Thanks for including me in the video Jeff. It was fun to meet you and Phil. The show was awesome. After I saw you I ended up buying a complete 1973 set. Needless to say it was a very good show!
HOLY CRAP!! Now I'm mad you didnt swing by to show us. I wouldn't have even needed show footage, I just want to see that bad boy in a binder. Well, I'm sure you will be working on a video to show case it.
You the man, Jim! Thanks for stopping by for the interview, enjoy the card....I still feel like you got the best deal of the day. "Buy the card and not the grade".
I went on Saturday, but did not get to see the entire show. Spent a ton of time going through some $1 boxes (& under). I don't get into the shine too much and have not seen many of Phil's videos. Did not see either of you, but you might have been a row I missed. A little overwhelming going there with no plan, but it was a blast for sure. I bought from a couple dealers who are set up at the weekly Woburn show. Looking forward to going there again in the next month or two. Thanks as always for sharing.
Good video. I liked the interviews and showing the pick ups and talking a little about them. That 1952 Topps signed set was incredible. The dealer was dying to show them to someone. With a set like that, part of the enjoyment has to be showing it off (even if its not for sale).
Thank you for all of the feedback, Foo! I'm glad that 1952 will live on TH-cam forever for others to see. Can't wait for Phil to be set up at the next big show in a few months and I can repeat a lot of this again.
@@kurtishendrix My bad, I just assumed with you liking the Giants so much. Bbbooooo to too few midwest card shows. At least you have the National somewhat nearby soon.
I appreciate this video because I'm into vintage cards I like cards from 1957 through 75 anything 76 to date is junk junk unless it's pre-1975 it's junk I know all you Millennials will comment I don't care now listen you were viewing some 73 fours and fives in the case and saying the prices were good man those prices were high these guys are high you got to Heckle with these dealers
Thanks so much for watching! I will always feature vintage in my card show videos because it is still what excites me the most when seeing them up close and in person. I think many dealers price their cards a bit high but I'm always down for a good ol fashion negotiation session and many of them will come down, especially when grabbing more than one card.
Thought I commented on this before...but... great job! I need to get to that show at some point! One day off of being able to make Mansfieldnext week...maybe a spring one!
We have very few card shows in my area anymore ( a northern suburb of Cincinnati) so it is nice to visit them thru the eyes of others. I appreciate your videos.
That's tough to hear, I had someone else say the same thing about Kansas. Sounds like the midwest is in desperate need of a big card show. Luckily, the Chicago National is right around the corner. :)
Had to subscribe this video is so cool you don’t see many like this , I’ve been on TH-cam sportscard community since beginning of 2007 end of 2006 I and this is one of the best videos .
Wow, I'm so glad to hear people are enjoying this one. It's not the first I've done but hopefully the editing has gotten better. It's comments like yours that help me continue putting them out, all I care is that people are interested in seeing them. I really appreciate the feedback.
yeah my yastrzemski rookie is also a PSA 5. I also have three autographed Yasstrzemski rookies, certified of couse. the 1960 topps might be my favorite baseball set. I have an autorgraphed 1960 willie mays.
Great video, my man! I could watch a hour worth of footage on this type of video. We don’t have these large shows over here on the West Coast. Thanks for sharing. CALI😎
I'm not sure where you live but more big shows are popping up all the time. Texas just had their first big one in a long time a few months back. Thanks for watching!
Great recap man! You gave us a taste of everything. The quick chats with the youtubers were great... where's their links? J/K, you spent enough time on the editing! I couldn't help but notice the list of auto signers there- is it just me or does Oscar Robertson's name stick out like a sore thumb (with all due respect to Harold Baines & company, lol)
Jeff AirtimeCards Cough, cough..... check the description for channel links. Oscar does stick out, I just assumed he played a few years for the Celtics but that’s not the case. Just sad a lot of these old timers didn’t make millions so they are still supporting themselves this way. Thanks for watching and best wishes on getting to 500 subs!
Great question, I have no idea. I tend to stay away from items like that at a show such as this. I'd want to research the hell out of the dealer before I even considered buying one.
One thing I don't understand is how someone can have a ton of nice stuff -- like the batch of GRADED autographed 1952 Topps cards -- and not have them better protected (in sleeves) so that the slabs do not get scratched and scuffed. Also putting stickers directly onto the slab, and having the potential for sticky residue left on the plastic, boggles my mind. Since the slabs aren't in sleeves to protect from scratches, the way people just toss them down recklessly irritates me. Why spend all that big money and then be "rough" when handling them???
Totally agree Eric, thanks for watching! I couldn't believe it either but you're not thinking about those kinds of things to ask in the middle of filming.
@@pokeysdad17 You can make a blanket statement. Cards vary widely in price based on grade too. A Mantle graded a 5-6 is going to massively increase in price that may be signed over say, a PSA 3 with no autograph.

People over price those vintage cards like if its a brand new car
it's my understanding that autographing a 52 topps card lowers their value because they are considered to be defaced.
With almost all of the players now dead from that era, this is definitely not the case.
