Would there be a way to do your increases a few stitches from the start of row so you don't need to relocate the beginning of round after the toe is formed?
Just my opinion but that's a lot of hassle. I think you don't have to even out the sts count beforehand, mark the st then knit up to it and then change the needle with which you knit. Of course there's always more than one way and certainly this is more secure, just also more work.
