Hi buddy yes bolt probe plunger is available in custom brass from e bay for Ultra MMC and Hornet .The original BSA part isn't made anymore.Hope this helps .Tony
New sub. Just sold my Ultra MMC with huma gauge as I am suffering with my arthritis and it was getting too much. Stunning little rifle. 55 good shots and laser accurate. I bought a new R10 and sent it to Airtech for a stage 2 tune and 32mm carbon shroud. Stunning work by Carl and I have the BSA rifle I always wanted and how it should have been from the factory
Sorry to hear about the arthritis Roy. I love my R10 . Glad yours is working out just as well. They are fantastic rifles once they have had a bit of fettling. Thanks for the sub hope you enjoy the other videos.
Hi mate great vid. I’ve got a 2006 MMC multshot. In .177. Honestly it’s my go to rifle. I’ll do a vid of mine and the whole story about why I still use it over says why I swapped it for a S510US. Well done buddy
A very helpful and importantly honest review 👍 Not sure about the comment that older BSA’s have better barrels. Rumours and opinions abound, however it wouldn’t stop me buying another BSA 😁
The first PCP I owned was a hornet single shot in .177. I bought my Ultra because I liked the hornet so much and wanted a .22 for use around buildings and in barns. Great guns.
I wanted one of these so much when they first came out, Too young and not enough money at the time though sadly, now the price of the new version seems to be quite a bit more than I remember your original version being when it first came out,, I might be imagining things though, great video and a lovely little Rifle you have there Mr Garden guns! Thanks for sharing this with us all
@@gardenguns thanks for replying so quickly, doesn't the possibility of worn-out seals or even more serious/costly issues not worry you with the second hand market though?? And would you try (local) Gun shops or a person to person sale if you were in my shoes? Again thanks for replying so promptly buddy and I apologize if I am pestering you with too many questions...
I have no problem buying second hand. I am lucky to have Phil @Ratworks 20 minutes from me. He is the boss with BSA’s and another of other makes. I would assume for piece of mind I would get any second hand rifle in for a service at some point. Buying second hand is all about finding the right rifle for you at the right price. If you buy from a shop though many will offer you at least 30 days warranty. Check with them and find out what they offer. Hope this helps.
Cheers Paul. As soon as the weather improves and I have the time off I’ am planning to do that next. Have a good new year and I wish you all the best for 2021
Great review keep them coming. Love a great budget rifle. The information you gave was perfect. With the prices and where to get the work done. people tend to shy away from that part I don't know why it's what we need to hear. Will hopefully be buying a huntsman regal next year if I can find the right deal. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Interesting video, I would like to see your “review” on your R10, plus as an offshoot you appear to take part in HFT, would be nice to hear the rulers and regulations etc on this sport and see how competitions are marked etc Stay safe and go steady
Thanks for the feedback.I’ll bo the R10 next. As for the HFT I’ll have a think about it and see if I can put something together. All the best for 2021!
Good review.Just bought a second hand s200 with the 10 shot conversion.Phil at Ratworks has just worked his magic on it and I pick it up tomorrow. Can’t wait to see how it performs. Look forward to more reviews. Atb👍🏻
@@gardenguns The one I've got has some war marks but nothing to bad. And it still pushing 11.5 so happy with that for rabbits and other game. But after watching your review. What is the one mod you think I should get with this one 🤔. Help always welcome and keep posting please awesome content 👍🏻👍🏻
In order this is what I would do. Regulator, pressure gauge, tune/ blueprint. The reg gets the most out of the tiny cylinder plus kills the power curve. The gauge takes all of the effort out of tracking where you are on the fill. The tune - well you have gone this far might as well get that extra couple of % out of it!
@@gardenguns Merry Christmas in return ! Would be interesting to see where the MMC qualities are better than the bolt versions. Happen to have an MMC Tactical Single Shot that groups 5 into 8 mm at 50 M (indoors). THX for the nice vid !
Hi, glad you enjoyed the video. The main rule and the most important, is that the pellet cannot leave the boundary’s of the land you have permission to shoot on. That includes ricochets. The next is not to cause a nuisance to your neighbours. The general public is pretty uninformed about shooting sports.. The last thing you want is a knock on the door from the police. Make sure you have a safe area in which you shoot, with a good back stop. If the neighbours ask what is going on invite them over to have a go so you can show them how safe it is and hopefully dispel any worries they have. Also if anybody does call the police they will want to check on what you are doing. If they see you are being safe with a legal limit air rifle in your own property they will loose interest fairly quickly.
If you ever need parts that are no longer made you could always go to one of the thousands of engineering firms in this country and I'm sure you could get anything you want made .
@@gardenguns Awesome. I have access to a decent workshop with a lathe, milling machine, large pillar drill, hot works area etc, and I'm pretty keen on airguns myself. I was going to suggest; if I know the diameter of the probe and the length and type of the male thread I can make a brass plunger.
Thank you very much for the offer. I wish I had been taught how to use a lathe. It would be nice to have the knowledge to be able to use and have access to fabrication tools. I got a grade 4 CSE in DT. I was lucky if they let me near a glue gun.
@@gardenguns No worries, I'd be happy to do it. I'm going to add a BSA Ultra to my collection soon and after hearing good things about Rat Works am interested in having it tuned and regulated.
If you can find a good condition MMC go for that. In my opinion they are more old school BSA rather than Gamo BSA. The current ultra is pretty much a Gamo Fox. Phil at Ratworks is great, say hello from me if you go and see him.
Hi Jenna, I know Phil doesn’t do some types. It would be worth giving him a call or email directly. I also think he has information on his website. Hope that helps.
Great to revisit the older videos 😊

Sandwell field sports for the plunger
Cheers mate
Is this pressure gauge original or has it been adapted? Remember the one from the AT44
The pressure gauge is a Rat Works one. The original Ultra’s didn’t have one.
What silencer you got on there ?

EBay was my friend!
If the female thread of the plunger is stripped and you can't find a replacement it wouldn't be very difficult to make one.
I was pointed in the direction of a clever chap on eBay doing just that!
