@@analogholic_reviews Definitely and much appreciated. I’m considering an upgrade my modest system fairly soon. I currently have a Cambridge CXA60 with Dali Zensor 3’s. I’m thinking about spending 3-4k in total. Maybe something like these with the Elex Mk4. But also have my eye on the Musical Fidelity A1 and Exposure 2510.
Great review as always, and interesting to see a manufacturer pushing the boundaries with the material construction. It would also be interesting to see a review of your Linn LP12 and how it compares to your Rega P10!
Can't wait to demo them! The online verdict is that I probably need to upgrade the Brio to at least an Elax in order to get a good picture if the capability.
I also need to shout out the music used for testing in this channel! There's a whole unexplored avenue of just recommendeding great tracks and recordings for us HiFi nerds here.
Hi, I just discovered your channel and I've been waiting for a knowledgeable review of the Rega Aya speakers. First impression, not an issue but smaller than I imagined they would be. I do confess to being disappointed that they're considerably more than the initial $1,500 projected MSRP. But they sound like they're worth every penny. Great review BTW. More often than not, I don't see a reviewer speak of the soundstage, tonality and immediacy. I just gave you a thumbs up and I checked over your past offerings on your channel and I like what I see. You have a new subscriber.
Greetings from Kalamazoo! This was a great review. You've given high marks to a lot of Rega gear. I have the Rega P8 and a Rega phono stage. I've been looking really hard at that Aethos ever since your review of it. I've spent a fair amount of $ on my system over the years, but I keep missing the mark in terms of synergy.
I had the exact same issue, and in the end went 100% Rega (speakers, amp, phono stage, table, even cables), and have never been happier. Definitely excited for these speakers as a possible upgrade to my Rega RX3 speakers.
Interested as well, combo rega aethos, rega cd player (which one for the aethos) and this speakers? Which speakers are recommended? Always read mixed reviews about their speakers...
@@timchromecast Hard to pass on the Saturn or the Aethos, that will give you full digital capability to the system, so CD and streaming, TV, or whatever digital source you have. It sound amazing!
Hi Rohit. Great Review. An a first on TH-cam for the Aya. The Aya looks very promising and is on My radar. Since You have used the Elex MK4 as Amplification, Would love to see Your review on the Elex MK4. I have it and its sound quality is exceptional value for Money, may be 90 percent of the sound quality of the Elicit MK5 at a much lower price. Two questions though. Does the Aya project an exceptionally large soundstage ? Is the Aya driven by the digital inputs of the Elex forgiving of poor recordings?
@@remiwjuniski1808curious which speaker did u pair the mk4 with? is linton and oberon 5 good too? looking for best tonality in midrange (esp natural baritone voices)
I've had Rega Saturn (and recently the R) for years, and have recently upgraded to Aethos amp. I'm wondering if these speakers would be good enough for the Aethos? Also... A video request... I'd love to know 10 albums you love to demo with. Not necessarily "finger in ear, eyes closed, chin strokers" but records you really enjoy. I bought one (bob James - once upon a time) off the back of your Aethos review. I've never given jazz much of a chance, but find it very relaxing.
Yes, I believe the Aya will be good enough and wont be outclassed with the Aethos. Also, a great idea on 10 albums to demo your gear! I will try and put a video together!
Great review, such an interesting offering from Rega. Kind of what I've wanted from floor standers with respect to control, tone, resolution, impact and coherence. And for such a good price. Do you feel they should be considered for medium to larger rooms only? Also, great recording choices! 🙏
As usual, excellent review! Really wish I would have held off buying my RX3`s. I think these would have been perfect for my setup that includes an Elex MK4! In your opinion, do you think the Aya's would be a step up to the RX3's?
I do remember thoroughly enjoying the Rx3. I would just relax and enjoy the RX3 and not worry about upgrading, unless you find it lacking in some aspects. There’s always going to be something better IMHO.
I heard these only yesterday at a Sydney hifi show. I was blown away by Aya’s speed, dynamics and rhythm! However I found the high frequencies were a bit too sharp and almost piercing. It sounded like a very small tweeter trying to do big things. Not sure if anyone else noticed this caveat?
@@analogholic_reviews it was powered by the two levels higher brother to the Elex amplifier- not sure the name of it. Anyway I really like the Aya despite the treble issue.
We have the same square footage listening room. can these speakers really fill the space? I was in an Audio-T last week and these do look small like the RS3.
I think I maybe correct in saying the Aya shares the zrr tweeter with previous Rx ranges. That tweeter is an absolute 🍑Peach. Can't wait to hear the full Aya package. I agree with you on immediacy sounding good. The Rx range is a very fast speaker with no overhang on notes.

Thanks for the insight on these, in what could be a world first on TH-cam. Certainly one of only a handful. I’ll try to demo them.
I’m hoping you’d agree that amongst the little out there, this is the most in-depth review.

Interesting the put tweeter in the middle and makes sense maybe. Good review but I am sticking with Infinity Kappa 8s

This is still the only Aya review! Well done! Should be getting a pair in the new year if finances permit.

Hello from Germany, a quick question, is the Rega Phono MK5 better than the phono part in the Elex R MK4 and does it make sense to buy it?
Thanks!

Hello, sorry I have not heard the Rega phono mk5.
Yes it’s way better . I have elex mk4 and fono mm mk5 and did AB test ;)
Rega themselves was using the fono mm mk5 with the elex mk4 in Bristol when they where presenting the upcoming nd7 mm cardridge
Thank you very much

Thanks for the review - I can't seem to find the frequency response range for the Aya's - any idea what they may be?
That’s right. They have not published it anywhere that I can find. In my room and system it felt strong enough down to the mid 30s.

Very good review. How do they compare to the RS 5?
It’s been a while since I heard the RS model. But from memory the soundstage, detail, and dynamics seem to be better on the Aya.

The Aya should do ok in smaller rooms as long as they have a bit of room from the front wall.

The highs were exceptionally clear without sounding piercing in my system. Perhaps there wasn’t synergy with the room, or the source, or amplifier ?

Can you comment on the tone realism of the speaker?
