1:36:20 actually is easy all you need to do is go to settings and select "Restore this library" and "If something went wrong, you can restore this library to a previous time. Select a date preset or use the slider to find a date with unusual activity in the chart. Then select the changes that you want to undo." and you can select date as yesterday for ex. and done :)
Thanks for a wonderful presentation. I definitely understood why you were switching between accounts and I really appreciated seeing what different users will see under various circumstances. I thought that the explanations and summaries were very useful. Thank you so much!
Microsoft has made an artform out of being counterintuitive. I could not wrap my head around what a "site" was, or what it was used for. Nothing about SharePoint is intuitive. My client has started using it and wants us to communicate with their team using it. I could not grasp the concept of what it was. Our agency is a Google Partner agency, so that's the world I'm used to. This is the most ridiculous set up I have ever seen. Your tutorial was amazing! I could not have understood any of it without watching. Thank you!! I pray every day that MS will hire some people from Apple to make their platform make more sense.
Great training. I can only imagine how much easier it would have been on yourself to have your 2 seperate users logged into 2 different browsers to avoid the constant authentication in the same browser. After saying that maybe you did it on purpose to let people know you were now going to another user.
Sharepoint is not user friendly at all. The whole interface has so much clutter and sometimes it just doesn't make any sense. They should make these solutions easy to understand for everyone. I know how to work with it, but my older 60+ colleagues find it quite hard.
I’m not even all that old (relatively speaking) but I didn’t work in companies that used it until now (they used other cloud based sharing methods). It is NOT intuitive. If the basics are a 2 hour course I can imagine why ppl are put off by this product. I miss our basic share drive and FTP server, it allowed sharing and collaboration without all the confusion.
Finding files across different sites is horrible. If I don’t bookmark it, I’ll never find it again. Just give a simple network tree view to locate files.
This is awesome and Christina you do an excellent job presenting. I have liked and subscribed on both my work and home computers so I'm "in"! Thank you!
Thank you for this presentation! Very informative and helpful!! How do you change the main site from Private to Public? I want to keep my team site private though.
Here are the steps: Go to the site page. Select Settings (tool icon) in the top right corner of the site. Select 'Site Information' Scroll down until you see 'Privacy Settings' and change from Private to Public, or vice versa. Save.
Thank you for this presentation, it helped me so much ! I don't know if it's a stupid question but the documents that you create directly via Sharepoint, are they saved in your drive as well ?
If you create documents directly via SharePoint, they are saved in SharePoint. However, you can access them from OneDrive for work or school. In the OneDrive app when signed in with your work or school account, select Libraries. Select the name of the site and then the library where the files are located. (The site could be a team or group that you belong to, and you might have to select Documents or another library to find the files.) 1
Thank you so much. I'm in South Korea university student council. And you really helped me to use share point. but we have problem.,. I have no idea how to upgrade share point storage.. we cannot eddit files..
To upgrade SharePoint storage, you need to: Evaluate current storage usage to determine the amount of additional space needed. Check subscription or plan limitations to ensure compatibility with the new storage requirements. Purchase and allocate additional storage space through the SharePoint admin center or Microsoft 365 admin center. Monitor the storage usage post-expansion to ensure efficient utilization and plan for future scaling. If you are a free user, you can buy a subscription. If you are already a Microsoft 365 Personal & Family subscription holder, you can add up to 1 TB of additional file storage to the 1 TB already included with your Microsoft 365 subscription.
thank you for the course, i have 1 question before I start, I still know nothing about SharePoint, but is this online Sharepoint? if yes will the concepts be the same for 2019 SharePoint?
Sharepoint unfortunately does not have any free trials. But there are options available here: www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/sharepoint/compare-sharepoint-plans
This is great information. When I try to access the sample site, because I don't have access through a company, I try to sign in with my personal Microsoft 365 account and it tells me I have to sign in via a school or work 365 account. Does this mean I have to purchase another 365 subscription in order to access and practice with SharePoint?
Unfortunately Sharepoint is required and not free. You can see available plans here: www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/sharepoint/compare-sharepoint-plans

Christina, I have a web part (one column) on my SharePoint page, that contains an icon that is linked to a document in one of the libraries. How can I add additional icons to that web part? Each icon will have it's own link.
Lets say tony deleted an item, would christina be able to see that deleted file in the recycle bin as well or only tony has accessed to that deleted file in the recycle bin?
To find who has deleted a file on SharePoint, you can: Check the Recycle Bin and the Site Collection Recycle Bin to see the name of the "Deleted by" person. Activate the Reporting feature and the Site collection audit settings to generate an audit log report for deletion activities. Use the Microsoft 365 admin center or the SharePoint Online Management Shell to search the audit log for deletion events.
I have a question regarding Sub Sites. In my use and learning about SharePoint, Microsoft suggests that for most situations, we connect individual sites to HUB sites instead of using the older method of creating Sub Sites. The use of HUB sites has many new benefits and I was curious if you include and teach (in this course) how to set up and organize our sites using the HUB site method (as an option and as a preferred method instead of teaching us to create Sub Sites). Can you please tell me if this is covered in your courses or not?? Thanks, Gary
Hello Tarek! We do not place the ads, that is on TH-cam's side of things. Also the ads make it possible for us to continue to make free videos for all.
if you edit a file within SP, does it automatically sync with the original file that it came from (i.e. someone's local drive or other)...or are the changes only on the file that is in sharepoint? (you did a title and filename change for the US East Motor vehicle bill of sale file). How to avoid a document being uploaded and overwriting the sharepoint-edited document, accidentally? (and then SP users are back to square one, without your filename or title name changed, for example).
SharePoint allows multiple users to edit and collaborate on documents in real time using the Co-Authoring feature. However, if a SharePoint document library has read-only permissions, only the author can make changes unless explicitly invited. SharePoint permissions are inherited, but you can set different ones for specific people. Currently, with Excel with a shared document, only one person can have control to prevent multiple changes occurring and being overwritten in error.
Data protection is not advanced enough. Let's say a user changed data in an excel document and this gets noticed 3 months later and boss wants that file restored. How can you do that?
At 30 minutes in... it's so weird to me that MS uses so many different terms to describe the permissions levels... "Site members" is the same as "limited control" is the same as "Edit"... "Site visitors" is the same as "no control" is the same as "Read" (AKA "Read only")... It's needlessly confusing!
To troubleshoot Sharepoint site provisioning failing, you can: Make sure you have enabled self-service site creation for the web application. Ensure you have access to the My Site web application. Create a new site manually and then apply PnP template manually from PowerShell. Delete the current Learning Pathways site collection from SharePoint Tenant administration site and remove it from the Admin recycle bin. Re-provision the Microsoft Leaning Pathways Site but make sure this User must be Global Tenant Admin.

Feedback would be: we don't need the summary at the end of each section. Each section is only a small bit of straightforward info anyway, so there is no reason for it to be repeated. It doubled the time needed to watch this unnecessarily.
