Love the abstract!!! I live in Florida with lots of palms, each one is different and beautiful.
This was actually fun with coloring pencils too tomorrow im doing in watercolors . Thank you Ellen
Thank you for this tutorial. I love palm trees!
Just a note...the tree is a palm. The leaves are called fronds! Pretty!
Wow, I never cease to be amazed at how something that starts out looking so simple can be so involved, but you make it look like….oh, it’s nothing. Hoping that is the case when I try to paint this. Hope you have fun in London!
Lovely tutorial! I wish you could’ve moved the tubes away so we got the whole mixing palette in the frame, but still loved it.
Really love the Palm 🌴! Looks easy I'm going to give a try today.😊🌴
Palm trees are my jam! Been doing them for about 3 years....not happy with any so I keep doing it again. (I have one on the go at.)...I guess I like one of them as I have one framed in my bathroom. I always love to watch tutorials. Thanks for that.
Oh I really love this! I can't wait to try it. Thank you for talking through your process. I'm new to watercolor (art in general) and every time I watch one of your videos, it's like your explanations unlock new ways of understanding the medium. And I really appreciate how you show such a huge variety of brushes and techniques. It's really helping me find my own style. Or at least what I enjoy painting.
I am in love with palm trees! This came out beautiful! I am going to try this one! I love it!
I like the technique you used at the end blurring the fronds into the background. Thanks for sharing.
That paper did take quite a bit of scrubbing. Love this.
I'm not so fond of the abstract painting because I always want to add more detail and make things more complicated. Lol.this looks fun, though and great practice for mixing colors. Thanks Ellen 😊
Have a good time
Welcome to London.
I'm not as fond of abstract painting, but on the other hand, I do appreciate it. I like more realism in a painting. I did your other beach/palm tree tutorial for a birthday card and I really loved it. I think that was my third try at one of your tutorials. Thanks so much for all you do Ellen. 😊💕
I thoroughly enjoyed this Ellen!! I’m really drawn to these more abstract/atmospheric type paintings.Thank you so much for sharing your talent!
I love this. It's beautiful. I love the effects that you get from wet on wet, it's enjoyable to watch the paint move and mix. This is actually what got me interested in watercolor. Thanks for another tutorial. Have a great night
Great!
This was FUN - especially love the abstract - it's some how more challenging in certain ways for me. Thank you.
Love the blue around the tree
Cool..going to try my cat’s tongue for this as well
Love it!
Love the palms in this style.
Love it. I am painting along with you.😆👍
Hi Ellen! I tried the palm tree and it looks like a big fluffy green flower!!! I'll try again 😃 lol
Thank you Ellen. Love this tutorial 😊
Love your abstract paintings!
Love it. Thanks for this beautiful demo
This is wonderful!
I’ve been trying to paint a cabbage palm aka palmetto tree for about a week with no success. Maybe this will help! Thanks. Perfect timing.
Beautiful! I want to know what you do your color mixing pans. Do you keep them? I am envisioning a stack of pans, LOL! Or, do you wash them?
Yes, I like this type of video. I love trees. Is that brush the same as a dagger brush? In parts of London we have a few of these trees, so would be fun to paint them. Though they don't have coconuts
Hi Ellen, really like this one, thank you for doing these. Have a question: What is “neutral tone”? Never heard of it. Since I don’t have it, what can I substitute? Carolyn
It’s a color by Daniel Smith. It’s a shadowish color.
It’s Neutral Tint. Really dark brown. You could mix your darkest brown with some black.
🤗🤗💚💚💚💚🤗🤗
Hi Ellen I mailed you something, enjoy
It is coconut tree not palm tree
Great!
