No man, i am also same like you. I spent only $22 ($20 ticket & $2 online fee). I also shared that with another family (2 families in one car). That’s why i was surprised. Usually they start this one around thanksgiving time and they have discount for weekdays plus online purchase. May be you can plan something for next year. By the way thanks sharing your thoughts. I never travel west on 66 past fair oaks at night so I never got a chance to see the Christmas lights up until a few nights ago I was like holy cow whadda we got goin on here boys i gots to make up there with the gang asaperoni

May be you can try to go to the fair entering from the end point of the show, because the road is two way. But i am not 100% sure. May be before planning, plz check on google maps about the road.
