How are you doing on the Paul Desmond transcription challenge? Is it working out for you? Sorry for the audio, tried a new way including a microphone boom directly into the camera, but especially for the saxophone playing it wasn't a good idea... (especially on the middle E, it seems to slightly crack somehow)and of course I was also turned off camera, to make it worse. But I think the message comes across. Didn't have time to re-record it. If you have more questions or thoughts, shoot! Hi Jorre, it was a little bit too much for me but I was nearing and I learned a lot. Especially the importance to relax my fingers and pressing the pearls with just enough force. What I m interested is the samr kind of analysis of the alto playing of Art Pepper. Desmond and Pepper have some resemblance of sound but Pepper is more adventurous and disorganized, harsher up high but beautiful subtile in the low ends of the horn. Hope you could eleborate about his playing style and methods. Thanks in advance.
Hi, sorry for the late reply, but sure! I will include a partial as long as it runs. Goal is to go for it and try to learn from it. By the way, if you're still trying to get it in time with that rather fast tempo, leave all the vibrato/sound/phrasing etc aside. Notes and rhythm in time, that's the first goal and that just as far as you can manage. That's already one big graceful leap to take
I hear allot of Ghost tongue in your playing , There are so many videos to master this But It drives me crazy that no matter how much I try I can't do it Maybe I have a short tongue something 🤪🤪🤪 or just not good enough with my tongue ( that's what she said!😅) Ghost notes notes : Please watch this video of David Sanborn and Bob Berg going at each other MILES DAVIS (w Robben ford Dave Sanborn and Bob Berg Burn 1986 I think there is no better example of Half Tonguing Between Sanborn and Bob specially Sanborn

As to my ears desmond tongues almost every note here. And imitating this in tempo is what i'm working on right now ) Legato is not an option!
Hi, not being sure that I will manage all of it. To you also accept partial submissions, e.g. only the first chorus? Best, Moritz
