Longtime fan. I love your energy! Your passion for games and gaming is amazing. I don’t know how you do it, but you are the only TH-cam duo that can talk all over each other and it doesn’t feel like you’re interrupting. It’s the verbal equivalent of, two puppies playing with a ball.
This may be the kindest thing anyone has said haha and thank you! We try to not interrupt each other too much for clarity sake so we are glad we pull it off
You two are the only creators who can get away with a comment like "THERE'S A KISSING BOOTH IN THIS CHANNEL" and it is somehow still wholesome, looooool
Great list and video, as usual! I think the others on my radar are Shackleton Base (Nestor Mangone and Fabio Lopiano with Sorry We Are French) and Phoenix New Horizon (seems like a pretty cool and innovative worker placement game).
Don't get too intimidated by Civolution. It is heavy, but a lot of the weight comes from: 1) A ton of choices, like a Feast for Odin, although you're kind of limited Castles of Burgundy style by dice. 2) The sheer number of different things like Chip Theory's The Elder Scrolls game. There are like 4 boards that you'll be using, but half of them are just tracking stuff, so it looks like a lot when you sit down, but it's not that bad. As long as you follow the structure of the game properly the game helps you with its weight. It's one of those things like Kanban EV being 4.30 weight on BGG vs Robinson Crusoe being 3.82, if my life depended on someone playing one of those games without getting confused over a rule, I'd have them play Kanban.
My top picks would be Daitoshi and Minos: Dawn of the Bronze Age (this one because of your playthrough xD). Daitoshi in particular seems to check all my boxes: - Dani Garcia design (fan of Barcelona and Windmill Valley) - Devir’s (c’mon, they produce great games) - steampunk theme with strong ecology echoes involved - beautiful (circular! modular!) main board - production phase - great art, very nice components - worker placement + engine building Just, take a look at its BGG page (or the Devir’s tutorial on YT), and tell me if you’re not intrigued! Thanks for your content, always a pleasure to watch! Love from Rome 💖
How have I missed Dorfromantik: Sakura?!? We did buy some awesome games yesterday at our first Spiel: Tea Garden, Rebirth, LOTR Duel, White Castle Matcha, Flip 7, Ito, Forest Shuffle Woodland ❤
I already have LOTR Duel on its way to my door! Super stoked about it. One of my biggest coming out of Essen is Lone Wolves. It’s a two player trick-taking-ish game but also in the same vein as Hanamikoji and it looks amazing! It unfortunately is only international right now but the comment section rumor mill over on a DT video says that it will be coming to the U.S. later this year!
Funny that you put Galileo Galilei into a category "looking up to space" game. I see it in a larger trend towards "historical scientist" games (Marie Curie, several Darwin games, Freud, Newton...).
The way you pronounce "Feuerland" is dangerously close to "Führer...", which gives it a weird historical context. "Feuer" should be pronounced closer to "foyer". 😅 Other than that, great video as always! High five from Berlin!
I would have loved to show you the upcoming "Aventuria - Chalices of Power" campaign (kind of Aventuria 2.0) at Ulisses booth - if you've had been there :D
I'm like you bros when it comes to Asian games--I'd LOVE to have more in my collection! I especially enjoy South Korean & Japanese card games. I hope to see more accessibility to them, here in North America, in the future!!!
Your top 5 is pretty close to my top 5. In order of must have my choices are: 1. Civolution - C'mon. It's a Feld, but more 2. LOTR Duel - Cathala 2 player? Duh. 3. Black Forest - Kind of a toss up but I'm more of a Uwe Rosenberg kind of guy. 4. Resafa - This looks really interesting, might turn out to be even better than Black Forest. Neither of them are on my must have list but I think I will end up buying at least one of them. Which brings me to number 5. Seti??? All these other great choices and Seti is your top pick? Hey, you guys are the experts. Looks cool but how does it play? I think I better leave now and go find out so I'm ready when it hits retail. Thanks for the heads up guys.
I'm intrigued by spectacular and civolution. I'm super excited for civ 7 they are changing it up and looks like they are bringing in elements similar in humankind but with the civ brilliance.
Um I’m pretty excited for Civ 7. Every time I go to play Civ 6 again I just go to Age of Wonders 4 instead so I’m looking forward to trying the differences in Civ 7.
i havent played dorf yet but i cant buy 2 dorf games - which one does everyone recommend for family gamers - upper elementary to non gaming adults with a few adults who can handle a family + game (slight more tactics/strategy)? thank yall
The difference between the types of space games would be the difference between science and science fiction. I definitely prefer the looking at space ones because I can actually go out and look at the stars myself
Looking forward to chnges in Civ 7, series needs to move forward and i am not a fan of districts in civ 6. Other than districts civ 6 had good ideas (religion victory, city states giving specific bonuses, tech tree fo social policies,...). SETI is my next to buy game, Civolution didnt impress me much yet. But i like Feld and dice in Castles of Burgundy, so i should give Civolution a play when there will be a chance.
It's not available at stores but we ran a kickstarter for it, we will be opening the pledge manager very soon and you can late back it there. Keep an eye out for posts about that!
I'm not optimistic about Civ7. Civ6 was terrible, the worst in the series by far, and in some respects it looks like Civ7 will be better than Civ6, but it also seems like they're veering off farther and farther away from what was once great about the series. I wish they would just name it Leaders and say it's a spin-off, since that's what it seems Civ7 is more about anyway. And if they ever decide to go back to the series' roots, then call it Civ7.

