CJ! Your tank is looking amazing! I'm really glad for you that the anemone is hosting your clowns, after all. Awesome update, as per usual. Looking forward to the next one already. Cheers!
Love to see the inside info on your process! I agree about media like carbon - I also only use as needed, especially after working with glue and putty in the tank. And such an awesome pod population! Things must be good for them to thrive like that! 👍🏻👍🏻
Cj if possible can u do a video about benefits from bubble scrubbing and how it’s a good way to see how your flow is circulating in the tank to make adjustments where certain parts of the tank isn’t getting flow or a lot of flow especially for coral placement

Ha! Ha! Yo cj I see we share the same practice some what but 1st let me say this. I started the hobby 2009 took 2 yrs off for personal reason than return when led lights was coming into the picture my reef I had a volcano that pump small micro bubbles into the aquarium red light acting as a lava it was awesome even my lfs like it. Now I'll say I really didn't notice anything except the water had extra air from the volcano bubble pump. Your tank is awesome and so is the sump keep up the good videos bro I'm always interested to watch them.
With bubble scrubbing all your doing is turning your tank into a massive protein skimmers. I have been doing this for about 2.5years very night for 5hrs.
I’ve been following you for a few months now CJ, thanks for posting everything you do!!! Seriously! I’m in the process of setting up my first reef tank (120G like yours!). I’m very curious about your plumbing. You mention in this video your sump recirculates because your manifold has a exhaust line going back to the first section. Did you do all this from your return pump? Did you section off the pvc anywhere to change the flow between your return and the recirculating exhaust line? Thanks again eh CJ! Much appreciated!!!
William Linegar yes I have valves that allow me to change Flow direction. Check out the video tagged that’s called how to build a self cleaning sump. I detail it there... actually both videos tagged at the very end of this one are specific to my sump. A lot of info check them out
Hi CJ. Thank you for your great channel. I learn a lot from it about the hobby. What advice would you give wit regard to water testing? I want to go electronic test for some parameters such as pH, alkalinity. What do you suggest? Thank you in advance.
That’s some heavy flow you got going....I tryed turning up my gyre and my frogspawns and most LPS I have hate that type of flow....would like to see how that goes for you...If maybe my flow was too direct or just not placed in the right direction or pattern....
Peter Simonelli you nailed it ... I have ton of flow but use both gyres to counter each other creating indirect flow on my euphillia .. still some places that are off limits but overall I’ll be able to keep all kinds of corals in my system
Thanks buddy, Just got my wood AIR diffusers today. This will help me move towards my goal. Don't know if saw my receint video, but I am adding a 7 gallon refugium. Its going to help me add volume, give me space in my sump, most importantly its going to change my filtration to get away from the GFO juice lol.... Also one more question. I am working on my video quality. It needs work lol. When I try to speed things up on move it only goes twice as fast. It seems like you move faster when you fast forward. How do you do that? Need to know because if I can put out a decent vid I am rewarding myself with an upgraded phone lol. Doing a Video on the LSM. The entire set up on the Apex. Ok that was too much lol. Thanks for all you videos. They are awesome!!
John thanks for the feedback as always John... I record videos using the iphones timelapse and slo-Mo feature... that gives me the extra frame rate to play with inside iMovie so I can make it hyper speed if I choose or super slow mo
Im having trouble with the intensity in my ocean revive light i currently have it on 2 and 2 and dont know if it to little or too much for my 28g nano cube light has brackets and is 8 inches above water
The tank is looking great. Give it about six months and you will be close to the level of the 45g. While bubble scrubbing over time you do have to watch areas on the underside of rocks that trap bubbles and make huge air pockets that can kill off life on the rock like sponges. I just blew the rock out periodically to avoid making that mistake again.
Arrick L good tip... haven’t noticed any trapped pockets so far but I’ll crank up flow to get them moving. Gonna be picking up 30 or more sps frags next week things are about to get real!
Loronzo Rogers imma huge Gyre fan.. depending on the footprint u man need 2-4 Gyre 250 or 280s... I have 2 Gyre 230s in my 4 x 2 x 2 ... 120 gallon system
Official Russian Empire definitely a possibility but also consider just how many pods are escaping the wrasses.. I’d get one that eats prepared foods tank raised to avoid that issue tho
I think I'm on the sixth video of yours. Great information! And GREAT voice! You're like the Barry White of Aquarists! : ) Thanks for posting!
Cynthia Webb thanks pretty lady enjoy the series 😎👌🏾
Wow! I’ve seen you talk about the scrubbing for a while now and I think I’m finally going to pull the trigger and do this. Thanks CJ!
Tank looks solid! Can’t wait to see the next update on how it’s doing 🐠

Dope. Glad to hear your clowns are hosting. My Wyoming White choose a big group of hairy mushrooms instead of the BTA, lol.
I love these clownfish. I'm so glad they're hosting the anenome so you keep them and they'll stay in the videos :)
Morgan Ronan so far so good.. thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed the Video 🙂
of course, can't wait for the next update. I'll never get sick of looking at this tank
Been watching you since the marineland tank bro your growth has been amazing!!! You are making me get a new tank lol #respect
Good video I just raised my emergency drain to rid of waterfall sound
Your videos are always fantastic! You have truly mastered this. Thanks for the great content.

