You want your stroke width consistent. The way you go about it almost guarantees line width inconsistency. There are guideline you can set up in every decent vector program to have images lined up consistently so the images won't jump up and down page by page as well as having corresponding sizes and once you are done, assembling all the coloring pages you assign the same line width to each image.
When setting up guidelines it depends on the volume of the book whether or whether not you need a little space near the spine. Most coloring books are low volume so usually you get away with the give for the spine other wise you better keep track of left and right pages..
I’ve been self taught on things like this over the last year, watching a few videos here and there for certain tips but your videos have helped me endlessly since I found them last week lol thanks and keep up the great work

If you have Affinity Designer, why not get Publisher? It's MADE to put books together and more powerful than PPT or presentation software? I use it and I find it user-friendly and it integrates well with Designer and Photo! Just a thought. Thanks for the video!

Paul, you make it all seem so easy. If you were starting over which program would you start with - Adobe, Infinity, Gravit or something else? Luckily I have access to Adobe, but the learning curve seems steep. Keep up the great work, can't wait until the day I share with you my sales numbers because of the example you set.
They all have steep learning curves. I like Adobe illustrator but I’d probably go with affinity designer if not just for the one off payment model. But requires a steep learning curve like illustrator.

One quick question when you talk about the height and width of this particular colour book is it 8.25 height or width? And is the document landscape or portrait ? I can’t get my head round that part 🤦♀️
Document is portrait. And no, the size in this example would be 8.5x11 as there is no bleed.

I create colouring book images from photographs I have taken and put them through Photoshop Elements 10. It's very easy to do. It does take time but you can easily make 50 images in a day, or more, from photographs.
That's great. There are a number of ways to get to the same end point. Glad you've found a way that works for you.

Would love to see you create a coloring book page using Affinity Designer and actual photos.
I'm a nature photographer and could create some one of a kind coloring books if I could get this figured out.
Affinity Designer doesn’t have image trace so you have to use a 3rd party image trace tool first. My latest video discusses that very thing.

Thank you for all the info! I’m wondering - when creating coloring books/activity books do you include a title page/copyright page? And do the total number of pages need to follow the printing ‘rule of 4’ and be divisible by 4? Or does kdp just add the number of blank pages they need?
No, I don’t include a copyright in any of mine. You can do however many pages you like. It doesn’t have to be divisible by 4. I guess it has to be an even number!

Upload to where? The KDP platform? If so, you can only upload a pdf file.

It depends on the size of the book! You need top go to bookow.com put in your size and page number to get the right size cover.