Totally! They're like conjoined twins!..❤
love how honest yall are - sometimes art is what gets me into a game or gets rid of a game - just the way it is - art is so important =)

I love the glove on a stick for added confusion
Board game Codenames 😂
Great list and video, as usual! I think the others on my radar are Shackleton Base (Nestor Mangone and Fabio Lopiano with Sorry We Are French) and Phoenix New Horizon (seems like a pretty cool and innovative worker placement game).
Oh Spectacular and Black Forest are my two favorites off of your list today. Great work ya'll! Cheers

Oooooh the excitement increases!
My top picks would be Daitoshi and Minos: Dawn of the Bronze Age (this one because of your playthrough xD).

You've offically put Daitoshi on our excitement list so thank you!!!

Ooh sounds cool I'll have to look into that one!
I'm hyped for Power Grid Outpost, but I'm not seeing many people talk about it!
Funny that you put Galileo Galilei into a category "looking up to space" game. I see it in a larger trend towards "historical scientist" games (Marie Curie, several Darwin games, Freud, Newton...).
Ada Lovelace is another one. I've noticed that too
The way you pronounce "Feuerland" is dangerously close to "Führer...", which gives it a weird historical context. "Feuer" should be pronounced closer to "foyer". 😅
Other than that, great video as always! High five from Berlin!
We realized that after the fact and our apologies!
Speaking of Civ 7 😂 - I’m pumped! Scared of the changes but so excited!
Same, I trust Firaxis to make it great

I would love to see you at SPIEL next year‼️
I hope one day I can go to Essen Spiel too.
My FLGS has Black Forest. I am ready to play it!
I'm intrigued by spectacular and civolution. I'm super excited for civ 7 they are changing it up and looks like they are bringing in elements similar in humankind but with the civ brilliance.
SETI just went from not on my radar to "OMG look at that revolving board" to "let me check out a preview" to "must preorder."
Um I’m pretty excited for Civ 7. Every time I go to play Civ 6 again I just go to Age of Wonders 4 instead so I’m looking forward to trying the differences in Civ 7.
Agree the name of spectacular confused me
SETI looks awesome
Happy to see Mike was rehired after being let go at the end of the last stream.
I had to bribe Nick heavily
Surprised at not seeing saltfjord.
Definitely on the shortlist. I love the look of it
The Murphs make themselves buy stuff! It isn't just me.
i havent played dorf yet but i cant buy 2 dorf games - which one does everyone recommend for family gamers - upper elementary to non gaming adults with a few adults who can handle a family + game (slight more tactics/strategy)? thank yall
Resafa and ironwood sound awesome
Please showcase Revenant, it looks amazing!
Hope to check it out soon!

No Flatiron?
Don't know about that one but we'll have to look into it!
@@TheBrothersMurphDUDES, you gotta! It’s Isra and Shei, designers of The White Castle!
Oh dang!!
No Daitoshi? :(
No but actually we have it and folks talking about it here have us pumped to try it!!
Unconscious Mind?
Rebirth?
We've played and covered both of those but both are great!
stoked on ironwood and matcha
If I subscribe can I get a copy of your unofficial unmatched set? I can’t find it 😞
It's not available at stores but we ran a kickstarter for it, we will be opening the pledge manager very soon and you can late back it there. Keep an eye out for posts about that!

Ah I loooooove Civ 6, and am hyped about Civ 7. But i know there's a massive amount of love for the previous Civ games
