Gradius Universe Ver 1.07 Alternative-R.Option Random Difficulty Loop 99

Not a 1cc run unfortunately. Big-Core MKIII caught me off guard during the boss rush. I really enjoy the random difficulty setting, in 1.06 it was skewed towards higher difficulty and in 1.07 it was fixed. The alternative R.Options are enabled by pressing the shoulder buttons on controller while highlighting R.Options.

Big core 1st (Gradius I) is the most beautiful enemy, but Big core Mk-III is ugly.

You're probably fighting it from the rear, judging by the way it flies in when you fight it in Gradius V.
