed myself I would be so anxious. I don’t like timers. Your coloring is amazing.

What coloring pencils do you use? New to coloring
Stunning! Can you please tell me what exact colors you used on the monster?
WAY more than 12 hours... Thank you for sharing your beautiful coloring!
My perfectionism, and OCD ! I watch you and think my coloring skills are pathetic.
What white pen are you using for highlights?
I think your conclusion is wise. Why time ourselves to see how much time we are spending re-centering, soothing our souls, creating, and de-stressing. It’s not likely that the important things are being neglected. So color away!
I'm such a slow colourist! It would probably take me at least the 12 if not more! I enjoyed watching your process.

Où est-ce que tu l'a eu le truc qui sert à mettre les petits crayon ? (9.10 min)
God your coloring is amazing, truly. I could watch you color all day. What kind of solvent do you use, and what if anything does it do to the paper?
Almond? Is that an old one? I have used Prismacolor for years and have never seen that one.
what's the name of the liquid that you used for blending with the q-tip?
It is gamsol or oderless mineral spirits, similar to paint thinner. It blends colored pencil well but you have to make sure to use it in a well ventilated area.
I'm guessing, around 30-35 hrs? (edited) I'm taking it back! 😱I might take around those hours 30-35 hrs to finish this age, not sure though. It's really a great experiment, I never timed how many hours I spend from coloring 🤔
You are speedy Gonzales compared to me! I would take much much longer. It came out beautiful!
At 1:40 I paused and I’m guessing 30 or 45hrs to do the whole thing
I’m a very slow colourist that really focuses on details, hence why I stopped colouring in Kerby’s books, it takes me forever to see a finished piece and it’s really only me that sees it so rewards aren’t huge when it’s simply a turn of a page.

I would say...probably 1,5-2 hours ! Since I color with simple markers most of the time!! 😅😂 😃💖
I agree. Best to do some everyday for not too long. I'm not timing anything. Colouring is supposed to be therapeutic.
I take 3-5 days to give my hands a rest for 2 pg spread bec I’m heavy handed & a newbie 😂 some turn out good, few not so much 😅
I need more than 13hours for a kerby Rosanes double-spread. (I have the worlds within worlds) but , in the end I don't even care how long it takes me
Long time but very nice work...
Because of my busy schedule, this page takes one month to finish.
Interesting exercise, thanks
... there’s a mysterious high pitch sound that co ordinates with the narration / I couldn’t stay ..,
I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed it! I thought it might be a very loud frog.
Haven’t a clue, but I am going to guess 27 hours! I guessed before I saw the end of the video. I wasn’t even close
🤗
Very interesting video! I've spent about 8 hours for 1 page, so 16 for double spread before. But after I've started my coloring youtube channel and record my colorings on camera now it is 5 hours and 10 for double spread:)
I would imagine 16-20hrs, but I am a blend and detail freak 😉
Foundation layers - why change your style? It's your calm place, do it for yourself, not for what someone else thinks. BTW I love it.
She did mention that in some cases they are kind of lost and she feels they are extra. I think changing your style is a great way to grow and make what you're doing more pleasurable!
💛🖤💛🖤
5 hrs?
Why don’t you tell us what colors you used for the background
I guess around 25 hours for this piece?
My guess was 12 hours!
It took me 18 hours to colour this picture
A
I would guess it took about 14 hours?
les Prismacolor coute une fortune.... Je suis obliger de prendre les Brutfuner... Mais j'ai peur que le résultat soit pas le même que toi... J'ai peur que ca fasse des grumeau;
For me 14 to 15 hours
My guess was 5 hours but that's probably way too low.
Thats kinda scary to me because the werewolf is supernaturally real...might think I'm strang but, well really im not...although I like the picture...ill pray for you on this...
Absolutely over 12 hours...i am slow! Lol...would probably take me about 35 hours....hahahaha
My time would be closer to 20 hours if I had to guess.
7 hours
I cannot find you under my notifications will you please upload your notifications I can find you so far nothing but I really like the werewolf a picture we’re just really awesome great work with at the background and my other question is how come you never say my name in your videos and how come you didn’t check out your Instagram I am at your Facebook page because I sent you Some of my artwork photos for you never even care so please give it a check and please message me if you have the time happy holidays your best friend Brandon
Maybe 10 ?
My husband guessed 24 hours.
At least now nobody should feel bad too take too long...
More then u did about 20 hours at least
Longer, but I’m not as good as you, so my bang for my buck is way worse.
Wow NO! colors mentioned for the werewolf either how does this benefit your watchers this seems like it’s just for your satisfaction
