    Great Info, but I cannot find a seller with the name OEM car audio on eBay

      I just looked back at my eBay history. It said sold by oemcaraudio
      When I clicked on that name, it pulled up the seller page. On that page, it said OriginalCarAudio1
      They have 90k transactions. Try searching that other name. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Glad you've been able to hold onto the stock radio all this time and only have LED lighting fail, those Panasonic built EX units with the black display really lasted forever, typically the audio doesn't fail on it like the base trim single CD Alpine built unit which will fail at some point.

      My original block problems were the flickering LCD screen and loss of backlighting. This one was just the backlighting. Otherwise the radio still works fine.

      Glad this will help you. It's a really easy and affordable fix. I'm a guy who used to replace the radio with an aftermarket radio in all of my cars. Cars like this have other functions like HVAC and steering wheel controls and it makes it difficult to find a good unit that will work and not lose function over the stock radio.
      I have SiriusXM, aftermarket speakers, and a powered sub. I have no complaints with this stock head unit. I don't care about Bluetooth or maps.
      1,039,100 today
      I plan to do another update video at 1,050,000.
      Thanks for following along and commenting!

    Thanks for this video. A few days ago, the vent selector buttons failed in my 2003 Honda Accord. First, it spontaneously changed to the 'windshield mode', and after tens of attempts (including removing the battery terminal for a while), I was able to change to the 'feet mode', however the airflow pattern has remained directed towards the windshield even as I type.
    I did a bit of research and suspect that the circuit board of the HVAC controls has gone bad. I'm considering removing the circuit board for an inspection and resoldering. Any ideas on how to locate and remove the circuit board for this specific model will be most appreciated. Cheers!

    I think I’ve commented before that the radio block on my 2003 EX V6 coupe died, but fortunately I was still within the warranty period. Looks like a pretty straightforward replacement. Any issues with the plastic trim pieces breaking after 21+ years of use?

      It was pretty easy. No issues with the trim pieces. There's a big hook looking Honda tool to get that upper dash cover loose, but the interior trim tool works fine.

    what if the radio randomly turns off like stops working for like 5 minutes?

    • @txaccord
      @txaccord  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not sure. My radio never did that. Mine had display problems on the screen, but it never stopped working completely.
      You could reach out to one of the block refurbishing eBayers to see what they say.
      If you do try to completely replace your radio with another OEM unit, find one with the same 4 character alphanumeric code on the front of it so your car will recognize it properly.

      @@txaccord it works for like 2 min stops for like 5 then will randomly turn on again

      @@txaccord what would the code be?

    • @txaccord
      @txaccord  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sarabyrd3374 look at the lower right side of the screen. My code is 7FY0. There are only so many codes that Honda put on these radios.
      Note that this code is different than the 5 number security code you have to enter to get the radio to work after you disconnect the battery. Those are two separate codes.
      If you order a different block for your radio, they will ask you what your radio code is 7FY0 in my case.
      When you get a new block sent to you, they will give you the 5 digit code to enter to make that block work. I'm not sure if a block will fix your problem but someone who refurbishes the block should know.

      @sarabyrd3374 There is something else that sounds crazy but check this out.
      There was apparently some soldering on the circuit boards of those radios that wasn't done properly. Some people have actually fixed their radios by removing them from the car and then putting the radio in the oven and heating it. I think I saw people say 350 degrees for 10-15 mins. That may solve the problem.
