- I took the time to edit every Ardyn Scene, Cutscene and Dialogue Option from the Game into one Video, you´re welcome. Needless to say, I really love Ardyn, he´s a unique and wonderful character with a backstory that kicks my feels in the face.
Making this Video was a lot of fun! I hope you enjoy it! :3

I think my favorite part about Ardyn is that before he makes his calculated debut as the group's primary enemy, he decides to annoy them as much as possible. He never hides or makes an honest effort to pretend he's an ally, because his main goal in the end is to take out his grudge on Noctis by pissing him off in any way he can, whether that be by killing his girlfriend or making him uncomfortable through his flamboyancy.
He is not flamboyant, he is theatrical. There is a difference.

Hands down one of the best Final Fantasy villians.
Ever. I actually find him one of my favorite villains in ANYTHING (not my favorite, but definitely up there). An immortal villain who has a THOROUGHLY JUSTIFIED reason for you not killing him (unlike the "heads I win tails you lose" Caius Ballard fights), and is so charming AND so disturbing. Not to mention how his voice subtly turns outright DAEMONIC as the game goes on, to the point that you realize just how INHUMAN he is.
hes actually my favourite villian in anything ever. seriously hes awesome. AND LOOK AT HIS COAT. i frickin love his coat.

He never actually wanted Demond’s to rule the earth that was ifrit. All he wanted was revenge and he got it. He killed noctis and all his ethereal ancestors in the crystal. Which they kinda deserved after turning him into the monster that he is
His plan was literally flawless.
If he did defeat Noct at the end, he showed the crystal it was wrong in rejecting him and the world is fucked.
If Noct defeated him, the crystal would still end, he would be freed from his immortality and the royal blood would come to an end regardless.

This annoyed me years ago and still does! Who thought that was a good idea?
That were some of the most interesting lines in the game and they had to fuck up the audio, by letting the music and Noctis constants grunts be louder than Ardyns fucking explanation!
I thought my game was bugged when it happened to me but this just proves the game was unfinished and incomplete when they didn’t even check to see if the one of the most important cutscenes in the game was audible or not :/

I think people get bitter about flash appeal but noctis sacrificing his life was the best way to go. People have everything for the king so he will pay the blood price and sacrifice for his people. That is a realistic happy ending lol

Funny, because he’s got that one wing added to his outfit which is seen in some scenes.
I mean his Royal Arms mode is his One Winged form equivalent.

I would also just put FFII's Emperor Mateus above Sephiroth due to conquering Heaven and Hell beyond death.

These lines are so powerful, and so important for Ardyn's character. It's a shame that the player is really only able to understand the gravity of them if they play the Ardyn DLC, though. In the main game, you really don't get a good look at Ardyn's true suffering or his motivations. Stuff like this almost makes me glad I didn't get invested in this franchise until recently. There's so much more to unpack now, for each of the characters, than there was four years ago when the game first came out.
I really hope they go back to giving the whole story in a single game instead of making is piece it together with dlc

When you love the *villain* more than the main character cast, you know it's wonderfully written. What an amazing character! Truly the best part of the story.

He figured it out from seeing them interact with each other. He knew Ignis was the "older brother" type, so surmised that he did the driving. That, and he followed them a bit before meeting them.

Out of all his lines and scenes, my favorite line he spoke is, "So that is how you would end it."

I just realized that from 15:09 to 17:22, that was Prompto. I didn’t understand what was going on when I first played the game.
If you listen to Prompto's dialogue during the segment to protect the train. It sounds off, it all finally clicked when Arydn revealed he swapped appearances with him.
I swear Ardyn makes the BEST entrances. 😎❤

I LOVE Ardyn as a villain! He's like the bastard love-child of Sephiroth's cruelty and Kuja's ego-mania, and mentored by the insanity of Seymour Guado. More over: I love that he's SO hatable! Killing this bloke was SO satisfying!!

That was prompto, Ardyn make all of this as a trick.
During the train scene the moment Ardyn spoke that first sentence I knew it was Prompto. He's the only character who speaks like that.

The best character from FFXV and one of the best villains in franchise.
One of my favorite characters ever. The first king. He really wasn’t a villain. He was a guy in pain for a very long time. Let a soul be tortured enough and it becomes a demon.
Gotta love Ardyn...his theme music reminds me of a boy standing in front of a plate glass window with a sweet innocent smile and a very large rock...great to have these all together!

They should have added scenes where you can drive Ardyn´s car or ride with him in his car, a chance to listen to their conversations and earn extra points.

Lord Captain This isn't a lot of information, but it basically says that they won't make DLC for him. Instead, they would make an entire game for him because there's so much backstory! At the very least, they want to continue doing something with Ardyn. (As they hopefully should! He's the best! In my opinion.)
I just feel sorry for him. I empathize with him out of all ff character I feel closest to Ardyn. Cast away by my family. A healer demonized. But unlike ardyn the leader of my family still knows who I am. That would have made his character even stronger if you ask me, one royal who knew the truth and was sorry for him.
Well, if it gives you any comfort, Noct did. When he was in the crystal, he learned about Noctis. You can even hear him empathize with Ardyn when looking at the paintings inside the castle.

There is a reason he has that over the top outfit. Sunlight hurts his skin because of his daemonic powers, so he was given the outfit to cover himself up as much as possible and protect himself.

You'd be as vile as him if you got betray by God's, family and his own people all while you take in all the daemon to save the world which mind you, constantly trying to take over Ardyn and he have to resist them like every single day and spend eternity suffer til he he's freed by Noctis and that is when he plan and manipulate whole thing to happen.

Ardyn never actually had free will like that, and he knew that for a fact, so he wasn’t even in there.. remember in that Ardyn DLC where Ardyn talks to Bahamut? Yeah he never actually “got out” of that Void he was in.. so when noctis kills Ardyn at the end.. god that’s tragic..

I feel like there should be a Final Fantasy game all about Ardyn, maybe the essence of what made ardyn a great character, banished from grace. Maybe monolith soft can reuse the actor and just make their own character.

Ardyn is one of the few FF villains who managed to fulfill their endgame goals.

I compliment and express thanks for sharing, rewatching the game again currently and seeing these scenes is interesting. I think the new additional scenes from Episode Ardyn and the Royal Edition displays more of Ardyn's once compassionate and kind mindset, to nefarious and sadistic comportment. 3:13 and 10:18 should have been the warning to the group to not trust the character, so I am curious why would Gladiolus and Ignis comply when there was suspicion surrounding Ardyn. (At 16:00 I also question how did the starscourge grant Ardyn the abilities to manipulate the mind as he did to Noctis, his friends and Ravus.)
He can even control reality and space itself, he is strong enough to kill a god just as he did with sheva
