Hi there. Norfolk Terriers need to be hand stripped. For some before and after pics, see www.norfolkterriertales.com/haircut/ Hand stripping needs to be done about 4 times per year once the coat is under control. Might take more sessions to get on the right track. Not all groomers do hand stripping, and it can be expensive, because it is a slow process. When a Norfolk is hand stripped, dead loose hairs are removed to make way for new hairs. Do some web searches in your area to see who does hand stripping. Be prepared to do some digging. At least that's how I take care of my coat, and I am a good looking dog. -Ernie
The breed standard for Norfolks calls for a docked tail, which normally happens very early. So yes, it was probably done by the breeder or vet in the 1st week.
2 Norfolk and 1 fisty Norwich. They are two different breeds. DNA thing. I've always heard Norwich were the calmer ones. Hmmmm? I guess I'll just go with the one I think is cutest... oh wait...
As I was checking up on the comments, I thought "2 stupid comments making the same wrong point" and then I realized both comments were made by you, so everything is back to making sense. I am a Norfolk, not a Norwich. Just because I have prick ears, I am a Norfolk through and through. Some Norfolks like me develop strong cartilage around the ears, and that causes the ears to stand up. I did not have prick ears as a puppy; they just developed that way over time. All of my family is Norfolk, and my brother didn't get the tough cartilage I got, so he does not have prick ears. (I copied that bit from my other reply because I have a lazy streak and have to get back to my bed.) Darlin, ask yourself this: who would know better whether I am a Norfolk - me, the incredible Ernie, or you who has never met me? It's always best to let well-researched facts grow your confidence. You started with no facts but a lot of confidence, which never ends well. If Jaxon and I see you on the trails, Tami, just remember that Norfolks are feisty. -Ernie
You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Terriers have fur around their eyes to protect them from bright sunlight and to keep dirt/dust from their eyes. Also, they can see perfectly fine with the hair. For these reasons, professional groomers will never trim the hair around their eyes.
R DS for god sake please stop spamming and your super dumb for doing that its not a problem for them to have fur around their eyes and their meant to be like that if you dont know true facts then dont say them and its their dogs and their choice so stop spamming
Your website is absolutely incredible and a wealth of information, will definitely be sharing pictures and videos of my boy with you all 🙏

can you trim the hair around their eyes😢
My god you're annoying.
the dogs would be much more comfortable if you trim the fur around their eyes. Please put yourself in that position and see if you like it
