    Nice to see that Nissan is using a conventional automatic instead of a CVT.

      They still use CVTs in the rest of their FWD based cars.

      Nissan is still using the crappy CVT in most of their vehicles.

      It's a real SUV. No one is gonna buy it if it's equipped with CVT.

      Yeah and all the 9ATs have had recalls to date...

      That’s no guarantee that reliability has improved. When Renault came into the picture even the “conventional” automatics were failing in the 5-speed Maximas ( bad valve body) and the Frontier and Xterra ( both had engine coolant leaks leaking into the transmission). The problem with Nissan since Renault is RELIABILITY.

    Bizzare to hear a positive review of a modern Nissan product, now I’m curious about those other big bottle passers

      Nissan is trying to turn things around. The 1-2 punch of Carlos Ghosn's cost-cutting poor quality and approving virtually anyone who walked in even if they couldn't afford it nearly killed the company's reputation.

    One thing you should do. On these new vehicles. Is give list price.

    • @ShootingCars
      @ShootingCars  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I give the MSRP at the beginning when I can, because it's the only price that will be the same across the country. I don't put what the car is listed at because it changes so wildly. Like for the GR Corolla, there is a dealer that has one listed for $80k. If I put that in the video, people would get the wrong idea, so I just do MSRP and leave it up to the reviewer to decide if their local dealer is giving them a good deal or if they're out of their minds.

    I saw this one in Rockford Nissan dealer. It’s a decent car, with decent space and decent technology. It’s better than current Armada. If this undercuts price of highlander it will sell.

    I think Frontiers, Pathfinders and Armadas are relatively solid Nissans these days.

    I have a 2023 in gun metal grey and absolutely love it! Sport mode is fun and aggressive, but does everything I need it to do in a vehicle. I’ve owned many Nissans and have been very reliable for me and my family. I’m happy with my purchase.

    Seems like a nice vehicle. I wish manufactures would add support for cameras that can record as you drive. Seems like it wouldn't be difficult or expensive.

    • @bwofficial1776
      @bwofficial1776 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many cars have one or two or even three cameras above the windshield to run the lane-keep assist and auto high-beams. How hard would it be to put an SD card slot or USB plug in the glove box to record as a dashcam? Teslas and some GM performance products seem to be the only vehicles making use of their cameras.

    I got one in around march 2023, Red one, Same SL AWD. Great SUV with largest 3rd raw space, even fits for mid size adults. did over 3400 miles trip from NY to FL (Orlando, Tampa, Key west, back to KSC and back NY) with 3 adults and 3 kids. Trip was great and safe. Good performance. Drive mostly midnight to avoid traffic, avg 29.8 miles per gallon on regular 87 octain. I wasn't a NISSAN fan, but had no option since this was the only SUV with better space 3rd raw, got a lease. If you looking for 3rd raw space, thsi is the one, I had Mazda CX-9, its a great car, but 3rd raw is very narrow. we had so much baggage on the trip, and baby stroller, But this Nissan Pathfinder had a room for all that. Great Car, Great options such as front collition warning and etc., I felt extremly safe this trip with my 3 kids. We did avg speed mostly over 80-85 miles, but car was handling everything so quiatly and safly.

    The poverty spec version of the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is $35,200...The 2022 Ford Explorer starts at $37,005; the 2023 Hyundai Palisade at $36,245; the 2022 Kia Telluride at $34,725; the 2022 Subaru Ascent at $33,970; and the 2022 Toyota Highlander at $37,190. Assuming that the upper trim levels have comparable increases in price, why not stretch to get the Highlander or pocket some money and go for the Telluride? I'm glad they went with the traditional transmission instead of the CVT.

    • @stevev1008
      @stevev1008 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The problem is demand and inventory for suv's like the Telluride. You won't find many without a mark up.

    • @CRVgarage
      @CRVgarage ปีที่แล้ว

      Because Highlander is smaller than Pathfinder & its also more reliable than Telluride.

    There is a fully digital gauge cluster offered. But it’s relatively tiny. The analog/digital mix that you reviewed looks better.

    If you put me in this car without telling me it was a Nissan I'd be able to guess. It's not terrible but it's not the fanciest. It's fine. I like how this looks more than the last one, which was basically a minivan with regular doors. My dad had an R51 Pathfinder which was the last of the trucky Pathfinders so I very much dislike the minivan Pathfinders. The three slots at the top of the grille is a callback to the original Pathfinder. Nissan is trying to turn things around after Carlos Ghosn nearly destroyed the company.

    For the last couple years, say 2018 and forward, I’ve thought Nissan’s styling has gotten better. The Pathfinder prove this. However, I still fear the reliability. Sure, this Pathfinder is using a slush box and an engine as old as time itself, but it’s an anomaly in the Nissan range. I still fear Nissans CVTs which, let’s be honest, are in the majority of their sales. Just recently someone I know was burned by their 2015 Rogue’s transmission. I still don’t think Nissan is ready, especially with this new 1.5T 3 cylinder in the Rogue. Only time will tell.

      @Brian Lee As someone whose family has two Subarus (one manual and one CVT), I go around to everyone I meet chatting them up on Subaru (Just got one of my teachers to make a deposit on a 2024 Impreza). As a stone cold Nissan hater, I would never advise against Honda, Toyota, or Subaru purely based on transmissions. I love all those three! Honda a little less with the recent turbo head gasket problems, but I have no problem recommending a N/A Honda. If I ever recommend a Nissan, I’ve probably gone senile; stick me in a home and lock me up at that point.

    Just bought this same vehicle! I find your assessment of this vehicle to be similar to mine. Love the tech and I love the lines on this SUV! Unlike you, Zack, I love the white! Quiet ride, easy road handling, comfortable seating = love the car!

    Nissan is finally going back to it's roots with the Pathfinder, the last generation could have been called the Rouge XL lol, definitely did not deserve the Pathfinder name.

    Picked up the 2023 Rock Creek edition in July. Unfortunately, I got slammed into in November, and the car was totaled. I liked it enough to replace it with a 2024 Rock Creek. I love it.

    Kinda wishing I didn’t buy my Platinum. Fuel pump, seat memory module, front camera system all replaced. Now, door handles sensor acting up in wet weather. I’m going to check out the’25 MDX if they change up the push button gear selector.

    Those analog gauges look MUCH better than the full digital screen in the Platinum.

    I found it funny that this was a Nissan with Toyota dealership plate on it. I looked at one of these at a Nissan dealership. It is too fancy for me with too many bells and whistles when only I need a mechanically sound car that will be a work horse. I find it hard to consider these stylish vehicles for lugging groceries, lumber and chicken feed to the homestead. At $44 k, I am glad my X terra is still functional with all of the blips that an older car goes thru.

    Could use more insight on the driving dynamics & throttle response on a test drive - also you didn't breakdown real world MPG ratings for city vs. highway.
