You don't really need a tune according to my local Guzzi dealer, at least not for the 850. These bikes run lean from the factory so taking off the mufflers will help them run a little better.
@@TedsGarage Ya I'm not sure what the best option for a straight pipe tune would be. I know GuzziTech has custom maps they provide but they are probably assuming there is a muffler. Smithers Customs in Olathe has a dyno so they might be worth a call.
So far I haven't had any issues with it. It sounds great, runs way better, and makes this bike what it really should be. Keep in mind I did do an ECU reflash which is important, it absolutely ran much better after that.
It ran ok as is, but I did get a tune done on it from Guzzi Tech (I bought the tuner and they sent a new calibration file) and it runs much better. By default their tunes get rid of the popping on decel. I actually like that popping so I had him leave it in.
I run straight pipes on my 850. It vibrates your chest and gives you that giddy Christmas feeling

I always wanted to put a new exhaust on it but couldn't justify the cost!

Can I do this to my 2021 v7 850?
Does it run properly? Do you have any tuning issues?

I'm running straits on my 850.
@@michaelblackwell7408 I love the sound from straight pipes. Even long trips, as long as it is not obnoxiously loud, I'm fine with them.
