Thank you for watching. This was a great choice for us as we are BOTH watching for the first time. Please watch our discussion at the end, where we structure it as follows: initial raw reaction at the ending, summary/list of story points and then we make meaning of the very end with different opinions. Lots of calls for Rocky 2 have been noted. Hope you enjoy!
You're going to love these movies. Looking forward to seeing them all! By the way, $500 in 1976 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $2,773.85 today.
They did announce who won, it was Apollo. But the whole idea is that wasn't important at that point. Rocky wanted to go the distance and then he was done with the whole thing, he just wanted to go back to being with Adrian. So neither him nor Adrian are even listening to the decision of the judges.
I saw this in the theater (at 8yrs old) when it first came out. I along with the whole audience cheered as Rocky went the distance! As I grew up I realized it was actually a love story about Adrian ❤
When Stallone moved to L.A., he was taken in and stayed with actor Henry Winkler, who had just made it big as "Fonzie" on the massively successful sitcom, "Happy Days". They appeared together in the 1974 movie "Lords of Flatbush" and remain close friends to this day. Stallone gave the script to Winkler to pass around Hollywood for him. With Winkler emerging as a big TV store, he had doors opening for him, and he used those doors to help Stallone. He had offers, but Stallone held true to himself and insisted that he play the part. But Stallone got an assist from The Fonz.
That is a straight up LIE. Henry dropped Stallone off at a hotel. He never stayed 1 night at Henry's place. Sylvester & Winkler haven't "seen" each other in over 30 years. I wouldn't exactly call that close friends. Stop spreading misinformation.
I'm from Philadelphia. That shot of Rocky at the top of the Art Museum steps --- the skyline is so much different now, and not necessarily for the better. People who visit Philly make it a pilgrimage to run the steps. There is also a statue of Rocky, a prop, from the movie "Rocky III". Although the fight is supposed to take place at the Spectrum (no longer there), the scene was shot at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles. The movie ran in 1st run theaters (Major theater chains) for almost a year before its 2nd run (Small, independent theaters) and 3rd run (Drive-In movies). I saw it in a 2nd run theater. I was 11. The theater was packed and the people were jumping up and down, screaming throughout the fight scene. Mickey was played by Burgess Meredith, who, for most people of my generation, is better known as The Penguin in the Batman TV series that ran from 1966-1968.
I love it! A "split decision" on the ending, just like the fight. Since the champ wasn't beaten (it was a judges' decision that Creed won, two judges to one) he retained the title. To become the champ, you have to defeat the champ, not just tie. Love your reactions! Looking forward to seeing you do the rest of the series
Apollo was declared the winner. This is one of the few films which had the courage for the hero in sports film to lose the final competition because it credited the audience with being smart enough to know that the hero's journey wasn't about winning the contest because the hero did win. He was an amateur who held out for 15 rounds against the world champion and he will now become a competitive professional fighter and is with the woman he loves.
Yes, you do have to really listen for it, but they do announce the winner, as you said. What I found interesting is that every question the announcer was asking Rocky, the response was, "Adrian!"
It was a realistic ending. And a brave one, considering people paid to see him win. But he didn't expect to win. He just wanted to prove he was a force to be reckoned with, & worthy of respect. Not just respect FROM others, but respect FOR himself. "Not just another bum from the street." A "contender". And he did that. Also it's more of a fictional movie about the story of his life, told in a sort of autobiographical/ documentary style. Documenting his journey from being a nobody to becoming a household name, even though he lost. And a love story about 2 people who found each other later in life, but at just the right time, & gave each other some much needed confidence & strength.
Dear Dan J, I love you guys. Thank you for sharing your time with us. This is one of my favorite two movies. I saw it in the theater when I was 10 years old. I was also disappointed with the ending. Though I think I had a better idea of how boxing works at the time. There are three judges in each of their scores is red separately. The first two judges differ in their opinions. One is for Apollo and the other is for Rocky. Rocky has achieved his goal of just going the distance with Apollo Creed. He’s proved that he’s tough enough and what he wants in that moment is his deepest connection to another human being on the planet. His connection to Adrian and their mutual confession of love is what he needs to succeed in life. The fight is irrelevant. Although if you listen closely, you can hear the announcer saying “and still heavyweight champion of the world, Apollo Creed.”
I should also mention the brilliance of the writing and the portrayal of Apollo Creed. Apollo is the opponent in the movie, but he is not the villain. Hopelessness, despair, the pressure of life is the villain. Apollo is merely Rockies opponent. Polly, Mickey, and Adrian at times are all opponents of Rocky. His perseverance brings them to his side.
