The PC-6001 used the same 6847 video chip that the Coco and Dragon computers (and some others) used, but with a custom ROM character set. It also had some the ability to switch the color set (both on text and graphics screens) in between characters on the screen (the first game you tried mixed the dark green/light green and dark red/orange on the same screen line).

The TRS-80 Model 100/102/200 had a "GRPH" key that was used to enter "graphics" characters from the keyboard.

The Z-80 and its later descendants are still in use today. They are cheap, relatively fast for embedded use and easy to integrate into useful designs.

There is also the PC-6001A which was made for the US market and doesn't use the chiclet keyboard.

Your videos introduce me to so many computers I never knew existed, and I always thought I had a decent knowledge of obscure computers! Being in Montgomery, AL, I'm not that far from you, and would love to come see the museum one of these days!

Saw your video and had to own one. My PC-6001 is on its way from Japan. Thanks for showing me things I did not know existed. (My wife, however, wishes I would be happy with what I have now. LOL)

The port that you called the RGB port says "printer" above it, so it looks like this machine only has RF and composite out. Thanks for doing this video by the way! Great stuff.

Yeah, the PC-6001mkII adds RGB (technically CGA-esque digital RGBI) along with its own proprietary video chip. They also add a bunch of RAM, so that you no longer need a RAM expander cartridge for most software. More PC-6001 coverage is always welcome, thanks for the video!

"Hamburger Shop" game looked so fun! "In a year or two, You'll make assistant manager, and that's when the big bucks start rolling in."😆 awesome little computer system. 👍

This game is actually part of the Super Bishi Bashi Champ minigames. Although there is no BASIC limiting how fast you can build the burger, it just tells you how it should look like and you bash the buttons in the right order as fast as you can.
In Super Bishi Bashi Champ you play a selection of somewhere around 20 Minigames from a total of like almost 100 or so and they're all "push the right button(s) in the right order or at the right time or just as fast as possible". Tons of fun if you have another person to play against.

Some of those sounds remind me of the TI 994/A.

If I tried to enter a house in a Japanese text adventure and it said "GET RING", I would enter "PUSH DOORBELL" lol
("unfortunately" this isn't a text adventure) (but that door clearly had a doorbell button beside it)
