- Original Sin is perhaps one of the most misunderstood and misrepresented teachings in the Bible. While not using the term "Original Sin," St. Paul clearly teaches this category in his famous tome, when writing his epistle to the Romans.
In Romans 5, Paul speaks of Original Sin when he writes about death and spiritual disfigurement of man entering the world through the first actual sin. Through this act of disobedience, this breaking of communion of God and entering into a covenant with Satan is a spiritual state that has been passed down to Adam and Eve's children. Hence, this is why Paul speaks of death entering through one Man and what came to be accomplished and conquered through one Man, the New Adam, Jesus Christ.
Whereas the Old Adam has passed down or "gifted" a state of broken relationship with God through an act of disobedience he committed, the New Adam, Christ, is gifting us a state of a relationship made right through his act of obedience, provided we remain in that state after Baptism and do not break covenant with God after.

I agree that this is definitely one of the best Catholic channels on YT. Many of them are tainted with ideologies and start to sound like political parties and bad Pharisees. This channel on the other hand, focuses on feeding the sheep, keeping their eyes on Christ -the most essential thing and Being.
Before watching: Dr. Pitre is best on this kind of teaching.

This is the best Catholic channel on YT. Adam was a type of the one to come. In typology, Jesus was the New Adam and Our Lady was the New Eve as they share the same flesh just as Eve was made from Adam and Jesus calls Mary "woman" just as Adam referred to Eve as "woman". Mary is the "woman" referred to in Revelations who bears a King and battles the dragon who hates her and her children (the followers of Christ) . The Gospel of John which starts with "In the beginning" is a new creation story just as Genesis is a creation story and starts with "In the beginning".
In John it links back to the 7 days of Creation in Genesis
We hear the first mention of Messiah - Day 1
John 1:29 the next day - Day 2
John 1:35 the next day - Day 3
John 1:43 the next day - Day 4
John 2:1 On the Third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee - Day 7 (when Jesus performed his first miracle)

Sacrifice ...blood and water ....animal in the Old testament ....Jesus in the new testament.....the Old testament .....animal was sacrificed on an alter and a small fountain of water was always there washing the blood away ....so blood and water ....same with Christ ..blood and water .

@Patrick Montgomery no, it's not an error. And yes, Paul was a Catholic like all Christians in the first Centuries.
But don't believe me. Just read the writings of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, direct disciple of Saint John and Saint Peter. The Catholic Doctrine he writes is crystal clear. Google it.
And remember: Christianity didn't start in the XVI Century.

@@tony1685 Jesus only had one Commandment - that we love one another as he had loved us. The 10 Commandments are from God the Father and the Catholic Church keeps them ALL. We don't allow divorce/remarriage, there aren't many faith groups who don't allow that and they break a Commandment.

If we inherited Adam’s sin and were born with a sinful nature, we have Bible contradictions.
The Bible does not teach that man is born with a sinful nature (not in Romans 5, not in Ephesians 2, not in any psalms, not anywhere). This illogical idea (that babies are sinners) can be traced back to Augustine and even all the way back to the Gnostics.
We weren’t born with a sinful nature. From what I understand weren’t born with that special sanctifying grace from the Holy Spirit to protect and help us. That’s what Baptism gives us and why it’s important to baptize a baby as soon as possible so let’s face it in stern language the devil doesn’t get his claws in. God Bless the little ones!

Is the Tree of Life a symbol and 'Type' of Jesus? Jesus in the NT refers to Himself as the Vine, the Life, eat of Me shall live forever and in the Garden of Gethsemane He is crushed and sweats Blood ie Eucharistic Wine which is life-giving not to mention the Wood of the Cross being the Tree of Life ...or is the tree of life in the garden of Eden a real tree so to speak? A Spiritual Tree? So Adam and Eve could not partake in sin

The orthodox agree with send that brought death, and as to say a nature towards sin as temptation. Where the agreement stops is the Augustinian view of inherited guilt. I would enjoy a clear Catholic teaching about this distinction. This version of original sin seems to require the later interpretations of immaculate, conception. Where the orthodox church would disagree, and say that Jesus in his human nature took on her all aspects so that by his death can therefore reclaim all aspects of human nature for those who believe in him. this distinction also follows the Augustinian view of necessity of infant baptism. The orthodox disagree, and say that only the same nature and death are inherited so that the child born has no scent of a tone which is in line with the old testament teaching, that the sins of the father, or not past the sun.

Can't speak for Orthodox. Original sin in Catholicism may be taken to mean: (I) the sin that Adam committed; and (2) a consequence of this first sin, the hereditary stain with which we are born on account of our origin or descent from Adam. For more read link below.