You have just started a journey of emotions you will never forget! It hits harder as an adult and J will appreciate that ending one day!! Stallone wrote the script after attending a fight where he seen an unknown challenger knock the champion down and his reaction was "no matter what happens this guy will now be remembered for eternity" Looking forward to seeing more of the Rocky series.
I think you would both really enjoy Rocky 2. It's almost as good as the first because it picks up right after the fight, so it's basically a continuation. It also manages to keep the heart that made the original so good.
I am proud and very happy to still be supporting both of you and your youtube channel as a subscriber and liking your movie reaction videos , especially since your reacting to Rocky e.t.c. Thank you to both of you and and your son for taking the time to watch a real classic movie and watching / reacting to one of my favourite movies of all time " Rocky" , if you loved Rocky i am confident you will also love Rocky 2 , 3 possibly 4 , 5 and for certain Rocky 6. Please continue to watch the rest of the Rocky Movie saga. I guarantee you will fall in love with the Rocky movies and the relationship between mickey and Rocky , but most of all Rocky and Adrian's relationship(s) as the movies go on. I was very lucky to be introduced to the Rocky movies as a child as my uncle introduced me to Rocky 3 as i was a big , massive, huge boxing fan growing up throughout my childhood as i enjoyed watching and following real heavyweight legends and icons of boxing such as The Rock Rocky Marciano, The G.O.A.T. Muhammad Ali, Joe Fraiser, Iron Mike Tyson, Butterbean, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, George Foreman , Frank Bruno e.t.c. Therefore I was first introduced to Rocky 3 by my uncle who i bonded with and still do today over The Classic Rocky Movies and real life Boxing (especially over the real heavyweights I already listed though.) That is why Rocky 3 is my favourite movie of The Rocky Movie Saga, then Rocky 2, Rocky 6, Rocky 4, Rocky 1 and finally Rocky 5, Anyway I hope you both continue to watch rest of The Rocky Movie Saga together and I'm confident you will both enjoy it as the Rocky Movie Saga keeps going. It's a real inspiration and great for motivation, especially when you don't feel like exercising e.t.c. , it will make you feel motivated and inspire you to work out and probably make you feel like boxing lol 😆😁😃. I'm now 35 and still love watching The Rocky Movie Saga over and over again as it still really inspires and keeps me motivated today at 35 and probably will for the rest of life. Whenever life gets hard I think of Rocky 6 and Rocky's take on life which reminds me to keep going no matter how tough life gets and keep getting up whenever life tries to knock me down to quote Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) himself from Rocky Balboa (Rocky 6) "If you let it, life will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently, because no one hits as hard as life, but it ain't about how hard you hit it's about how hard you can get it and keep moving foward , that's how winning is done". I hope you both enjoy The rest of "The Rocky Movie Saga" and remember to keep punching your way through life and getting up no matter what it throws at you despite how hard life is or gets 🥊🥊. As you said it pulls you in slowly , well as the Rocky movie's keep going it will pull you in more and more and you might get rather emotional at certain parts, which is ok if you do show and express your emotions, especially watching and reacting to The Rocky Movie Saga.
Also, when I was in the US Army, sometimes a car would drive by during our morning runs and they would blast that song... Motivated us more... Well, motivated me...
Boxing uses the "10-point must" system. The basis is that at the end of each round, each judge decides which fighter won that round. The winner of the round is awarded 10 points, and the other fighter is awarded 9 points. In the event of a knockdown, the fighter who is knocked down loses a point. Presuming the knocked-down fighter was also the loser of the round, the score for that round would be 10 - 8. A fighter may also lose a point as a penalty for rule violation. At the end of the bout, the points are totaled. So, suppose a 10-round bout, with one fighter winning all rounds, no knockdowns or penalties, the score would be 100 to 90.
Rocky isn't really a boxing movie, it's a love story.. Sylvester Stallone created an endearing character that's still beloved to this day in my hometown of Philadelphia.. When he comes to town he is greeted by shouts of "Yo Rocky" wherever he goes and his statue that sits nearby those famous steps is the 2nd most visited site (over 4 million a year) after the Liberty Bell.. Great Reaction!!
38:04 As a child I loved parts 3 and 4. As an adult I especially enjoy parts five and six, but also the first two parts much more than when I was a child.
