    Hi Carsten, I just got finished watching a few of your videos and have
    to compliment and thank you for posting them. I download them onto a
    flash drive and watch them on my HDTV! I find them an excellent
    teaching resource and inspiration!
    I'm just coming back to the hobby after about 25 years away and was
    thinking of making TH-cam videos too. I was quite impressed with the
    clarity, zoom and picture quality in your videos. Could you do me a
    favor and tell me what video camera you use? Any other tips you might
    like to share would be nice too. Please keep the videos coming. I'm
    learning a lot from them! Be well and God bless!

    Great job on her Carsten. Would like to try this method on the new Tamiya M-10. LOL.

      try it Keith, it is more or less the same technique.... you can work with one colour more when you paint the highlights.. I would work with 4 colours when I paint a 1/35 scale model... but 3 colours are also good.
      greetings Carsten

    excellent as always! Maybe you could do an accelerated view of the commission paint at various stages just to show the process you undergo. This would also be very interesting, at least once or twice!

    When doing panel modulation the largest horizontal surface closest to the light source that entire surface should be the highlight. The top deck and all of the exterior turret and majority interior should be all the highlight color with total coverage. Shading on a totally lit surface is then modulated with washes. It will look better overall and catch the eye creating a greater shadow effects.

      they are many ways to paint tanks.....zenithal light... panel lightning..... modulation.... or maybe to mix some techniques..... I like it how my M10 looks like...

    Really nice video. I wish i could paint as good. I think i learned some nice things from it. I have a question: Do you dilute your wash when doing a pin wash? It seems to flow extremely well into the recesses. On my models i always struggle with getting the wash where it should go.

    Another awesome paint job Carsten! I was inspired by your Sherman video and purchased all the paint you used to do my own Sherman tanks and am very pleased with their out come. I noticed on this one you did not use the filter that you used in the Sherman video. Did that get cut out or did you simple choose not to use it on this tank?

    • @Tightheadproppainting

      Hello Joshua,
      I didnt used a filter this time.....the olive green from the U.S. vehicles is very dark... I gave the model good strong highlights, but I thought a filter would be maybe too much. Thats the reason why I didnt used a filter.
      Greetings Carsten

    awesome work !!!do you have to thin down the colours for the airbrush ?

    • @Tightheadproppainting
      @Tightheadproppainting  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chrissi, you can use the colours right from the bottle.. you dont need to dilute the colours

    Great Video ..Question though..Before you undercoated I noticed you had given the panels some texture I think? How did you do this. I loved he effect that gave on the Hull areas e.tc. Please share that technique in a video perhaps?:)

    • @Tightheadproppainting
      @Tightheadproppainting  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi forry, i used plastic glue and putty to make the surface a little bit rough...because the metal from the tanks in world war two was not a nice metal what we know from machines or other vehicles.. it is a very old technique what scale modellers use to give a tank a realistic look.
      You are the third one who asked me about that... I guess I make a video about that.. I made one.... long time ago with a 1/35 scale tank....but I do an other one with a wargaming tank
      Greetings Carsten

    Inside of the tank hull should be an off white . Normally this would never be seen, but when its an open top tank like an M10 .

      Hi Pepin, yes... it can be possible with the white colour inside....I am not sure how it is when the turret is open......thank you for the link, but there are also a lot of other websides where you see the M 10 with an olive colour inside...
