Hell yes. I agree. Sorry not a racist. But there is something about an old school black guy that can rock a guitar and hit that blues sounding shit. Hits me to the core
Being from southern Mississippi, a musician, and also living just a few miles from where their plane went down. I know the people that owned that land back then. Well I've heard countless covers , but this one is among the best.
I am one of the most devoted Fans of Lynyrd Skynyrd Saw them live, two times before the crash .Brother, you have done a world class tribute to them ! God Bless our beloved Southland !
Hahaha! what a celebration of talent! In its genuine origin this song played tribute to a man just such as yourself, you now have the recognition, and the choice, of a career bathed in spotlight spreading your own to the masses, or more neighborhood crowds and quietly enjoy this gift. Either one is right!
Bang up job bro. How in the world do you only have 800 subs? Well, when you have over a million, I can say I was there when you only had 828 subs. Great job.
Wen i first saw the picture of the vidéo Whit the cowboy hat i Told myself another Guy thats gona try... you havent try bud you just rock the fuck out of that song !!!! 💪💪🤘🤘
"Beautifuly sung" great playing and voice just cruizeing threw it. Big fan of Skynyrds song. You should be proud. Youve got a talent there. Keep shareing.
I wasn't expecting it to be tht good vocally considering Ronnie van zant is a very talented singer who sings very much from the heart I'd have to say you done a mighty fine job
Hey everyone! Thanks for all the love on this video! If you enjoyed it here’s a link to my socials and my original music down below! Cheers yall and I hope to see you at a show sometime! linktr.ee/austinmcneillmusic
Mr. McNeil - I do like your stripped down version of this song. Good voice, nice chord progression, perfect location. Looks like you’re on a back deck in a townhouse in Lorton, VA. I used to have a place in Lorton that looked almost exactly like that. More importantly, that’s how I picture Curtis Loew singing and Ronnie Van Zant & Allen Collins trying to memorize Mr. Loew’s chops and slides on that resonator. Mine was Biloxi, MS. His name was Charlie Dickens. He was 67, lived in a little brown trailer that smelled of whiskey and Lucky Strike cigarettes, smart as could be, riddled with emphysema, and definitely contributed to my already deep addiction to the Blues.
Keep playing bro, with a voice, style and energy like yours, man everybody needs to hear you. Sounds really good, thank you for adding some good tunes to my day.
You brought me to that time era from when it was sang by Ronnie and told me a story I couldn't refuse to listen to because it captivated me. That's what true Talent will do, and I thank you so much for that
I have listened to this over ten times now, today… I’m still crying… Thank you for this! I needed this. My brother-in-law lost his dear mother early this morning. I was already feeling heartbroken for him. The beauty of this song has always touched me, but your cover of it tore me up… I love you, brother, keep doing what you’re doing. I subscribed and have watched most of your videos!!
Wow, I don’t know what to say! Thank you so much and sorry for your family’s loss. That’s why I play music and love music. Because it touches everyone in many ways. Thanks for sharing your story and how my version of this song touched you! Much love and god bless!
This is one of those songs where the original will NEVER be topped, but this guy is close.
This isn’t wrong.
