Been following you a year. This is your best work! Love Tua! Btw, Marino said back in Feb. that Tua was better than he was in college! And he followed with this gem: "I'm not kidding."
And he wasn’t lying. Marino is my favorite QB of all time and Tua blows him outta the water. And he’s better off the field than he is on the field. Really special player! I hope the Dolphins fans enjoy him as much as us Alabama fans have.
Thanks for putting this together Doug ... Awesome video. I too am excited about Tua coming to MIA and seeing he can do. Think you can do this for our other draft picks that come from smaller programs that got a lot of hype like Curtis Weaver?
from Australia here so only just started following Miami because of tua and found this video very informative since i still very noobish in terms of nfl general knowledge. really enjoyed your breakdown and happy to be a fins fan now.
Tua is the BEST one read QB to make multiple reads in NCAA history. Thx for settling this for our fan base DDW. You have done a service for us all. We owe you more than you know!
Great Video bro! Loved every second of it. Question. Are you happy that your team drafted tua or would you prefer that they went to justin herbert instead?
The QB School channel has the best break downs on QB play, if you want a more in depth video on TUA they have 3 videos on him. If you are not sold on Tua after this, which is a good freaking video, you will be after The QB School! Doug is the man though, and has the best overall dolphins related content out there. You're a saving grace Doug in this no sports purgatory we have come to live in!
Beginning of the season I was absolutely against the idea of Tua to the Dolphins. I hate Alabama, I really really hate Saban. That bias was going against Tua in my mind. I said the same stupid things other people say about how it’s all about the team around him as to why he’s successful. This game right here is what changed my mind. I had talked with a few other Dolphins fans that had started to get me to see my own bias. Watching this game made me a huge Tua fan.
Cardinals fan here, Great video! I know when we took Kyler how exciting it is to draft a QB in the top 5! Tua is going to be good, I mean Alabama was a run first team before Tua #facts !
Only play that caught my eye differently than yours is at 18:03 and I wish we can see what the WR did. The linebacker was going to the middle if the field because it looks like a slant, but then a cut or double move back to the out. Him staring the TE should've made the LB cut in, but he was busy going the the middle of the field trying to stop the WR not knowing he already cut
Great video DDW !! Love the film breakdown . Tua is special . “All those people that say “ , just haven’t watched the tape . The eye discipline and footwork for such a young player is special . His accuracy is precise and he understands how to play the position. He gotta learn how to limit the big hits but it’s football and it gonna get hit .
Doug, this is your very BEST video. I watched this game beginning to end. It convinced me that Tua is the real deal. Last year he was like a deer in the headlights with a short lease. He needs to have the same mindset like his last year at Bama. He owned that field. He needs to have the same mindset here in Miami. The LSU had an interception in this game as well. Imagine the pressure he was getting and a real bad leg. His limp in the second half was ridiculous. He still brought his team back in spite of the bad offensive line play. In spite of the TD drops. In spite of the limp. In spite of the poor play of the defense. PS did you see Ja'Marr Chase absolutely burn Patrick Surtain Jr? He is the real deal.
Loved the breakdown. It baffles me when people say he has no pocket presence and stares down his recievers. I have watched so much tape on this guy and his football IQ is through the roof. He has WAY more pocket presence than what Tannehill had when he first got into the league. We have ourselves a damn good quarterback. And Smith was actually his number one reciever. He just decided to go back to college. Hopefully we can draft in next year's draft. #PHINZUP
I was one of the guys that said Tua was on a good team & that AL has never produced a good QB. I’ve also been hoping and praying that Tua really is a “smart” QB. I like that he manipulates the D by looking them off. We had a QB that did it #Jets ;-) any ways. Thank you so much for what you do. FinsUp
And then, and then, and then, drum roll please, Joe Burrow and LSU got sweet revenge and that's what makes college football so fun. Moreover, only losers and crybabies like you make lame excuses for losing. And that also is what is bad about college football.
I see fitz starting the season but I think if TUa is balling out in practice it’s gonna be hard to keep this kid off the field . This guy nice, well spoken and a walking billboard but on the field this kids a DOG!!! Can’t wait to see Hul out there practicing .
I’ve watched this game multiple times but I love your break down of it . I hear a lot of people say this that about Tua . A lot of haters cause everyone knows if he didn’t get that hip injury he’s goes number 1 in the draft . Tua will have major success in this league if health permits him to !