The reason Paulie's unhappy is never explained throughout the entire series, BUT, if you look carefully in his house, there are photos of Paulie in the Navy, which leads me to believe he was once a very honourable man who feels cheated by his government.
Also, when he throws his temper tantrum with the bat, he blames Adrian for the fact that he never got married and lead a separate successful life apart from her.
Also, to add onto James' comment: There's no parents around, so Paulie probably gave up any personal dreams to raise a young Adrian and a hard Philly life since has helped bring out his darker side.
I saw Rocky on the big screen in 1976 when I was 13. I admit that I was confused about the outcome of the fight the first time I watched as well. There is so much chaos that it's easy to miss the announcement in favor of Creed. However, upon later viewings I realized that the reporters were only asking Rocky about going the distance and whether there would be a rematch. No mention of Rocky winning the fight. So, you can infer that Apollo had won the match.
Thayer David played the fight promoter and, yes, he pretty much looked like a toad. Because of that he would sometimes play the villain, but not always. Mickey is ace character actor Burgess Meredith, in films for 41 years at this point, usually in supporting roles. Plus extensive work in television. You would also enjoy him in "Of Mice and Men", "Foul Play" and "A Big Hand For The Little Lady".
I had an Italian friend growing up that was really into the Rocky series in the 80s . VHS rental was new in our town and his family rented the original , 2 and 3 every weekend . He had the dialog from them all memorized and he called himself The Italian Stallion lol , good times .
The actor who plays the annoying whiny brother Paulie was a very solid professional boxer in real life. It's bizarre to think that if there was a real life boxing match between him and Sylvester Stallone, Stallone would have likely lost!
Rocky was one of the only movies that I see the Theater crowd of viewers get up from their seats and cheer in the last fight against Creed, there only has been 3 other movies I've ever seen people do that too when watching in public, it really shows you how emotional strong this movie is that it gets people so involved with what's going on that you find yourself carrying on talking to Rocky like he hears you. 10/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome movie.
There are 3 judges. The split decision means 2 of the judges scored the fight in Apollo’s favor. That’s the decision. 2 judges to 1 in favor of Apollo. If u notice in Rocky’s first morning running he runs up the museum’s stairs he barely makes it and doubles over holding his side with a cramp. At the end he sprints up the stairs.
Being able to watch the very first rocky for the very first time as a grown man with your son is probably one of the rarest things in the world right now this video right here is a special one.
20:45 it is other way around: In boxing, left-handed people learn the so-called southpaw stance, in which they move forward with the right hand and right foot, but deliver the strongest punches with the left fist
You were right the "distance" in a boxing fights it's only 12 rounds but in 1976 was 15, they change it in 1982 after a boxer got killed in the 14th round
I think all of us, the first time we saw Rocky, discovered that it wasn't the movie we thought it was. But something more complex, and more of a drama, than simply a boxing movie. The same goes for Saturday Night Fever, which comes to mind because it's from the same era and also has this background of Italian-American neighborhoods. I recommend that you see it. We have a superficial idea of what it can be from the typical scenes that we have seen over and over again but when you see the film you are very pleasantly surprised. By the way, kind of funny, since I mention Saturday Night Fever. Sylvester Stallone directed the sequel, Staying Alive.
You have got to watch the rest of these. I think you'll both love at least most of them. Most people don't like 5 (including Stallone himself), but these movies are like national treasures here in the States. 3 and 4 especially will really get your blood rushing.
The did announce who won.. It was Apollo... the point of the movie was in the end some things were more important that winning a fight. He got respect, he found love, thats all he really ever wanted. Also it was the 1970s which was a very different time in US history, it was a depressed time, so the movies reflected that, you will find a lot of movies where the good guys do not win in the end, because that was reality of the time to many people, that would change in the 80s, where the Hero always wins in the end.... this is reflected in the sequels to this movie. 2 Movies you MUST watch that are very similar to the theme in this one are 1) The Bad News Bears and 2) Another Sly Stallone Movie, First Blood.
Please do the rest of the Rocky movies. I think your son will like them more and more as they go along through to Rocky 4 as more action happens. There is a reason the whole series is beloved by many,
This movie is a lot like Rambo. Everyone already knows who and what Rambo is and they are basically parodies of themselves. But the originals are incredible. You guys should watch First Blood if already haven’t.
All of Paulie's crazy selfish actions I think can be explained by a single understated line of his "I can't haul meat no more...". He's desperate to find a different line of work and just can't. Rocky won't let him work for Gazzo and won't let him help him train so he's resentful. Adrian unwittingly helps convince Rocky to not help Paulie and Paulie resents that too. Plus he's drunk 96% of the time so that is amplified. This doesn't excuse his actions, but it does help explain them.
