If it is Medicaid and Medicare or any federal or state benefits then it will affect you when you apply for your green card. It is important to make sure to know that international students can apply for state health benefits but they are not allowed to do so. Make sure anyone getting state benefits do get in touch with your immigration lawyer. This video has misleading and wrong information for sure

Just compare it with $0 Plan, because you are not investing any money so what you should look for is better health coverage so that nothing goes out of your pocket.
Compare plans and coverage but you can have 2 insurances especially if they’re both free. Helps with additional coverages. My roommate is a Fulbright scholar and has 2 insurances (School insurance + Fulbright insurance), thus helping them cover most if not all additional healthcare expenses.