Adam and Eve would have been assumed into heaven, like the Virgin Mary, had they not sinned. They and their progeny wouldn't have remained in Eden forever, had they passed their test of obedience. Having failed it, they were blocked from the 'Tree of Life' by the angel after their expulsion from the garden. The tree was to maintain their preternatural gift of physical immortality, like the Eucharist does today for our souls.
@Janette Davis "Where" heaven is cannot be answered because it co-exists with the universe, not a part of it. As the Apostles Creed proclaims "I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven AND earth. Yes, Adam and Eve's bodies would have ascended into heaven, there would have been nothing to have prevented that. So would their progeny, whichever ones hadn't sinned.

if god created adam and eve as perfect people, they would have not disobeyed and if they created as imperfect people they still made the decision to disobey but being imperfect people they would have done something wrong at some point because that's what imperfect people do. you cannot say here is an imperfect person who never did anything wrong in the entire life that absurd so if it wasn't the disobedience in the garden of Eden it would have been something else at some other time now why did God get so angry so god made them imperfect which means he shares in the responsibility god shares in the responsibility what Adam and eve did. he did not warn them by the way kids if you happen to meet a talking serpent don't listen to him because he is evil and will try to mislead you god never said anything like that. so adam a has no experience what so ever in good and evil in obeying disobeying and making moral choices so they made a mistake and incidentally. so why did go get into such divine fury at this one mistake which was likely to be done at some point because they did not have any prior experience to guide them?
For the wages of sin is DEATH....folks MOST people alive today don't believe this truth, and act accordingly according to the desires of the flesh....

Everlasting life is not immortality.
They died bc they commited sin and death is a wage of sins. God gave us free will unfortunately, Adam and Eve chose their own will that's why they died.

What you say is quite true. That is why Jesus was sent. To pay off the penalty imposed on Adam and thus FREE all Adam's children (namely us included) from the curse of inherited imperfection leading to DEATH.

Death was not an option for humans in God' purpose. Everlasting life on earth was.

Adam's sin is the original sin which we are paying for now. But will be released from it under God's government rule.

Adam and Eve were carnal, sinful beings before anyone had a bite of any fruit. Perfection cannot by definition become imperfect, free will or not. (btw, free will is nowhere to be found in the bible, it's a myth, an illusion). As a matter of fact, Eve sinned BEFORE she ate of fruit, revealing her sinful nature.

My dearly beloved daughter, prophecies are not revealed to man, by God, to create sensation. They are given to prepare humanity for their future in My Kingdom, so that they can be forewarned of potential dangers to their souls. Every Intervention by the Command of My Father, in your lives, is for your own good and that of other souls.
My Prophecies, given to you, My daughter, have well and truly commenced. The imposters have taken control, from within, and they will continue to fool the world into believing that a new doctrine - one where changes to the existing Holy Doctrine, laid down by God, have been made - can be amended, to suit the lives of all men and all religions. *Beware* *of* *the* *word* *“ecumenical”* *or* *any* *attempt* *to* *take* *My* *Church* *on* *Earth* *and* *strip* *it* *of* *its* *Divinity.*
He who tampers with the Liturgy is not an authentic servant of Mine and yet, that is exactly what will happen. And what will My sacred servants do? When morals are no longer deemed to be important, then sin will become rampant. Sin will spread, escalate, until society will break down and for those who will remain true to My Church - the True Church - it will be a sight of horror to witness.
People will boast of sin, openly flaunt their lack of morality and the new world religion will dictate that sin will never block you or damage you, in the Eyes of God. The god they will refer to is Satan, but they will never tell you this. To mock Me, they will present you with the Antichrist, who will be enthusiastically received, because he will be applauded by the False Prophet and idolized by him. The Antichrist will do everything that contradicts My Teachings, but he will do it with charisma and charm. Millions will adore him. He will be all that I Am not. He will fool so many, that it will be easy for him to lead God’s children into heresy and terrible desolation.
I Am preparing you all for this day. It is very difficult for many of you to hear this news, but it is the Truth. The Truth will free your souls from death. Fight the Truth and nothing good will come from this - only despair. Prevent others from remaining loyal to My Church, by encouraging them to follow the heresy, which is about to be inflicted upon the world by My Church, from within, and you will be thrown to the lions. Those who destroy the souls of others, by force, face the greatest punishment by My Hand.
Accept the Truth and prepare yourselves. Follow Me and I will lead you safely to My Kingdom. Follow the beast and he will lead you and those you bring with you into the fires of Hell for eternity.

And by what authority do you speak of these things? Many many who proclaim their words are the truth of the end have come and gone and their prophecy with them. And at least these words appear to be conveniently aligned to certain divisions already within the Church. Given that the ordinary motion of God is to bind wounds and heal divisions especially among His Mystical Body and how strongly Christ yearns for souls to be reconciled to Him is evident in the writings of the Mystics and Saints, and the deep woundedness of the Church, why should one regard a prophecy that furthers this division among the faithful? Has this been shown to anyone in authority in Holy Mother Church. If it is of God it will succeed in the end, if it is not, it shall not but may drag souls down with it. Even the Sanhedrin finally understood that and ceased their trial of the Apostles and many converted to them. And ecumanism has been ongoing for several decades now, why did this prophecy not come befor but after that which, it warns against?
I am skeptical for the sake of the souls who may believe in this and for the souls of those who proclaim it, as a prophecy of this magnitude must be shown its goodness before it bears fruit, for if it is bad fruit, it will kill all who partake of it. The spirit it is of I have seen to be elsewhere breeding contempt among Christians and pride in the hearts of many who have been following it. Given the volume of propheciea that people are proclaiming here and there, and citing all above and especially if it is supposed to be proclaimed in Sacred Scripture, why should one regard this one as true?