I’m excited you haven’t seen it before! I love it when it’s the first time for both of you. Especially for a classic like this. And busting out the VHS copy!!! Triple point score 🎉
I like the ending because it's realistic - Rocky just wanted to "go the distance" and he did. He also didn't want people to look at him like he's a bum and then people respected him and took him seriously. Thinking he was celebrating "just running up a couple of steps" - go to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and you'll see it's not easy; it's 72 steep steps. I went there once and started running up thinking it was going to be funny.......I didn't even get up a quarter of the way before I was wheezing. I love when the son said "is he going to wash he face" when Rocky kneeled to pray. LOL
A surprising choice for this week, guys. I wasn't expecting Rocky at all. I always found the fighting hard to watch. Nice to see you both again, anyway.
Thanks for the apology upfront.. I believe anybody that has not seen Rocky and is over 30 years old can get arrested and do jail time in Some States. In Pennsylvania it's the Death ☠️ Penalty.
At 1:02:27 that was the light bulb on the head. You realized that love triumphs all. And your son will cry his heart out when he peaks..😅 and say to himself "omg dad was right about this ending" 😭@@GenerationMediaReaction
Genius film, no villain, the antagonist is internal, Rocky's own self doubt. Apollo wins but it's lost in the chaos because it doesn't matter. Rocky won the battle within himself, and true love and hard work prevailed. You guys are great, may I suggest The Truman Show. Saw it when I was 12 the day it came out, still one of my favourites of all time. Keep up the great work 💪😉
There you guys agree. Can you remind me of my dad and me for watching movies in my family, but yeah, my dad would have us watching most rated hard movies. My mama be so mad.
When this movie first came out we went and saw it in the theater and at the end of the movie everyone in the theater loved the movie so much and the under dog story that we all stood and gave it a standing ovation!!! Never happened before or since!!?
BRILLIANT Reactions Gentlemen! Enjoy the touching progression of the remaining Rocky movies! My first time finding your channel so I had to subscribe to Journey with you both some more! Much appreciation for you two, from here in beautiful Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Shawn
Apollo won the fight - Rocky won the night by going the distance, which no one ever had with Creed, plus he also won Adrian's love. He's the real winner. It's perfect. i remember as a kid thinking the same as your son that Rocky lost, but he'll understand when he gets older lol.
Great reaction you two....Fun fact: Sylvester Stallone still has the two turtles, cuff & link, to this day. And they even had a recent cameo in the 'Tulsa King' TV series that Stallone is currently in.
Well......I think "2" is going to be a lot of fun!!!!!!! As stated, your son is not quite there yet....he will be. In fact, I predict that we will see of some of that growth, right before our very eyes. Great job Guys. A great way to tell just how good a movie was, is to see how excited we are to see the next one, ASAP. Remember, WE had to wait 4 years!!!! Enjoy.
Stallone is also in the expendable series great action movies especially the 3rd lots of stars, Arnold s.,Bruce Willis and others you'll really like them
I was 14 years old when Rocky came out. Would love to share with you my short autobiography, Victory over Anger. For the book explains the deep impact that the Stallone characters of Rocky and Rambo had on my life. Just let me know. I am sure you will find it to be a very interesting and inspiring read. Jim
Thanksgiving is a big holiday. Nothing is open that day, especially back then. Or they close early. It’s an incredibly stressful day. Not to sit down for thanksgiving dinner is unheard of. I don’t eat turkey but EVERYONE has turkey. What her brother did was horrible. And no one goes out on a date on thanksgiving.
And he was in several classic The Twilight Zone TV series episodes.... Plus he was in 'Grumpy Old Men' & the sequel 'Grumpier Old Men' with the two comedy greats Jack Lemon & Walter Matthau.
Fights today go as far as 12 rounds. Back in the 70’s, it was 15 rounds and way before then fights went as many rounds as it took for someone to go down!😳
Your lad reacted to the slowness and ending the way I did when I watched Rocky for the first time at around his age but like me I think when he gets older he'll realise what the film is really about and how perfect that ending is for the story told. Keep up the good work you two.
@@GenerationMediaReaction People give Sly a lot of stick for some cheesy films but his performances in this and First Blood (my favourite ending monologue after Bladerunner) show what great range and talent he truly has.

