You're right, every BM song is a different experience. A lot of reactors watch two Babymetal videos and say "Well, I know what to expect now" NO YOU DON'T MF. :D
The 3 rules to reacting to Babymetal: 1. Expect the unexpected. 2. Expect the unexpected. 3. Always watch to the very end or you may miss something 😉 For the ultimate "WTF?" experience, watch one of their earliest songs, "Iine!" (Pronounced "EE-neh" and often mistitled as "Line!"). GJ on the reaction. Life changing you say. It's been said that going to see them in concert is a life altering experience. Babymetal has that effect on folks. If you find yourself feeling happy for no reason. It's because your mind is thinking about Babymetal. They're the happiest place in metal and there's nothing wrong with that. Seems to be a great place. Now remember if you go to see Babymetal and they're coming to the USA in late August. They probably will play this song. So, buy, bring, wear a towel but when this song comes on. You must wave that towel. Audience participation is required at a Babymetal show. Even just sitting in your seat you could feel the urge to get up and move. Burning calories is another Babymetal side effect. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises
Great reaction again. This video was filmed on the second night in Yokohama at the start of their 2019 tour. As the official video it has the studio audio - there is a video on yt with the live audio and it is even better. F Hero is a rapper from Thailand and very well known there, he flew in to Japan specially to perform on those first two nights (I'm not sure if you noticed until late on that he was there in person - were you reading the lyrics?). They performed in Bangkok in Thailand a month or two ago and F Hero made another special guest appearance. 'PA PA YA' is a summer festival song - and it really is about a spicy green papaya fruit salad. F Hero was rapping in Thai to the same rhythm as mixing the ingredients for the salad with a mortar and pestle. They are pretty much saying that, much like the salad, mixing the right spices into life will make that better too.
I was where you're at at the start of the pandemic. If you want a true WTF experience, I HIGHLY recommend Tale of Destinies from the Tokyo Dome show. It's the only time it has been performed live and the tempo changes are mind blowing
The ladies performed this song live with F HERO in Thailand this year and they could not stop smiling. I love the way Su rolls the rrrrrrrrs when she sings “brrrrrrrrring it”. 🖖 ❤
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。In June 2019, F. Hero came all the way to Japan from Thai for the world premiere of this song and he had been very nervous to perform at a huge arena in foreign country. This is an MV of live footage coupled with studio sound. At the actual venue, Su-Metal shouted "Come on F. Hero!" to summon him. And at the end of this song she screamed "Thank you F. Hero!" then the three girls bowed deeply towards him to show their respect. That scene makes me happy. This catchy and danceable metal song has been performed in most of their shows since 2019. I have enjoyed Pa Pa Ya performed live 13 times. When you attend their show, you will come to know it is very hard to keep swinging towel above your head for 4 minutes all along. It is fun. though 😄
Great reaction again! I just noticed the Sabaton photo on your wall: Did you know that they did a collaboration with Sabaton? The song is called „Oh! MAJINAI“. To be honest, it‘s my least favourite of all their songs, but the good thing is, since it‘s BABYMETAL, „least favourite“ still means pretty damn good. And the live presentation of the song is hilarious fun! I wanted to give another recommendation, but at really can’t decide. There‘s the „Trilogy of Light“, three very different songs that are thematically linked, then there‘s „Megitsune“, probably their most „Japanese“ song, or „Headbanger“ or „Road of Resistance“ with their fantastic live presentation… it really doesn‘t matter, they are all good.
Great reaction, thanks! I concur, discovering BABYMETAL is a life changing experience. I noticed it right from the beginning... mostly because after watching "Catch me if you can" I started a hardcore binge watching session that lasted for days. But this is nothing, you fall deeper and deeper eventually. I also discovered them late, almost four years ago and sometimes I hate myself for that. But the good news is that (in my opinion) they are stronger than ever right now. Just one last recommendation: do whatever you can to see them live. They are touring this summer in the US and Canada and later in fall in the UK and Europe.
The three songs you've reacted to so far were performed at the BabyMetal concert I went to last month. The audience is as crazy and insane as the audience in the MV. Thanks for your great reaction.
Since finding Babymetal and connecting with the community, my life has dramatically improved in so many ways. I’ve made friends around the world, traveled around the world to go to shows with them, and of course I now have their incredible music. Life changing indeed.
I'm in the same boat as you are about discovering them late. I would have loved to have seen a live show with MoiMoi (Yui and Moa together). In this video we get Su-metal, Moametal and Kanometal. Kano Fujihira (Kanometal) loves Babymetal so much that she was doing the dance moves in her sleep. This clip (english subbed) is about that. th-cam.com/video/bXYOn2PjG84/w-d-xo.html You will see Kanometal in the Shanti Shanti Shanti and Elevator GIrl music videos as well. Kanometal was not an official member of Babymetal but she does come from same Jpop Idol group (Sakura Gakuin) and talent agency as BM.
nice reaction again! Babymetal is made for this! if i may suggest (maybe a reaction to two versions of one song in a row?) "Babymetal - Headbanger (OFFICIAL)" and the other version of this song is "'Headbanger Night of 15 mix". since you said you like the variety in there songs you'll probably like this a lot :) the song is from their first album and the "Night of 15" version was played at some concerts in japan as an opening i guess. if you search for "Night of 15" there is a 9:xx and a 4:xx long version. the long one is with a classical part (Ave Maria) before the headbanger version. the short one starts imediatly with headbanger. i really would enjoy watching your reaction to that, since i was blown away after watching BM for years now, this mix-version never crossed my way until recently. man was i surprised :)
Do you know that yesterday in Switzerland, Tarja and Marko sang Phantom of the Opera together? There are already several videos on YT. It made the fans very happy. It's the first rock thing they've sung together since she left NW.
