It was not the launch of his career. He has been in many movies prior to that including Mr. India which OSR have watched. So they have seen him but did not recognize him

Mukesh Rishi who plays 'Bulla' is the most typecasted villian/antihero of that time. This movie Was a major flop at the box office. But a good 10-15 years later, the comedic aspect took hold among the audience and it took a cult status. It's so bad it's good.
