Man I truly love watching you and Matt's channel. I had two of these silver face super reverb amps from the late 60's / early 70's, for many years. Had them fixed up re-built modded ect, but not as good as yours and Matt's. Sadly like a fool I sold them over 10 years ago and I've regretted it ever since. I've always wanted a Vibrovreb though. At one point I was going to have a combo shell made so I could stick one of the chassis in to convert it to a Vibrovreb, but just never had enough money to make it happen. For the longest time I'd been using a Rivera Chris Duarte which is their Rivera M100 but with a 15 inch EV. Though it's not quite a Vibrovreb it got me close enough. Used that with one of there Fandango heads with a custom made 2 x12 cab. Back n the day when i was using the Supers I used one of the Supers to run a Leslie 16. Them went to a Motion Sound SR112. But a few years ago I started down sizing and got rid of a lot of the vintage amps ECT. Man when I see what you guys are doing now I just kick myself. But I'm getting to old to haul all that around to the lil bar gigs now. I'm lucky if I get to use my Rivera amps in some of these places now. So I've been using and I just cringe a lil saying this a Fender Mustang lll v.2. It works great for the smaller gigs but it aint no Super lol.
1. That thing is crazy clean 2. It (and your playing) sounds amazing. 3. All of the date coded parts show up 68 or earlier? that seems surprising not being a black line specimen. 4. I already posted this on Matt's video a while back but to me that amp looks like it is screaming out "I was a ab568 and somebody changed me to ab763!!!" with the key sign being those huge solder joints on the chassis near the power tubes where the ab568 huge cathode resistors would have been. Every 763 ive ever seen/seen pics of had those solder joints much closer to the tube. Just some thoughts
Fabulous! Great vibes. Thank you... Question: In your opinion, do the different voltages amps run at in the USA and Europe affect the tone of an amp? Would this amp sound different in Europe if it was converted to run at our voltage?
Hello Nik, greetings from Ireland (fellow loud Strat and loud fender amp enthusiast) I’ve only recently found your page via Matt, just wondering is there much mods needed to convert a bandmaster Reverb to solid state recto ? I managed to pick up a 68 drip edge one and Cab in a swap for an 1980 super lead Marshall a few years ago, I’m kinda looking for a bit more bang from it as it sags a bit compared to my ‘65 ri superreverb!
Hi, I have a problem with my fender super Reverb amp by mistake I tried to turn it on at 220volt, and then when the on off switch is turned on it looks like everything work OK, but when I turn the standby switch on, it burns the fuse every time...do you have any idea what's going wrong? Thanks! Greetings from greece
Hey Nik! I have one question, aldo it is off topics i hope you can help me. So i noticed on my Victory Sheriff 22 that my power tubes el84 are different in bias. They should run around 22mV both but v5 is around 16mV and v6 works normaly around 22mV. I kinda can hear it since it get more saggy and squishy. Is it safe to run amp like this ? And should i change both or just the first one. I'm not experienced so i have to ask.
Does this amp have bias balance? did you change to blackface era bias? I caught a 69 Bandmaster Reverb and am wondering if it is worth modifying for blackface specs era. And what else would you recommend to improve the tone of these amps. Cheers
@@mikecamps7226 Great thanks....yeah I ended up years ago hacking some of the particle board back off to make it like an open back Bassman It has 4-10 in.32 ohm speakers..crazy huh ? Tweed mod would be cool yes but let me know what you come up with Thanks again

Def a sweet amp. I love the Dual Professional personally but can't go wrong with any of the Fender tube amps!

Thoughts on master volume vs. reactive load attenuator?

Cool Video Nick! Any chance you could show us more of the work while you do it? Peace!
As i said in the video. Everyones method is different
Have you installed bridge pins to get the action up to the ceiling? ;-)
No. Just set relief and nut/string height accordingly
