Refs don’t care about o line and d line holds. Only reason Trent got called on it was because he’d just had the false start. That’s how Jawaan Taylor and Trey smith’s holds usually got called too. Don’t give the refs a reason to look at you and they won’t call it. They know every o line holds. Some are just better at hiding it. Seems stupid to reward people for having better holding techniques

JJ Watt had an interesting suggestion recently … make holding 5 yards instead of 10. He said that refs know that a 10 yard penalty can affect a game a lot, which is why he thinks they let a fair number of those calls go. If it were 5 yards, and not AS harsh a penalty, they’d call it more correctly/often. Makes sense, and I’d like to see the league to look into it.

Yes, we lose it to luck, lets be honest now. We should never be in OT in first place but that blocked EP, Greenlaw's injury and the worst, that punt-fumble gave KC the key to stay in the game, a game that they know it was lost cus they were manhandled as Tampa did in 2020 until then.

49ers can beat the 49ers and these matter enoigh to change the posible outcome....just like the bs kittle opi which was clear arm fighting and then checking the cbs position while the ball was in the air......kittle had ot slow down a lil that causd it which didnt affect what the plays outcome woulkd have been as the defender wwas a full arm length there was not enough evidence as the shoulder. the dbs hand pushed kittles hand off causing kittle to fight it off and get it to the bal. that was the weakest opi in super bowl history....only way thats called is by bias.
they were arm battling the whole time, kittle was checking for the ball and the db movced his head up and caused him to slow down which then naturally when kittle was taking his hand off the reciever once the ball was there and he slowed down to look for the ball which arm fighting and due to slowing from the head turn meaning the db shoulder and he then straighten his shoulder sideways and then dcid the turn again that he was doing before the "opi" which hapopened 2 prior times. kittle had to take his hand out and made it look like a push.
either way there is another thing he was not in position as kittle had his arm for body checking which was a full arm length and there is the last rule if the db even without he was not in position to be able to make a play at the ball it was full arm legenths in front of kittle. the rule book states if you werent 100% it wasnt intentional than its a no cal. there amount of ifs and buts about this leads to this exact should be a no call. there is no sure thing he did it to get the ball....its reasonable he was using stiff arm strength to battle any hand check ....u can watch in slow speed and that in certain situaitons makes it look worse than it is.

That second one on Bosa is a clear tackle. Niners had opportunities to win, but failed, but that's why it's so important that the refs actually call penalties. You say they let it go on both sides, yet you never show that? Mahomes doesn't pickup that 1st down if Hargrave isn't also tackled. They're all game changing 3rd downs. It's certainly not up to you to say what would have happened if they weren't holding. Slightly skewed to Chiefs? C'mon dude. Yes the final drive looked terrible, but they shouldn't even have gotten that far and don't forget these players are human beings and despite how in shape they are, you get tired, especially on D, especially when you're in OT, especially when you lose a start LB in Greenlaw early in the game. It's all additive. That's why all of those plus several you didn't even mention, blatant, egregious tackles by the Chiefs blockers cannot be let go. Let them play does not mean let them cheat. In a span of four minutes during the Niners second drive, the refs flagged All Pro left tackle Trent Williams with two costly penalties that slowed down the offense. The 49ers already got off to a rough start after McCaffrey’s fumbled in their opening drive, and now they have to deal with a false start penalty and a holding call against Williams. It's a flat-out lie when Chiefs fans say the 49ers offensive line wasn't penalized. In start contrast, the Chiefs O-line wasn't penalized for a single holding call during their last three Super Bowls.

Three Super Bowls for the Chiefs and NOT ONE SINGLE offensive line holding call against the Chiefs in any of the three games. A Chiefs offensive line with two tackles that lead the league in penalties. Yet they call a holding penalty on Williams, arguably the best tackle in the league. Easy to see why people think it is rigged. Go back and take a look at the last super bowl and that 3rd and 15 play. The Chiefs tackle has his arm around Bosa's neck holding him from drilling Mahomes and the ref is looking right at it. NO flag.

As a Niners fan I've seen so many bad calls all season for and against my team. While certainly the Chiefs get away with a large number of calls I feel we beat ourselves. We put that opening drive into the endzone instead of fumbling, we win the game. We make that field goal we most likely win. We don't lose Greenlaw we win. For those who don't know Greenlaw he IS that kind of a difference maker. We played well enough to win by 10 pts. Our defense played well enough. But mental mistakes like the muffed punt cost us the game more than the refs. The Chiefs didn't necessarily win the game as much as the Niners gave them the game.

I really like your breakdowns of games. Better than the big analysts on the big shows who mostly spill opinions and don't back it up. You are spot on with the holding. Niners defense line dominated the Chiefs in the game and for some strange reason couldn't get to Mahomes in the second half. You pointed out some of the major holds and there were others. I remember one play where a Chief was bear hugging a player, but on the opposite side from the play. That's the way it works in the playoffs and especially the Super Bowl, holding is allowed unless it is blatant and directly affects the play. Example is Trent Williams holding early in the game.
Decades ago, there was a refrain "Don't let the refs decide the game." And while you don't want the refs to decide the game with too many penalties, you don't want them deciding the game with non-calls either. The NFL got what it wanted - an exciting game and a chief victory. Do I think the refs tried to ensure a Chiefs victory, no. But veteran coaches and players know that they can get away with more holding in the playoffs.
P.S. jazz up your background, get a more professional look.

