- Hello and welcome to another Train Sim World 4 video!
Today we're going to be driving the Class 142 Pacer train on the last of the three branch lines available with the "Blackpool Branches" DLC for Train Sim World 4. This route sees us drive from Ormskirk through to Preston, mostly on single track.
Today it's the Provincial livery, the last of the three liveries available for the Class 142 on this DLC. You could argue it's the most iconic of the three and certainly a brilliant livery to finish off the DLC with!

Nederlandse Spoorwegen liveries, they're iconic, especially the new Flow scheme. Not nearly enough yellow based liveries in the world!

The unused platford at Croston Station is still there, just more overgrown (and more grass growing in the four-foot).
One of my favourite trains after the HST with the intercity livery however the pacer reminds me of when I was lad getting on them and being rolled about all over 🤣 best thing about it is the fact it used to be a bus and they just decided to make one into a train
Provincial livery was very underrated - as you say, a nice, simple, and light scheme, that counterpointed the rich, darker InterCity and bright, bold NSE colours.

Although it does somewhat give away the bus heritage of the family (you only have to look at the Tyne & Wear PTE livery on a 142, next to a Northern General Leyland National - identical, but not in a bad way).
4:13 single line all the way until just before preston apart from rufford with the passing loop as it's the only place with two platforms now, rest of the line used to have two platforms but only got one platforms apart from rufford

Nice video, Joe. Personally I think since the release of TSW4, the Blackpool Branch appears to be quite substantially my favourite, with Verarlberg behind. I’m all for pacers and slow haul, but yes - I would rather a more modern map, with the Northern 158s. I’ve seen Maintalbahn and I’m not fond of that (more of the same thing) , so please don’t be insisted to spend £30 on that route
Totally agree with you! Though of course I had to spend the pennies on Maintalbahn just to check it out for myself! Video is out now should you wish to know my thoughts haha :D
