    Hi Jonny, I really LOVED this video....... I'm Terry and I'm a senior (71 years young) and I love performing at karaoke bars in between songs, sometimes I just do magic. I NEVER approach anyone, I like doing things visual so as those interested can come up to me. I really like using Ties/Loops and bouncing a straw in my beer bottle then floating a bill....... its quite visual from across the bar. I also have the "Mental Die" and use that when someone comes up wanting to see more..... and I have a few packet tricks..... (no full deck tricks as I like to keep them short so as not to lose their attention span, thus I prefer ones that use gaff cards.
    As for Crazy Sam's Mind..... I think this would play well with what I enjoy and currently have, I looked at it before but had reservations as I have heart issues and have a pace maker with a ICD (built in defibrillator). I was fearful that the method of this might be something "shocking" and I wouldn't be able to use that.
    As for my skill level, I consider myself just barely above beginner, but if I feel its something that will look cool/strongly visual from a distance, I'll put in the practice.
    Anyway...... thanks for the great review........ I'm probably going to order it now along with several refills.
    Sincere Thanks......
    T.
    Any comments (nothing rude) I welcome those

      Hello Terry, I loved hearing about you and your style of performance. I love it and I can tell it really works well within that environment. I think that Crazy Sam's Mind will definitely fit your style. It does take a little practice and at moments might be a little difficult to set up in front of your spectator but in the conditions you perform in I think it will be great. Thanks so much for being here and leaving the comment. I genuinely enjoyed reading it. Take care and all the best.

    Jonny, I also have this and have been practicing. I agree with your review. Great job again. You are dead on. A few additional notes. I have had the gimmick on me practicing all day, and with me while swimming and walking, etc…. And it still works. I believe the gimmick will last longer if it is “pre-conditioned” symmetrically VRs in one direction only. Also, I found that instead of it breaking, it actually expands. I believe Consistency in performance will be affected by more usage of the gimmick. So if the gimmick lasts for 20 performances, one may want to change it out even if it doesn’t break. Another thing: it is best to set up the gimmick at different points for each performance so that it can expand symmetrically. List mark it with a sharpie. This may help it perform more consistently. The other thing affecting consistency is consistent set up force. Again, another great review. Keep it up!

      Hello Calvin, so great to see your comment and the suggestions. Man those are spot on and I must admit I had not thought about the use in only one direction. i am going to start adopting this. Thanks so much for the notes, they are awesome. Wishing you well.

    Hi Jonny, hope all is good with you. I do really like the "organic" magic you describe. (I'm always promising myself i will explore more rubber band cos i love it.)
    As regards Crazy Sam's Mind ... i know you said "no loops etc" but do you need good eyesight? Because i can never see or feel those things properly.
    Many thanks and more power to your elbow my friend.

      Hah. Update. Been playing around all day and found the sequence on my own 😂 got already some cool stuff I can do pretty much 100% but the only part is I’m not sure how repeatable it is in a setting where the crowd starts to burn your hands and body… in terms of re-setup
      (Could also be called the “Chinese torture” trick.) there’s this part on my body that just hurts😂😂😂😂😂

    • @fiddlinjonny
      @fiddlinjonny  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Wolfen, I see that you were able to find a solution, and yes it can be painful. By the way you will find if you do decide to purchase the product that in the tutorial Sam does a pretty good job of demonstrating his set up in front of the spectator without them noticing. I of course find it really difficult to set up in front of the spectator and still need more practice to do that with confidence. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment.

      @@fiddlinjonny I can set it up within 1-2s and if there is a table… no biggi, you wouldn’t even think I was setting up something.
      But yeah, the setting up is kinda where it probably falls apart in the wild.
      I guess you can get the initial and a second one in before they start burning your hands and make a 3rd setup be significantly harder.

    I've practised the glasses about 200 times and I'm about 1/3rd good flip, 1/3rd bad flip, 1/3rd no flip. Flipping the card I found easy peasy. Breaking the crisp also practised roughly 200 times - I'm really struggling. Probably 1 in 10 times getting a good break. 2 in 10 times getting a small and unsatisfying break and 7 in 10 no break at all. I haven't found any correlation in the successful attempts - it just seems to randomly work or not work - similar with the glasses. Argh!

    • @fiddlinjonny
      @fiddlinjonny  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello PomBare, I sense the frustration and believe me I have been there with this specific effect. I was out just this last week performing it and damit it took me 5 or 6 tries before I could get the damn crisp to break. But after I got it it seemed to get easier again. The little trick for me is to set up the gimmick and release without any chip in hand and doing so I pay close attention to where it hits on my hand. It consistently hits in about the same inch space each time. Once I have established that then I position everything according to that. I don't know if that makes sense or not but hopefully will help some. I am glad you are here and thanks for sharing your experience as I imagine you are not alone and that many will take a while to be able to get this to consistently work for them. Have a great day.

    Strange....i got this right away. I just cant find my own gimmicks that work- but im going to try to find them for when i need more. At this point the ones in my house dont work well aside from making the noise- not strong enough to break the chip
    The setup i do have to do to the side though, the setup is hard if someones watching

      Hello TC I hope you are doing well. Yes I think finding the right gimmick might be a little challenging but then again they have started selling the refills so maybe that will be easier. I completely agree with you on the set up. I have yet to find it easy to set up in front of a spectator without being completely suspect. I do like the effect and have had a couple of instances where the chips were just a little too thick and would not break. I am sticking mostly now to really thin potato chips. Take care and thanks for watching.