I love TUA!!! he has the let’s attack mode!! He’s very smart. Has everything the franchise needs to contend in the future. I’m very excited to watch the fins win ALOT of games. Fins up!! Shula fan for life 🙏🏼
I feel a lot more confident in Tua now. I didn't doubt his ability before, but I was concerned about how well he'd handle the pressure behind our rebuilt line. Now I am confident to put him in on week one if the coaches think he's ready. I still think it would be best to bring him in around the bye week, but I think he'd be able to handle it either way.
I've watched a lot of film on him Doug and you are right on. He is always looking off defenders. How do we know that some of those first round teammates that he didn't make them better becsuse of all the little (big) things he does to help them get open.
So yes he had a lot of talent around him he also made that Talent around him better than the other guy that had the same Talent around him I remember a certain championship game first half I think under a hundred total yards that was the same team different quarterback at halftime different results at the end I'm not sure that that Georgia game think he was a freshman that year i don't know
Yes people don’t understand how good he actually is. Jalen hurts couldn’t do anything against Georgia and tua came in and absolutely dominated. And a freshman. If jalen was starter whole time Jerry juedy and Henry ruggs wouldn’t of been 1st round talents. Because jalen wasn’t a good passer. Tua made Jerry and Henry good because of his good accuracy and putting the ball where they don’t have to slow down
But Alabama did not make an SEC championship or playoff under TUA, that Alabama team under him got soft and beat up on cupcakes and then got slammed right down against all competition badly 😂😂 hurts made championship and made the playoffs, Alabama struggled against Michigan in the poptarts bowl 😂😂🙄😂 Alabama looked like a store brand Pac 12 air raid team even with all those weapons 🤪🤪
@@bigcoop3717 / And how many conference and/or national championships does the college you root for have? Right on Doug, I was really looking forward to this and you did a good job. That OT is future 1st round pick Alex Leatherwood who got beat up by Chaisson #18 lol. Jerry Jeudy dropped 2 TD passes in that game very uncharacteristic of him but it happened. You should do more of this type of stuff you did well.
The Dolphins better find a way to block for Tua because he isn't afraid of holding the ball to long and taking a big hit. Even when he throws the ball away he gets hit. Not For Long in the NFL.
For me the question isnt whether or not Tua will be good. Right now Tua is a top 20-15 qb, period. The question is whether or not he'll be our next Dan Marino and I hope, but no way to tell now
I don’t want the next Marino. I want the first Tua and for him to surpass Dan. As great as he was, he wasn’t able to bring the SB title to Miami. And that’s not completely on him by any means.
@@Erika11Garcia Exactly I see it similar. I want the next Tua. I love Marino, but that is a dif time, and they aren't even close to the same type of QB. Which he’s currently had the most time to heal from that hip surgery than any of his other previous injuries so maybe he’s now shaken that “injury bug” finally. All the other “he had NFL talent all around him” and “he’s a product of Alabama” etc. is complete BS. Yes Alabama was and still is a great program but he was a really good (idk about great just yet) QB before Alabama. All you need to do is check out his Elite 11 tape. That pick before the half was interesting. Look at it and see where the ball was placed. Seemed like he expected a stop route and the WR was heading for the post. Not sure who was at fault but it didn't look like a mis-throw in the throwing motion or foot work, it looked like one guy thinks one thing and one guy thinks another.
Doug the more i look into this team the more i see shades of the raiders teams of the 70s mainly their 76 super bowl team would love to hear your thoughts and possible breakdown comparing them. Not saying we're there yet but i see that as this teams ceiling
Najee Harris balled out that game. Definitely the unsung hero in a losing effort...Good job pointing out weakness in offensive line cohesion and those 2 dropped TD's. The stigma narrative is pure clickbait.
Nice video. But honestly, all anyone has to do is go back and watch video of Tua in HS all the way up til now, and a pirate that has a patch over one eye and is blind in the other one, will see Tua has been doing this from day one. If/when NFL season starts, the haters might as well go ki\\ themselves bc Tua and the Dolphins are gonna shock the world.

You did a great job brother I think we got the best QB in the draft hands down we just need to remember it takes a team not just a QB
My main concern was always his injury history.
Yupp me too
Thanks for this break down. Maybe that hack Sims should have a look at this. He clearly has no clue ans just wants to creat chatter.
What's going on ddw love the stuff I love the show man keep it up family everybody is going to say he had five star athletes around him and I'm going to say yes he did the same team that Jalen hurts had but they just was not putting up those numbers when he was in there
2 dropped balls for touchdowns don't help. Tua on that day was the only player in Bama who still had belief that Bama could still win.