You're going to love these movies. Looking forward to seeing them all! By the way, $500 in 1976 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $2,773.85 today.
Great reaction fellas 👏 Yep, please, you must now do Rocky 2. Rocky! Rocky! Rocky! 😉🙂
I loved the ending because it showed that at the end it didn’t matter who won, what mattered was that Rocky got Adrian and there love was his win.
Yes exactly
I love how your son thought the ending was horrible, but how you as the father was obviously moved by the ending. Your son will understand one day.
I think so ❤️

I knew someone would google it! Thanks ! we estimated quite well!

I love that you haven’t watched it Dad! You and son are equal!🎉
Ah, great to know he's received well in Philadelphia! The film feels like it loves and celebrates the city and it's people
First time watching is always the best.
This was my interpretation also. Perhaps they delve into him deeper in the sequels
@GenerationMediaReaction the actor who plays Paulie was once a boxer look him up
Nah,,,,,he's just a miserable drunk meat man from Philly
Also, to add onto James' comment: There's no parents around, so Paulie probably gave up any personal dreams to raise a young Adrian and a hard Philly life since has helped bring out his darker side.
They DID announce who won if you listen. 3 judges, split decision. Rocky got 1 vote Apollo got 2 so Apollo wins.
We piece it together in the review
I saw Rocky on the big screen in 1976 when I was 13. I admit that I was confused about the outcome of the fight the first time I watched as well. There is so much chaos that it's easy to miss the announcement in favor of Creed. However, upon later viewings I realized that the reporters were only asking Rocky about going the distance and whether there would be a rematch. No mention of Rocky winning the fight. So, you can infer that Apollo had won the match.
My favorite Rocky movies in order: Rocky 3, 1, 6 (Rocky Balboa), 2, 4, 5
The Dad must be the new Police chief on Amity Island with that Amity Police hoodie! 👮👍
1975 was a tough year !
The number of rounds was changed to 12 in 1982 after the death of a boxer.
Stallone kept the turtles in Rocky as pets and he still has them
I had a rocky t-shirt backnin 8th grade it was light blue I still remember, I'm 62 now 😂
4:16 woah…… yes, my childhood….😅 I still have several, and a player. And I watch a few from time to time. 😊
The actor who plays the annoying whiny brother Paulie was a very solid professional boxer in real life. It's bizarre to think that if there was a real life boxing match between him and Sylvester Stallone, Stallone would have likely lost!
Your son will LOVE Rocky 2!
Those were the days !
Great reaction by both of you. Keep doing this.
Such a unique film, Stallone's acting iis very underrated his face shows the emotion of a lot parts pefectly.
Thinks he’s excellent in it. You’re right, he’s downplaying everything which is endearing
So interesting that J said "rubish" and D was so touched by the ending. More confirmation on how great this film truly is. It's not a boxing movie.
I think we captured a very true reaction
Rocky Balboa is the greatest movie character of all time.
A boxing movie where boxing isn't the story. It didn't matter who won the fight. Great writing by Stallone. Can't wait for Rocky II
'Rocky II' is actually my favourite. If we get there I'll explain why!
Rocky Lost but he did what he wanted to do. He went the distance and even loosing he won.
Philly is a character in the film. Just simply amazing
Yes, it’s a love letter to the city !
58:43 Was 15 rounds in those days. A few years later in 1982 they changed to 12 rounds.
Being able to watch the very first rocky for the very first time as a grown man with your son is probably one of the rarest things in the world right now this video right here is a special one.
Thank you. And I love our contrast to the ending!
Tourist to Philadelphia often run up those steps as a challenge and in respect to ROCKY.
20:45 it is other way around:
In boxing, left-handed people learn the so-called southpaw stance, in which they move forward with the right hand and right foot, but deliver the strongest punches with the left fist
You were right the "distance" in a boxing fights it's only 12 rounds but in 1976 was 15, they change it in 1982 after a boxer got killed in the 14th round
Ah, that’s why 12 was in my head
@@johnnybmean74 Yeah but the fight takes place on 1976
I think all of us, the first time we saw Rocky, discovered that it wasn't the movie we thought it was.
They did say that Apollo won … though they were focusing mostly on Rocky and Adrianne .
Rocky 2 is an all time great sequel!
There is a reason the whole series is beloved by many,
This is one of my favorite movies, and I’ve always thought that guy looked like a toad too 😂
I was just trying to convince someone to watch this yesterday! So rad! What a film!
Fights used to be 15 rds. Now they’re 12.
