I got 2016 390 bs3 I have in box high flow air filter + decat + midpipe + sc project moto gp exhaust with universal catalytic silencer + rapid bike easy afr module. My bike's low end rpm's more alive but my top speed decreased from 175 to 155-160. How about yours?
They're very close together. Maybe 1/2 an inch. A lot of people who delete the pre-silencer wrap their new pipe with exhaust tape to help mitigate some of that heat.
Just a question about this mini cat delete: does that change improve the bike for better air flow i guess, but in terms of power? Could that change could make the bike runs lean??? Do you need a piggybag? Thanks😅
It’s highly recommended that you run a piggyback ECU or some form of ECU modification that can add more fuel to the mixture when deleting the catalytic converter. This is especially important when running a modified air system in combination with the cat delete
@@ricardopinto1765 you “might” be able to get away with it if everything else is stock but it’s no guarantee. Bikes already run on the leaner side for emissions so it’s a gamble. The factory lean condition is also the reason these bikes don’t like to do fine low speed throttling.
I do same thing on my Svartpilen 401 with IxRace M9. Now, sound is a lot more louder for me but sound really nice. I hope police will not punish me because i live in France !

1. Yes there was some increase in response in power. Especially in torque. 2. It will gain some sound but on a stock silencer it will not be that loud. 3. It is recommended you run an aftermarket ECU when deleting the cat

I am running a similar setup like your but I don't have a cat delete , I just have a powertronic ECU + slip-on exhaust + k&n air filter(got it just coz it's easy to clean and maintain as my dad's cars also run on k&n filters) . What I am finding is that my engine is running lean and I am on the normal map from Powertronic since I purchased it for my stock bike and all the mods came in afterwards , not able to visit a dino tune but can you suggest me which map to run on ? I have searched all over the net, was not able get to any information what so ever : (
It's not preferable but you could get away with it for a little while. What I wouldn't do for sure is all the bolt on mods without an ECU to help add fuel.
I already have the Powertronic ECU. The maps they send out with them are already friendly with the mods I have. I am having the bike custom dyno tuned soon though.
Hi dude, for your ktm duke 390, have you ever seen the white smoke during cold start? I faced with the issue, I saw the white smoke during start up the engine in the morning. The issue only happens in the morning only
Only on a cold day. You'll get some light white smoke due to water burning off inside the exhaust system. Keep an eye on your coolant and oil for signs of mixing. If all looks good, I wouldn't worry too much.

I never realised how close the shock is to the pre silencer chamber. It must cop come heat

On the South African model there’s a shield between the pre silencer and the shock.

I already have a FuelX lite from Powertronics, will that work if I do a cat delete or no I need an ECU?
I just cant seem to get it in place the cat keeps on getting stuck on the shock and if the fit is good i cant seem to line up the box with the bolts
I had to use a small car jack under the black resonator box to get it back in place. It's tough but it will happen

Then the bike is at risk of running too lean and may eventually blow up

on coober's de-cat pipe they say ıt is not neccesary, ıt can usable without remap or piggyback.

You’ll have to order one for they year group as the exhaust clamp style changed after 2021 I believe it is

ECU tuning is still highly advisable when deleting the catalytic converter.

Good choice. Mini Cat delete is the way to go. The full delete including the pre-silenecer is way too loud.
This is exactly what i was looking for my Husqvarna 401 Svartpilen (same insides :P) Would you do this mod without the ECU mod?

The Rapid Bike Easy only compensate a little bit of fuel not much. Its easier to just bite the bullet now and get a proper ECU.

1 simple mod.like that may be ok but anything beyond that really deserves a fuel controller
You can get pretty much the same sound just by drilling out the baffle.
Deleting the cat is not about sound, it’s more for freeing up exhaust flow for more power.
Lose the pre silencer too. Wear clean gloves
