    Hey that's super cool
    For the bigger boys, 3 of those batteries in array would be FAST

    So just swap the battery without the need to do anything? Will the charger still work or must use the drill battery original charge?

    Great solution. Can I recharge the 24v kobalco battery with the original crazy cart recharger? Thank you

    • @thedunbars961
      @thedunbars961 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can not, because the crazy cart electronics controller (ESC) is not programmed to properly charge litium ion batteries. I watched this video and built my cart based on this videos premise but made the following changes: bought a "Battery Adapter for Kobalt 24v max Lithium-ion Battery 12 Gauge Wire Robotics Dock Power Connector" on amazon ($20) which I attached to the base of the crazy cart (drilled 3 holes through the steel, screwed down the referenced battery clip (ensuring enough space to slide battery on and off) and ran the wires into the cover). This way, when the battery is depleted, I can easily access it from outside of the cart and put it into a Kobalt charger. Hope that helps.

    Thank you for the video... how much time works the crazy cart with this new battery?

    • @vuaeco
      @vuaeco  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That depends on how hard you ride it. But I'd say play time is about an hour continuous play.

    Very neat idea and install. A good weight saving as well. Can you tell me - does the cart have the same "punch" with the power tool battery?

    Can you wire up two of those batteries in parallel for longer runtime?

    • @SilverBackStacker
      @SilverBackStacker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I have a dune buggy with three Kobalts in parallel. Technically it'll run three times as long and the reduced speed of discharge for each battery will help with longevity and potentially heat issues.

      Wow! Thanks so much!
      That is a great video too. very helpful.
      I so appreciate you getting back to me about this.
      With your experience with these crazy carts and their battery’s
      is there much difference in the original battery configuration and
      the switching to the “cordless drill” battery’s’?
      Dose the cart run and function basically the same?
      What can I except for a change time / run time?
      Thanks Again,
      Tyler

    What about low voltage protection for the battery

    • @thedunbars961
      @thedunbars961 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The battery (kobalt) has the protection built into it's circuitry (think of using a Drill, the drill doesnt have the electronics to sense the battery capacity, that is all managed inside the battery pack - from my understanding of the batteries description)

    Can the controller handle 36 volts? I'd like to use my Ryobi drill batteries, 18 volts each since my charger died.

    • @Towelie42O
      @Towelie42O 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will run 36 volts but the 24volt motor will eventually burn out, same with the controller, your gonna wanna buy a new upgraded controller and motor but yes it will run just not for long with the stock stuff..