George Washington crossing the Delaware. Apollo Creed reenacting it. Patriotic.😂
Love your lil back n forth at the end 😉
I enjoyed watching your reaction to the Rocky movie. If you listen closely at the end they announce that Apollo won the fight.
Sylvester choreographed the whole fight !!
We spotted that !
This movie is a lot like Rambo. Everyone already knows who and what Rambo is and they are basically parodies of themselves. But the originals are incredible. You guys should watch First Blood if already haven’t.
Since yous really wanted to see Apollo’s training style, you get it in the 3rd movie when he and Rocky train together
It's so good!
In Pennsylvania it's the Death ☠️ Penalty.
phew, it's a good job I'm 21 years old then !
At 1:02:27 that was the light bulb on the head. You realized that love triumphs all. And your son will cry his heart out when he peaks..😅 and say to himself "omg dad was right about this ending" 😭@@GenerationMediaReaction
@@Mac1975lvyep, amazing. He’ll get it one day
South Jersey too
VHS blast from the past. Be kind and rewind! 🧑🦯
But don't insert that moldy VHS tape into working VCR if you still have one. It will not play the movie, but it would very likely destroy the VCR.
Yeah the tape could also snap. It's more like a trophy/memento now
Genius film, no villain, the antagonist is internal, Rocky's own self doubt. Apollo wins but it's lost in the chaos because it doesn't matter. Rocky won the battle within himself, and true love and hard work prevailed. You guys are great, may I suggest The Truman Show. Saw it when I was 12 the day it came out, still one of my favourites of all time. Keep up the great work 💪😉
Thank you. Yes we want to do Truman Show !
Wow!
BRILLIANT Reactions Gentlemen! Enjoy the touching progression of the remaining Rocky movies! My first time finding your channel so I had to subscribe to Journey with you both some more! Much appreciation for you two, from here in beautiful Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Shawn
Awesome! Thank you!
Apollo won the fight - Rocky won the night by going the distance, which no one ever had with Creed, plus he also won Adrian's love. He's the real winner. It's perfect.
i remember as a kid thinking the same as your son that Rocky lost, but he'll understand when he gets older lol.
Yes absolutely. I think this conclusion to the film and our differing reactions to it are very true for a lot of people
Rocky series is more about rocky and Adrian love for each other with boxing in it
Great reaction you two....Fun fact: Sylvester Stallone still has the two turtles, cuff & link, to this day. And they even had a recent cameo in the 'Tulsa King' TV series that Stallone is currently in.
Amazing
J, you may recognize some iconic music and scenes that you didn’t know you knew. 😊
He does!
Enjoy.
Thank you! Many comments are advising the sequel so looks likes we will have to do it
Stallone is also in the expendable series great action movies especially the 3rd lots of stars, Arnold s.,Bruce Willis and others you'll really like them
👏🏼👏🏼
“To me, it’s just Thursday”
Burgess meridith( mickey) played the penguin in the old batman TV series back in 70s
And he was in several classic The Twilight Zone TV series episodes....
Plus he was in 'Grumpy Old Men' & the sequel 'Grumpier Old Men' with the two comedy greats Jack Lemon & Walter Matthau.
He will love the 2nd one and the rest
Did you hear my audible gasp? I got light headed hearing you never saw Rocky.
I know i know i know !
Better late than never...
Sounds like a genius cat name!!!😂🤣😂😂
Fights today go as far as 12 rounds. Back in the 70’s, it was 15 rounds and way before then fights went as many rounds as it took for someone to go down!😳
Your lad reacted to the slowness and ending the way I did when I watched Rocky for the first time at around his age but like me I think when he gets older he'll realise what the film is really about and how perfect that ending is for the story told. Keep up the good work you two.
Thank you. I think he liked it more than he thought and agree the maturity was just so slightly out of reach, and he will remember it because of that
@@GenerationMediaReaction People give Sly a lot of stick for some cheesy films but his performances in this and First Blood (my favourite ending monologue after Bladerunner) show what great range and talent he truly has.
@@Nah_Mate_Aint_NowtHe's a good actor, but with a limited range.
@@johnnybmean74 I feel he has far more range than he's given credit for, off the top of my head the only part I haven't seen him do is a true villain.
You should watch Rocky 2! The second film is the best, you’ll be glad you watched it.
Then you’ve got to see “Rocky 2”it picks up right where this one ends!! Really good!!!
Ok, gonna have to !
“that was a rubbish ending” 😂😂
