thank you a million times over,... you have NO IDEA how many cartridges that are now on STANDBY waiting to get drained! You are a credit to mankind for your time & consideration for making this vid available to depleted BROS Printer Owners, worldwide. Cheers.
Actually, this doesn't always work, which is probably why you got a thumbs-down. I found a video on TH-cam that has the proper answer. Open the door, then close it again, then open it again and then press 1. If you do it that way, you don't have to try and press it so quickly, and it will always work. The way you show, sometimes you have to try it several times before the menu appears.
Bless you both! I am just tickled pink that I found this video and was able to get my printer to stop telling me the yellow toner was out even when I just replaced it with a brand new one!! I'm sure I probably wasted a lot of money buying new cartridges when the old ones were still good!!
Hello! I am not at our machine but will try this in the morning. We changed the black toner with a new cartridge but continue to get the "toner low" message for K on our computers. Do I only need to reset K. TNR-S.HC and K. TNR-HC? And in that order? Thank you so much for the video assistance.
+Laura Kirkham you should only need to press one of those. You're essentially lying to the printer and telling it you have put a new toner cartridge in it, so you specify the type of cartridge. "S.HC" just means "Super High Capacity" versus "HC" which just means "High Capacity". It likely makes no difference which one you select, as long as you've reset whatever colour it thinks is low (e.g. K for black).
Hi John, I'm aware that is an easier and more reliable method of getting the menu up in normal circumstances, but this video was to show a relative how to do it when there's an error on the screen (e.g. the firmware is insisting that a cartridge is empty). As far as I'm aware from my experience with my own unit, the opening the door and closing it method doesn't work in this situation so you have to be quick.
Well i'd like to disable the ship that counts the number of pages. Y just wanna do a scan and all the printer's frozen for one cartridge low. Yes of course i F*** you Brother!
Thanks Andrew. Still a worthy video even after 5.5 years.