I know what you mean did not find out about them until a few ago. Dam I wish I would have known about them few years ago I would have gone ti sed them live for sure
Good reaction :) I'm not mad on their "international" stuff - I like the Japanese feel - but this is a good track (although again this isn't live unfortunately - but there is one and it's very good). So far you've not seen anything I'd recommend as early viewing for BM so imo it can only get better - keep it up!!! 😃 As you probably know by now live is usually recommended - but there's probably still plenty of suggestions for MVs (they've done a few amazing ones that compete with their live stuff). The BEST group ever for live stuff and walking away with a stupid grin on ones face.
Don't beat yourself up too much - I was 52 when I found Nightwish and 53 when I found Babymetal whom I've already seen 3 times here 8n London and a fourth this November coming. I suppose I was just too caught up by the well established metal bands. I was at an Iron Maiden gig last night (which of course was excellent) but when I looked to Japanese bands, I stumbled across Babymetal and Lovebites who have equally blown my mind. It's a different mentality over there and they're not scared to blend styles as you have already found out - and I'm so happy that you've come into this with an open mind - so refreshing! One American reactor recently switched off a Babymetal track - needlessly trashing it - some people eh!!!. Take good care of yourself 😃

So I guess if you enjoyed these two then I am looking forward to when you finally (if ever) watch a great song/performance like Syncopation LIVE or Megitsune LIVE or Karate LIVE. Good luck.
Just my suggestion, try to start the reactions from the original one (original babymetal which is Yui era), that group is beyond amazing, thr songs the performances the appearances is unmatched by anything in this world. Because the new one (since Yui's departure) is tooo serious, they changed the direction to the very wrong way to the point that i don't want to listen to them not just because there is no Yui anymore but because they are tooo serius in almost all aspects even the band i mean the kami is not like eastern kamj band which is always happy and n3ver stop smiling during the performances.
Why sticking to the past when you have a lively, creative and updated version with a more diverse catalogue? They are much better performers now and don't need the WTF-factor of teens, who are "good for their age", "playing" metal in front of a hired prominent band anymore. Not happy? They smile more than ever at their latest concerts, MomoMetal alone multiplies the "smile count" by 10 😂. Since finding Babymetal and connecting with the community, my life has dramatically improved in so many ways. I’ve made friends around the world, traveled around the world to go to shows with them, and of course I now have their incredible music. Life changing indeed.
Welcome to the Fox Hole! Better late than never and we accept you with open arms. You only have about 60 other songs to react to. Keep going.
Welcome back to the Babymetal Foxhole. "PA PA YA" is from Babymetal third album METAL GALAXY. Papaya is a tropical fruit available anywhere in Asia especially in the region of South East Asia. "PA PA YA!!" is a dance song with an underlying massage of striving for personal excellence, collaboration with a very well known Thailand 🇹🇭 rapper from Chiang Rai name Natthawut Srimok nickname Golf but known popularly by his stage name F.HERO (Fukking Hero) and specialise in the Hip-Hop and Rap genre. Some remarks in Thai lyric translation part:
Molam= Thai-Isan local music
"Papaya -Pok-Pok= Thai pun phrase means Som-Tam, Thai food made up from papaya-chopped mix up with chilli, tomato, garlic, palm sugar, lots of vegetable and others depends on varies area. "Som-Tam" also have the same meaning with "Hanaka"= Thai old snack, slang word means like "sugoi" in Japanese. Great reaction.
Background and release:-
"Pa Pa Ya!!" was released worldwide on June 28, 2019, just ahead of the band's performance at Yokohama Arena the same day. The song was also released as a bonus CD to the box set Metal Resistance Episode VII - Apocrypha: The Chosen Seven.
As Moametal states, "Pa Pa Ya!!" has a fun performance, and is the first of their songs to feature a rap section.
Composition:-
Similar to other Babymetal songs, "Pa Pa Ya!!" gathers influence from various genres while preserving the band's J-pop and electronic music. With its name referring to the papaya, "Pa Pa Ya!!" contains components of southern lands, Japanese festivals, and a chaotic tune, for a "hot upper tune" in the summer. The song is composed of an "infectuous synth line", "bouncy guitar riffs", and vocals repeatedly yelling "Pa pa ya", with the tune showcasing Su-metal and Moametal singing around each other in contrast to the chants and guitars. F.Hero raps a verse which provides elements of nu-metal, and applying "horror-esque synths" against the bubblegum chorus.

if i may suggest (maybe a reaction to two versions of one song in a row?) "Babymetal - Headbanger (OFFICIAL)" and the other version of this song is "'Headbanger Night of 15 mix".
since you said you like the variety in there songs you'll probably like this a lot :)