The bigger factors were the punt fumble, going way from the run in the 3rd, and electing to receive in OT … losing Greenlaw sure didn’t help either (Kelce was a non-factor until Greenlaw went down).

When you mentioned "Conspiracy Theory" I thought you were referring to a Rigged Game?
Let me first state, I'm a life long 49er fan. As a kid I watched the magical connection between Montana and Rice, and also Steve Young. When I heard we were going to have a rematch with KC in the Super Bowl I was worried knowing how clever Mahomes and KC are! They have a pattern of always coming back no matter how much of a deficit they are in, which is scary!! Mahomes is like a horror movie villain like Jason or Freddy Krueger - no matter how many times you kill him, he keeps coming back to Life!!...LOL. I actually like KC too - they are fun to watch. Mahomes is a living legend by now and KC has many talented players.
It's not the loss that bothers me so much, it's all the missed opportunities we had. And I agree it does come down to coaching. However, it has crossed my mind that it could've been fixed. Firstly, it took place in Vegas!
Next, what happens to all the KC endorsements (contracts) if SF won? There is a lot of money at stake when a team wins the Super Bowl. It's just a thought...

The 49ers got screwed by the refs throughout the game. The Chiefs held Bosa all game long just like in the last Super Bowl they played together, and amazingly the Chiefs have somehow had zero holding calls against them in two Super Bowls against the 49ers. The Chiefs offensive tackles lead the league in penalty calls this year, but not one call against the in the Super Bowl. The film does not lie.

The bad spots in the end of the game were clearly trying to help the Niners. And to say there was a chance for a strip sack is hilarious. As if Mahomes was letting go of that

Did you watch the play? He was pulled down right before Mahomes was letting go of the ball.

It’s just dumb that the Chiefs getting called for holding all year and then don’t in the biggest game of the year. It’s just stupid inconsistent. Don’t call holding during the regular season then.

You're right bro refs were more on Chiefs side they don't want to lose a bet😮

49ers fan and TJ is such a beast, but unfortunately all great pass rushers get held and stupid refs don't call. There shouldn't even a holding so the defenders just manhandle the oline men.

    • @Zarab923
      @Zarab923 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

That’s how every d line feels. Chris jones literally developed a technique with his hands to block holds. Other guys should try it so they can stop being cry babies. Nobody cares if a massive guy has his Jersey tugged on..

Yes the coach fucked them calling pass play on third and four instead of run then run again on fourth but he kicked fg instead of going for td with mahomes waiting to get td i knew it was over when kick fg mahomes would do what he does and get td

0:26 #68 for the 49ers holds on to #56 for the chiefs

Chiefs 55 yards in pen. SF 40 yards. Baha. The Niners were holding the entire game besides the refs made two major blunders on spotting the ball that would’ve been the first downs in critical situations for the Chiefs

The PI was a bang bang play. All these people are dropping freeze frames and super slo motion replays then attacking the NFL refs for the smallest mistakes. The opening PI discussed in the video. I’m sorry. Deebo got two hands on it. Maybe there was a slight tug. But catch the ball. That’s on Deebo. The holding. Fine. You can argue that but BOTH teams knew this ref crew had the LEAST amount of holding penalties called all season long. Stop blaming refs and the NFL when you lose. Blame your team and your coaches. Shannahan didn’t cut it. Purdy didn’t get the job done. The defense faltered when it mattered most despite a great game by them. That’s on the 49ers.

You just contradicted yourself by saying it wasn’t a pi then saying it was but he should have caught it and the ref crew threw the least amount of holding flags all season but called 2 on the 49ers and called 0 on the chiefs and 3 of which were 💯 holds

But your right the 49ers and the refs sold the game in crucial moments and right in front of their faces😔👍🏽 gg

All missed calls affect the outcome.

  • @robertarmstrong3024

In every single game there are missed calls and bad calls. In every single game, the losing team can use a couple of those bad or missed calls as an excuse for losing. In close games those "calls" are almost always considered to be the difference. The Chiefs have won, and lost games, as a result of the officiating. Excuses are for losers. Thanks to today's level of officiating, losers of virtually every single game can easily find excuses.

Have to remember when u say the play with warner being held would have been a completion still. How does that even matter when its a penalty and a flag should have been thrown?

    • @PowerHourNFL
      @PowerHourNFL  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Oh it doesn't. The play shouldn't count.
It does show how good the play-call was, that even unblocked A-Gap pressure would not have stopped it.
MESH is the best man coverage play IMO

Most of the time in the SB, tphey let them play and dont call a bunch of frivolous junk. Seriously, if you called every hold, every llittle rule broken, you wouldnt have much o a game, watch the dirty plays the Ravens pulled when the chiefs beat them at home in playoffs. Still say that wax one of the best super bowls ever. Two really good teams slugging it out, then going into overtime without knowing the rules, all on the 49ers head coach, not the team

I dont think mahomes out played purdy. Mahomes was terrible for most that game his stats may say differently but he couldve walked out of this game with 3 picks. He was flustered and all over the place til we started playing soft coverage and giving him easy options.