Awesome video CJ I'm going to try this on my 90 mix reef also your reef tank is looking good.
Congratulations on the clowns! Tank is beautiful as always!
Wesley Forbes II trying to reach country reef status and more importantly longevity ✊🏾

Cool update bro 👍🏻 liking the system a lot
awesome.. try UV strilizer for beter water clarity
Cj u are ready for Mondrian!!! Try use brs carbon reactor have clean finish some time the brs rx0.8 too small will get loss in the tank
Tanks looking great C.J. Instead of open ended return lines, have you considered using RFG's on the ends?
That’s some good Low 👍🏿
With bubble scrubbing all your doing is turning your tank into a massive protein skimmers. I have been doing this for about 2.5years very night for 5hrs.
yoshi moto pretty much... but wanted to touch on some specific benifits in
Amazing video !!
Nice brody
How often do you do bubble scrub?
Liked the Video, This is cool! Great Topic
U need a funnel for the Carbon bag homie lol, tighten back around the throat of funnel and dump
Arie Did That I completely misjudged the size once I realized it was too small I just went with it... gonna be a pain siphoning out of the sump

CJ'S AQUARIUMS fantastic!!! This helps a lot!!! Thanks again!!! Very much appreciated!!!
Hi CJ. Thank you for your great channel. I learn a lot from it about the hobby.
What advice would you give wit regard to water testing? I want to go electronic test for some parameters such as pH, alkalinity. What do you suggest?
Thank you in advance.
Kay Hanna checkers great for ALK and Calcium. Not sure of any other digital test that are avail but I use salifert for the rest
Thank you. So it's not indispensable to use a digital test especially for pH as some might suggest?
Good info. Nice quality

Hey CJ, I was wondering, what do you dose your tank with? (To like help your corals grow fast)
watching to help punch up your vid stats! j/k, always enjoy your vids man.
Yo im really digging the flow! I actually have a ton of flow on my 150 as well, But how in the heck do you keep your sand from not blowing around?
Neil Chand 2mm grain size stays put.. 4ft tank helps disperse the Gyre flow before it hits... other than that it just works 👌🏾

Thanks. one last question Are you using the 8 or 8 plus?
8 plus - 64g will be upgrading soon its not enough space to keep all my videos
CJ'S AQUARIUMS looking at the X?
inspiring!!!!

CJ as you probably already know, it can take up to a week or 2 for clowns to take to nems. Glad it worked.
Ha, that's awesome. Glad to see the clowns taking to nem!
"They paid rent just in time" lol

OK I just set up with 375 gallon tank need all the help I can get
What setting do you have your wave makers on?
Hey CJ have you ever tried that Ozone device?..
TRAY NICE never tried honestly never would... no need for my system and I don’t understand all the consequences honestly
👀👀 how much for the self cleaning sump? I only have about tree fiddy 💸
MikeTheReefer 👀👀👀 💰 💵 better get stock before it’s the next bitcoin 🤭🤫

What size heart do u have
big enough to ban trolls :)
Ok what about flo in the tank what do you think I need
Loronzo Rogers imma huge Gyre fan.. depending on the footprint u man need 2-4 Gyre 250 or 280s... I have 2 Gyre 230s in my 4 x 2 x 2 ... 120 gallon system
I believe adding a mandarin wouldn’t be good because the coris wrasses would out compete it for food
Official Russian Empire definitely a possibility but also consider just how many pods are escaping the wrasses.. I’d get one that eats prepared foods tank raised to avoid that issue tho
CJ'S AQUARIUMS alright, keep doing what you do 👌
Hosting an anemone is like riding a bike 😂
The same things happened with my clowns
My Wyoming white attacked my hand so much I dreaded putting my hand in the tank : /
Prob won't put a clown in my tank again.
Get a mandarin😍
Heaters
typos almost got you flagged hahahah...... i have 300w finnex heater.. room stays warm so heater doesnt work as hard
#selfcleaning sump
Ok my tank is 8 by 3 by 3
