If anyone's wondering about how to find the weight value, from what I can tell, it seems that the weight assigned to each edge is arbitrary. It's a real number value assigned to the edge; it has no relation to anything else besides the edge. So edge v1v2 was assigned weight 2, it was not given that value because of the length of the path or degrees or anything of the sort. It could be any other number, it doesn't matter.
