- Kenya Tax Protests LIVE: Kenyan Human Rights Commission Reacts to Violent Protests in Nairobi
Kenya's Human Rights Commission briefs media over violent demonstrations in Nairobi. This comes after anti-tax protesters stormed Kenya's Parliament building and partially burnt the premises yesterday (June 25, 2024). As a result of the escalation, reports state that at least 5 protesters were shot dead in the capital Nairobi. Kenyan President William Ruto has said that he is willing to speak to protesters in the country who are agitating against new proposed taxes.
